goodday sir, please how were you able to achieve the head turn, like when drawing a flat 2D character we cant also draw the side at the same time, so how did you manage the side drawing of the head
@@DarrenTAnims if am right sir, i should have different drawings of the head in different columns in the xsheet and then peg them all in a peg bar which will be connected to the torso in the schematic view and afterwards turn off the visibility and only on that of the drawing i need at the moment right?. Or is there a better approach please
Great video. Is there a way to select different meshes like image substitutions using QW keys, so you could switch between different meshes on the same column? When I try this with everything deleted on timeline, my image substitions work on my images, but it doesnt remember my meshes and will only show the first one I created on that column. Trying to make a rigged character that I can reuse on multiple scenes and retain all the image substitutions and meshes. Not sure if that makes sense. Thanks
Yes that makes sense. Be aware that if you want to keep your meshes with the drawings, you'll need to save your setup as one scene. The load that into your other scenes using the "File > Load as Sub Xsheet" menu option. I don't think there's a keyboard shortcut to switch between meshes, but you can certainly create multiple meshes in a column and change between then using buttons on the Plastic Tool's options toolbar.
Sir i have one problem, when i create mesh and then when i use edit tool to animate my cutout , the cut out is not showing properly i mean half of the image gone delete or hide(i don't know) what i am doing wrong? 🙏
It sounds like you've used the animate tool on the drawing column. That's taken the drawings out of the mesh area. Either delete the animation keys from the drawing column or cut/paste them to the mesh column.
@@DarrenTAnims yes sir i had use animation keys you are absolutely right, thank for the guidance sir now i am going to delete that key and try to animate again thank you again sir 🙏💖
Hello, what do you think wich tool is better for creating and animating full turnaround character in Tahoma? Is this plastic tool or skeleton tool? Sorry for asking in this comment section, but I don't know where I should ask about it. Cheers!
Asking here is just fine. But if you want to chat more about this and other animation topics, you might find my Discord server useful. Plus you'll get more opinions from other animators. For a turnaround, I wouldn't say that either is better as you really need the turnaround images in separate columns. You might animate part of them using the skeleton tool, which is just a shortcut for using the animate tool in rotate mode.

At around 1:30 you can see I created 2 different drawings and then exposed the 2nd drawing on the timeline to show it.
@@DarrenTAnims ok thanks

@@DarrenTAnims I was able to switch skeletons using buttons on the plastic tool toolbar, but it doesn’t switch the mesh???
Also if I try copying the meshes key frame and pasting it into another frame, it breaks :(
