- The standard opening theme, two slow variations, and the standard closing theme from the popular Australian serial 'The Sullivans', accompanied by some stills and publicity shots from the programme.
The composer is Geoff Harvey and the official title for this music is 'Reflections'. All copyrights acknowledged.
Lunchtime TV viewing when you were off sick from school. It reminds me of my late mother and nana who always watched it religiously.
RIP Geoff Harvey who passed away this week. Thank you for all your music

This show is one of Australia’s best…. Takes me back to when I was a boy watching it with my dad, and I’m sure it always took him back to WW2 when he was a youngster, I cherish those memories thanks Australia
Like so many others this reminds me so much of lunch at my Nan's house. Haven't seen the show in over 30 years but just the opening bars of the theme take me straight back

Lovely piece of music, the title says it all., I am instantly transported back to my grans , in the early 80's , she loved watching The Sullivans,, this song has never left my mind.., thank you so much for posting..
When I hear this music,it reminds me of going home on leave(from the army) and my lovely mom and dad would have their lunch during it.I haven't heard this for well over 30 years,probably nearer 40.Time in a bottle.Those days long since gone as have my parents.Welling up as I write this.

R.I.P. Geoff Harvey. A very talented bloke. Without him The Sullivans wouldn’t have been the same. x. The sad tune still chokes me up.
The fact that it was filmed in the 70's, you could easily convince people that it was filmed during the WW2 era and the music is very nostalgic, its making me feel very emotional.
The series was made 'only' 30 years after the war. It is now more than 40 years since the series.

Probably, the best Australian drama I have ever seen. A time of reflections. I use to look forward to seeing the Sulavans on my lunch break because my work place was only two minutes walk away from home.
This Australian series brings back so many memories of my younger years. I have seen many Australian productions but this is the best. Why are they not shown as a series again, I am sure many would welcome the return.

I used to go around to my nans for dinner and the sullivans re runs would be on tv . I miss Nan . Great memories.❤
I used to think this show was so awful but my mother loved it and now this tune reminds me of her, Funny how you appreciate something so much more when it is gone

Child hood memories from the 1980s . I loved The Sullivan’s. If only it was repeated on UK tv today. I love the theme tune. Could listen to it all day.
In the 1970s our whole family in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia used to sit and watch Sullivans on an old black and white tv without missing a serial. We were like part of the Sullivans family. Those were the days when RTM Msia had very quality programs like these.
This reminds me of my family all sitting around together when I was a boy.

I remember it used to be on ITV sandwiched between Rainbow and the lunchtime ITN news with Leonard Parkin. Makes me feel like 4 years old again.
Happy memories watching as a child. Chose it to play as we signed the register at our wedding years later.
Remember this from lunchtime tv as a bairn in the late 70s! Shown on STV here in Scotland until early 1980s. The memories of my childhood watching the opening titles.
Watched this off and on over the years here in the UK, truly an amazing theme, excellent instrumentals and piano that’s bright and uplifting 👌.

I would run home at lunchtime from school (UK) to watch when I was 10. Great memories.
Q1, same,, I'm getting old, 51 now 😂😂.
My late Mother loved this programme, and followed it from start to conclusion, rarely missing an episode. She much preferred it in the 12.30pm slot, as opposed to 3.50pm to which it was moved for a short time during its lengthy run.
Back to my wonderful childhood.
This show was what made Australia a perfect holiday destination for many back in the 1970s and 80s.

A Fantastic Musician - a VERY funny Man - a Great Bloke - they don't make People like him anymore - we watched him on the Mike Walsh Show - very Talented indeed - such Memories - R.I.P. Geoff - we will NOT forget You !

I remember this show growing up as a kid in the 80's, I also remember Geoff Harvey as the funny guy conductor on the midday show but there's nothing funny about this composition almost like Rachmaninoff in it's sense of nostalgia, Brilliant

Where did you get the other versions of the theme? They were only ever used as incidental music in the show, under dialogue. Lovely to hear them in complete form. Vale Geoff Harvey.
ken francis Thanks for your message. The two slow variations here were occasionally used as closing themes during sad storylines (and the final episode), so I ripped them from there. I have another piano variation of the main theme (again occasionally used over the credits) which I will upload at some point. I’m aware of some other variations used in the show but couldn’t find “clean” copies. A beautiful piece of music (originally not written for The Sullivans but for a film called Reflections, hence the title). RIP Geoff Harvey.

She got about about a bit. Played Mrs Jessop in The Sullivans. I always wondered though if the good folk of Ramsey Street knew that she'd also done time in the Wentworth Detention Centre!
@@derekhorne8076 Except that British viewers hardly saw her in Prisoner Cell Block H - a bit of careful editing in some ITV regions saw her largely removed from the series, resulting in episodes that were shorter in length!
