    just like to point out, as a Canadian, every ultimate player i know (and myself) were extremely upset with the way Furious George (the canadian team) represented our country and played. It was out of line, it was aggressive and it was poor sportsmanship.
    they issued an apology for the way they acted but that isnt enough, I just want to put this out there so spectators dont hate on future canadian teams because of the actions of bad apples, even though it may be well deserved.

      As a Canadian, I agree. I was cheering for the Japanese at the end.

      Yeah, it was rough. I still love Darren Wu for his skies, though, because he has better sportsmanship than this.

    • @ishr5913
      @ishr5913 9 років тому +1

      NewAgeEagles why don't you just shut up. The only reason they are apologizing is because they were caught on video. How many people do you think were injured (possibly permanently) for this despicable Canadian team to get to this stage? Where's your bleeding heart for them? Don't defend Canadians. You're only sorry you were caught.

    • @puppetshowbio2607
      @puppetshowbio2607 7 років тому +4

      +ishr5913 No, he is trying to stop people like you from commenting exactly that. Respect anyone and a team. There was one contact, where the Japenese faked the injury after the other player was injured, and that was bad. Everyone contacts and we do not know what actually happened down there in their minds and if the Japenese player wanted him to contact him. Sometimes that happened but there are limits and rules.

      Puppet show bio my comments and feeling regarding the two teams have nothing to do with nationality or race. Had it been the other way around, I'd be supporting (thru a UA-cam comment, haha) the Canadian players and putting the Japanese players on blast. So please don't misunderstand where I'm coming from.
      Also, I don't think Shen is that common of a last name in the Chinese culture. As to other Asian countries and nationalities, I'm not sure.

      it wasnt the foul, the foul was fine, that happens, but it was the fact that the guy was withering on the floor in pain and he just took the disc, whacked it on the ground and waited for play to resume and didnt show any sympathy

  • @Mightyfish_

    Ultimate Frisbee isn't usually like this. It's more friendly and outgoing matches, it would depend on the people you play with. If you have somebody in your match that helps people get up or motivates people, than your match will obviously be positive. But if you see unsportsmanlike behavior like that number 9 guy, than the match will be more intense and aggressive.

    I'm Japanese, and it was sad that this game became famous because of the bad aspect of the whole game. But as I read the comment from team Canada (check out the article of Aug10 on Furious George HP), it seems they learned how their play would be criticized. I don't affirm the dangerous plays and threatening attitudes, but I respect their dynamic and attractive playstyle, and I really hope they'll show us great games with the spirit of the game as one of the strongest team in the world.

Making intense defensive plays is one thing, but bidding into someone when you obviously have no chance of getting the disc is just stupid and dangerous.
