so many of these throws, you're going no too far, he can't get there. So are the receivers telling the throwers, fuck dude put it in front of me but not that far in front. Don't make it that hard. Or are they just like, thanks for putting me on the highlight real, bro. For that matter are the throwers thinking, oh shit I over threw it or are they thinking, this guy can catch anything no worries.

+Solomon Feinberg. As someone who routinely handles for a stupidly athletic receiver, I can tell you that my own thought process is to intentionally put it farther in front of him than I would normally throw to others. And he definitely falls into that "thanks for putting me on the highlight reel" category. Not saying that's necessarily how these guys feel, but that's my experience.

+iTheGM Thanks for the response. I was just re-reading my question and it occurred to me that sometimes - unless you can get the right angle etc - maybe the defense is so competitive that you have to have some of this just impossible (for anyone remotely normal) shit just to put it where the defense can't get it. Or you just know that they (the offense) can get it. It's so fun to watch the AUDL and elite ultimate that this sport is going to continue to explode in popularity.

I was at a tournament last weekend where my defender was only one stride behind me, and the put was far enough in front of me that we both had to bid, but he came up one stride short and I caught it at full extension. If that throw is in a spot where I didn't have to bid, he would have laid out in front of me for the d.
