No need to remove the shroud or the fan, the bolt is a 15mm.

Exactly! I just did my belts without taking the shroud or the fan off. Just the intake and the plastic shield underneath.

Just changed mine didn't have to remove fan, I removed the shroud to give me more room though.

Can you access the compressor belt from the top as well if you have A/C?

Hi, I realize this video's a few years old, but I'm hoping you could shed some light on something. I was wondering if there is anybody that could tell me why it would take a repair shop 2.5 hours to just find or get to looking at a belt, when the customer TOLD them it was the belt that was making the noise in the first place? Yes, they did have other vehicles they were working on, but I was the one waiting, at the shop, for a diagnosis! They did find out what it was (two belts and tensioner needed replacing), and said it would be about 2 more hours for that, but I'm kind of mad about how I was treated (also gossiped about my truck being dirty), but at the same time, there aren't very many mechanics shops in town. Also, I did not plan on spending the entire day at a shop! What I'm asking is: is this a normal time frame for just locating a belt on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe?

No. It should have taken less than 10 seconds to locate the serpentine belt on any domestic vehicle. They're probably look at ways to charge you more money and point out little things that don't matter or need replacing.
