But there was something very special about the *combination* of Heather and Cynthia. They both became something more on that stage together.

In the book the late great Alice Walker knew what she was doing. These women shared that bond that was emotional and that manifested itself into a physical love. Tho they didn’t end up together it was known that they were a couple. I applauded the musical for bringing this into the forefront and staying true to the book. The movie was excellent but the musical was magic. I loved it. It told the story beautifully.
Heather Headley is a Phenomenal Talent!!! Truly was the best Shug Avery there was in the play version!!!Her voice is simply angelic!!! Cynthia Erivo is another phenomenal talent!!!
