Electric car crosses Route 66, camps at stunning Colorado Grand Canyon

- In 13 days and 4000 kilometers, we embarked on a challenging journey, driving an electric car across the historic Route 66 in the USA. Along the way, we encountered countless retro towns, abandoned motels, and gas stations. We also experienced camping in national parks, visited various museums, and explored wildlife sanctuaries.
We shared our experiences with electric car charging, and this road trip, filled with challenges, marked our first long-distance adventure since arriving in the United States. In the second episode, we finally left California and entered Arizona. Oatman, a town with only 102 residents, greeted us with leisurely strolls of donkeys in the streets. You could pat their heads or feed them. Then, we faced the toughest mountain roads along Route 66 and passed by the ancient store, Cool Springs Station. We even had the chance to experience the owner's Harley-Davidson motorcycle. In the evening, we reached the magnificent Grand Canyon. We booked a spot at Mather Campground, located on the southern rim of the canyon. The campground offered a supermarket, firewood for purchase, picnic tables, restrooms, and water. It accommodated both tents and RVs, and we highly recommend it!
