Forks are one of those things you wonder how you ever did without!
It really is!
It sure does appear that way! A game changer indeed
I was one of the guys that was telling you that those clamp-on pallet forks were a bad idea, and that they'd damage your bucket. I COMPLETELY get that you couldn't afford a set of regular pallet forks. That makes perfect sense. We all have to prioritize what we want to get with our money, and food and paying bills SHOULD come first! 🙂 I also have to buy equipment as I budget for it. I don't know many people who don't. Shoot, I used my BX for six or seven years before I was ready to shell out more money for my larger machine. But I kept my BX as it comes in as handy as a shirt pocket on a lot of chores around my house. There's something to be said for the agility of a SCUT.
If and when you're able to get a regular grapple, especially if you're able to get a log grapple at some point in time, like a Frost Bite grapple, that will be even handier at setting logs on the mill than the forks are.
Respect.
Yeah, man, it is a whole new world now! 😊. Maybe some of those other attachments down the road…
That is awesome!!!!! Glad to see the upgrades. God is good. Thank you for continuing to put good enjoyable content out.
Thank you! 👊
Look at that!! Wood yard 2.0! I’m glad Artillian is supporting your channel. It’s a wholesome family channel. God Bless!!
Thank you! We are doing what we can! 👊
Your smile turned into happy giggles after using the forks and realizing what you have. Your "I love it" came from within you. That's happiness
Haha. Yeah they really have made life so much easier!
I'm so stoked to have found your channel. I've also got a subcompact for my 28 acres and a local told me a mill would be unrealistic because I'd need lots of heavy equipment to get my logs moved. Seeing you do this with your BX gives me faith that I can do it. And now you've introduced a new affordable mill to me (I was only aware of the Harbor Freight)! You're getting it done on a budget and I am all about it.
Thanks for watching! You absolutely can mill! I am brand new to all of this and in just a few months I’ve created a full blown Woodyard. I’m having a blast with it all.
I love my pallet forks...probably use them almost as much as the bucket! Congrats on the new toy.
Tool. The new tool. 😉👍
They are amazing! 👊
Enjoy watching your Homestead activities evolve. Love tractors, attachments and portable mills and building your cabin and mill with your own sawn lumber. Neat to see it all come together. Thanks for taking us on the ride. Steve
Awesome! Thanks for the support!
So glad those forks are worthwhile! We have an SSQA on our BX an the first time we need forks we plan to get one.
Yes, I am loving them! They are awesome!
Love the video! Always keep an eye on that front tire pressure. Amazing how fast you can pop the tire off the rim when your tire pressure gets to low.
Yes and I’ve squashed mine down pretty close before!
Great video Lucas, definitely a great tool to add to the BX. Everyone needs pallets forks!
For sure! Thanks!
Man this was the attachment I was waiting for you to get 😂 good to see you got them! a buddy of mine says they are his favorite attachment! I hope to be able to grow my small channel one day to have sponsors it’d be a dream. Keep up the hard work Lucas 💪🏻
Thank you! Best of luck! Just keep grinding. 👊
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead appreciate it!
So glad Artillian was able to hook you up. I have to admit I did groan every time I saw you struggle with those clamp on forks thinking "Man, he would have no problems if he had a real set of forks"
Right?! Me too. I’m so glad to have them!
This is a great video and the better fork setup surely helped out quite a bit! Good work!
Yeah, the forks are amazing! I have another secret coming soon that even steps things up another notch. The Woodyard productivity is headed in the right direction!
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead cannot wait to see what arrives! I have a suspicion you are really gonna like it! 😉
Lucas: one thing I would do is put two logs down and then put the rest on top, so that the ones you are going to mill are out of the mud. I too have forks on my BX. They can only lift certain weights, and I have gotten used to that. Your mill shed looks good. No more wet machinery. Take care and stay safe. PS: one of these days I will be able to use the forks to move fine china plates.. Just not today.
Yes that is a good idea!
I went cheap with some of those 2600lb SSQA forks from Amazon for my BX2380. I have been very happy with what they can do, but I am still wanting to get the Artillian SSQA plate, forks, and then also be able to attach the Artillian stump bucket. When I can afford it, I'll get it. Great video, as always.
Thanks! Artillian makes great products for sure!
Thanks! Artillian makes great products for sure!
Couple of thoughts, I saw a back ballast video with calculations that relieve front axel pressure. I’m putting 415# on the back with a box half full of gravel. FYI the land pride lightest forks are close 220# with a top brace rated at 1200#. Finally, tomorrow I get a set of the HydrosPlus cylinders which will increase my lift about 250#. I think it will be a good set up when I need it; everything is now quick hitch configured. Good video, nice to see some decent capacity.
That’s awesome! That will be nice. Keep me posted on how you are liking the setup and what your lift is.
We did exactly the same swap (clamp on to "real" skid steer quick attach forks) a couple of weeks ago. The difference is night vs day.
It really is!
Bring an extra tote down to the roadside and use it to top off the ones not all the way full. Easier than cutting totes and figuring out random units of measurement for sales
Probably so. I don’t necessarily intend to send the totes with customers anyway. So I won’t be loading them into trucks…
When I come to power, compact tractors will be sold with forks as standard and buckets will be optional accessories.
Haha. I can see that!
You can add a grapple to some pallet forks. Ive seen a set of pallet forks with a grapple replace just a stand alone grapple. I dont know if u can add a grapple to that frame tho. In open space, pallet forks are great for moving logs, since you can get as many logs on there as you can lift.
Yes, they have grapples that will add to the frame!
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead You know what to do. 😁
More attachment weight though... might need to consider whether or not adding the grapple is beneficial or if you could get by with a chain/strap to hold the load on the forks. I hate giving up load lifting capacity away for the attachment.
be great if Artillian came to Australia..
Great video brother!!! I’ve been putting off getting some forks for a while now. This video definitely sold me on getting legitimate forks instead of the clamp on kind.
Quick question: How is the LiFePO4 Battery holding up in your 4-wheeler? Been 5 months since you put it in. Curious of how it’s holding up.
Have a great week!!!
Hey that battery is still kicking good. Haven’t had any issues yet! 👊
If u can weld u can make own attachments at times cheaper then buying.
I’ve done some of that, but forks are a special case because of tempering. I scratch built a grapple which is a great addition for me. Started with steel and hydraulics.
Pallet forks are a must. Great video Lucas
Thanks, Man!
He is on his way to Fork Lift Certification!
@@oakiewoodsman 😂🤣
👍👍
You will probably leave the forks on the tractor. Forks are the handiest accessory you can have."
I am finding that out!
Really happy Artillian was willing to work with you on the new pallet forks. They will be so handy you will wonder how you did without them so long. Stand up company helping out a stand up guy!
Thank you! I’m already finding so many uses!
7:24 Yup, watch out for the longevity of your front axle seals.
Congrats on the growth and I am excited to see where you will go!
Thanks, Buddy!
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead ur welcome and it is well deserved!
Happy to see you got yourself a solution! These have been added to my not inconsiderable attachment wish list.
Man, I’m telling you, they are even handier than I imagined they would be. Thanks for watching!
Glad you got the pallet forks!! Next thing I would save up for would be the Hydrosplus upgraded loader cylinders they are about $900 and a total game changer.
I bet! I am not sure I trust myself with them….but I want them!
I found that if I curl back a heavy load it moves the weight back closer to the pins and I can lift more weight. Just don't do it with a log! Without a frame or guard you might end up with it in your lap. I'm brand new to this tractor stuff and I will continue to learn from you.
Yeah, you’ll keep learning new ways to eke out a little more capability as you work. It’s an awesome machine!
Here is an idea for you with your forks.
Get you some bright spray paint and paint the ends of the forks. Paint about 6 or 8 inches or so of the ends of the forks. Then when you go to pick something and it is close together and you dont want to pick what is behind it, you can see the ends of your forks a lot easier. Trust me it works and it is a game changer. Every now and then of course, you may have to repaint them as the paint will wear off
I like this! I think I will!
Cut the totes in half and screw the top half to a pallet. Boom, you have two half cages that the BX can manage. Plus, you can stack the wood and move more wood per cage than loose throwing.
Not a bad idea. I may try that when I get a chance. 👊
I love my pallet forks and use them all the time....they are on my tractor more than my bucket.
I have had mine on the most since I got them. They are great!
Can you add the grapple on the pallet fork attachment ?
Yes you can!
Actual pallet forks are a must. Good job
