Depends how you say it. If you say it straight out, it means true or honest. If you say it with some excitement, it means far out. "I got a promotion today". "Fair dinkum?" If you say it more sarcastically, it can have a negative connotation: "The car broke down again". "Fair dinkum?"

Come a gusta means to have made a mistake. If you were looking at a shelia and pranged your ute into a dunny (porto loo) then you've come a gusta.
I don't use the "er" version it's considered rude. Just the "a" version is socially acceptable. :-)

Yeah its like the word "Selfie" recognised around the world but it was invented by an Australian. The word Awesome is British word about 100 years ago and not used much by them but Aussies made it famous and now Americans say it a lot more than we do.
"Come a Guster" was misspelt, the "s" and "t" are the wrong way around and the word is "Gutser" not "Guster".
And "Come a Gutser" means to take a heavy fall, it's the same as the term "Come a Cropper"
Last one is ‘come a gutser’.. to fall over, or fail.
