Good video up to the point where the 2 wires (not the power) connect into the board. I can't seem to figure out which terminals the 2 wires from the Remootio control go to in my gate opener board??? Any help would be much appreciated. You pointed to 2 wires in the box but what are they????
Using #2 location pins on the remootio device goes to (cyc) on your ghost control panel and the one on the right goes to (com) on your control panel.
I plan on doing an updated video on this as well as a full review. Currently I have this Remootio Box unhooked from my solar system and batteries. The two wires it was hooked to in the video was directly to the battery. The red (positive) and the black (negative). (Where it first comes into the control box). It worked great for about 8 weeks but we had a week where it was mostly storms/cloudy and not much sun and my system would no longer open my gate. I had to charge both batteries and I left the Remootio box disconnected at this moment. I will elaborate more on this in a future video.

I hooked my Remootio 2 up to a Doorking system. I can hear a relay click but the gate doesn’t open. Any ideas?
The keypad and car remote both work, hooked it up to the same terminals on the board.
Interesting , I hope you are still tracking comments. How is this thing working after a year ? Also , I have concerns about privacy and who exactly has access when you just put it out there on the net . I didnt see a setup portion or maybe I am too impatient . How did you join each device to your network and would this work if you had a LAN that was just local with no internet service > I like the concept I am just not keep on giving away access to unknown parties like people do with all of these camera systems these days.
If it is not connected to your WIFI you can also control it with Bluetooth but i have not tested this option.

This looks like the solution I need but would love to hear how its worked out for you since installing before I pull the trigger
I can tell you that my experience with this product has been a disaster. Installing the box wasn't difficult, though how it connects to the gate controller box is something of a crap shoot. I connected mine to the "door bell" button port, as suggested by Remootio and by Ghost Controls. The module immediately connected to my wi-fi network and worked pretty much as advertised...for 2 days. Then my gate wouldn't fully open, then it wouldn't close. The beeping that came from the box sounded weak and irregular as if there was no power getting to the box. Batteries were fully charged at 12.8 v but when the gate was activated it wouldn't move more than a couple of feet, then stop. It was worse when the Zombie lock activated. I disconnected the Remootio and the gate was still FUBAR. I had to remove and reattach all the wiring and start over from scratch. Reconnected everything including the Remootio and it worked...for 2 days then REPEAT. I tried connecting the module directly to the battery. Same result. I went through this process for 2 weeks. Though Remootio customer service did respond eventually to my emails their advice did nothing to resolve the problem. It seems that they can't or don't want to explain why it's doing what it's doing. Remember too that this product is produced and headquartered in Budapest, Hungary and US consumer protection is non-existent. I've requested a refund but am not holding my breath.
@@marknickel27 I ordered one and had some issues getting it wired properly but got it working with help from the Remootio support. Yes it took 12+ hours to get responses (different time zone) but they always responded and its been working great. I haven't had the problems you mentioned (thankfully) but the auto open isn't working right, other than that, I'm very pleased because I've been looking for an option for my existing gate opener for years. Everyone I spoke to said I had to buy another $1500+ gate operator so this is $100 well spent

@@tobyobie1 Yep. I dumped the Remootio (good luck getting response for a refund but that's a whole different nightmare) and replaced it with the Ghost Controls recommended iSmartgate Lite. I dumped the Ghost Controls batteries that came with the system and replaced them with two full size deep cycle marine batteries. Finally, I added three additional 10w solar panels for a total of 4, two connected to each battery. Yeah, kind of became an obsession but now it seems to work. If you live at the equator the setup they suggest might work. If you live at latitude 43N like I do, it works during the summer, otherwise have a better charging system set up or an electircal outlet close by to run the system/battery charger. Despite what the folks at Remootio say, the unit draws too much juice to maintain the batteries with a single or even 2 10w solar charging panels.
How well does it work in picking up Wi-Fi signal? I have a Wi-Fi access point about 500 ft line of sight from the gate.
Should work if you have a strong signal and router.
We have 50 gate users in a complex. Will this work for all 50 residence?
Great question I had to research this myself and yes the guest keys can be on unlimited smartphones. The administrator key however is unique so the settings can't be changed from guest keys.. if this fits your needs.

Did the remootio open the gate when you get close, off Bluetooth ??
In the video the gate auto opens with a ghost controls wireless sensor. Its the box that I hold up in the video showing the sensor.

Is your Remootio connected to/powered by the 12V on the Ghost control?
Correct, it's hooked directly to the ghost fuel battery box. New updated video coming soon stay tuned. Within the week hopefully.
Can this work on a double gate and to open one gate only as well as both gates?

It can work for a double gate opening them the same way it typically opens. As far as opening one gate independent and keeping another one shut? That would be a question to ask Remootio Customer support.

Will this device still close the gate with Party Mode enabled? For example, if I leave home and forget to disable Party Mode, can I use the app to close the gate? Ghost didn’t know the answer.
If your gate is in party mode this will not open or close your gate until party mode is disabled.

@@DrDemp Thanks for the reply. Is there an auto close or scheduled close feature in the Remootio app? If so I will just not use Ghost’s settings and just do everything from the app. I’m looking for full remote control that Ghost and Mighty Mule just don’t offer yet.
The Remootio app has an automation and a schedule that you can program but I have not used these features to comment on them at this time.
Could you fit this gadget to a Roger tech electrical gate ?
I'm not familiar with that unit but you can always reach out to Remootio.

It is installed on a Ghost system with the zombie lock. As shown in the video.

@@DrDemp Just installed Remootio 3 on my gate with ghost controls with a marine battery and working great. I haven't decided where to mount the open/closed sensor that comes with Remootio. Did you use the adhesive and stick it where it was shown in this video or decide to put it somewhere else?
How far away is your gate? Mine is 1/4 mile from WiFi 😢
I don't have an exact measurement but the box is mounted around 7 feet of the ground. Driveway is 350 feet plus another 50 to wifi so I'm pushing the limits but I've never had an issue with connectivity.
Is there a cellular option or is this simply connected to your home WiFi and then you can control it via the app from anywhere? My gate is about a 1/2 mile as you drive from the house, so WiFi for the gate is not an option.
This device shown in the video works off of wifi, but as it's connected to wifi I can control it off of cellular anywhere.
Something your looking for would require a Sim card and pay for a monthly data service to be connected to cellular and controlled if you do not have WIFI access at your gate.

What did you connect to in the ghost box? It didn't show it in the video. I just got mine but it won't open.
On the Pinout diagram on the Remootio device use the #2 section... the right #2 pin will go to the hardwired imput on the ghost control labeled "COM"
The left #2 section on the Remootio device will go to the hardwire section on the ghost control labeled "CYC".
I realized this portion of the video got cut out of the editing process too late after this video was posted unfortunately. I'm slowly getting better at the editing portion as you can see in my newer videos. Make sure and watch my new review of this product as it has some flaws working with solar.

@@DrDemp yeah I saw your other video. I actually put up everything and realized it needed batteries and it only came with 1 opener which lead to your 2 videos. Luckily I ran electrical to the gate before installing. Your videos have been great. I would love to see how the bell or camera work with it.

@@DrDemp none get just thinking about it. Gate works off IR remote, using google home for everything, so for about 15 dollars for the el cheapo version think I could get it to work, will order and let you know how I get on www.ebay.com.au/itm/303658900540
