Mi sa proprio di si 😱💕.io l'ho conoscevo già, è cmq molto famoso anche per la canzone dedica di lucio dalla. Ma avevo sentito poco solo la sua versione di o sole mio, ora mi son preso bene con la lirica e la sua versione di "la donna è mobile" mi ha sconvolto..mi ha spazzato via 💕🙋🌱

It doesn't matter if his voice is remastered, unremastered, filtered, or recorded on an electric toothbrush. His genius comes through regardless. He was the best and every aspiring singer can learn. And thanks to UA-cam we can hear him whenever we want. Bravissimo Maestro Caruso.

I once heard Pavarotti say there is Caruso and then there is the others. How true, could not agree more
no one in their right mind would or should attempt to suggest that this tenors voice was not sublime but remember he sang in an era where "modern day distractions were few" and this allowed such genuine genius,s to shine even more brightly.Look at all the Italians who scuptured and and built wonderful churches and cathedrals and all the great painters all of a by gone era whose genius we can only marvel at now and never replicate . the world more recently is a distraction for all the senses and in ways Caruso sang at a time where at the very least his wonderful voice truely had a willing audience ready and willing to absorb this mans undoubted vocal genius.This man sang before MY father was born and I love his vocal artistry to bits.long live enrico I would never dream to diminish his wonderful prowess which is here now for ALL to listen and enjoy with the emphasis on "joy"

@voicemad: fortunately, we still have the old 78's of Caruso, Jussi, Gigli, etc. and technology is improving all the time. I really hope that all the apparently lost overtones in the recordings of these past masters of singing some day can be captured for us to hear their beautiful voices and unparalleled empathy.

Thank you so much for that information. I've waited many years for the digital age to come and rescue the great singers of the past, not least our beloved Caruso. A sound engineer told me 40 years ago that this would happen. In the next 40 years there will be astonishing delelopments

I'm getting a bit tired of the discussions I've had about the digitally remastered versions. I've also upload about 80 Caruso arias/song that were NOT remastered. - I definately prefer those myself, but for someone who never heard his voice before (younger generation) the digitally remasted version can and has been be the entrance to the real stuff. So that's why !
I truly have grown to love him over the remastered versions. Then, I started exploring Caruso and his works. I see that he truly has a magnificent voice. Now, I prefer the non remastered versions myself. And you are right, it's mostly the younger generation (myself included) that can use the remastered as a gateway to what the recording actually sounded like.
@DanyelHawkes: Caruso recorded arias/songs under technical circumstances/conditions that no current singer can even imagine. He sang into a funnel that captured at best 50% of what his voice really sounded like.
This is one of countless efforts to capture his true voice - using modern digital techniques and combining it with new orchestration. But why try to reconstruct his voice - the guy died in 1921 !
Well, that's up to you to decide. You like him or not.
He was, and remains, the best.

I heard it first in a pub in London and when I started buying some old 78rmps I heard the Caruso "Vieni sul Mar". I just couldn´t accept that such a lovely "classical" piece of music could be the same as "Two Lovely Black Eyes". Then I grew up and realised that music is music and if you are a snob about music then you better try something else. There is no room for snobbery where beauty is concerned.

I've got a copy of this Recording Reissued under licence by His Master's Voice on the LP Record The art of Caruso Volume 3 in 1956 and this Recording has been Digitally Remastered as the Orchestra is two Modern for a Recording that was Made in 1919 and I Played my Copy earlier this evening and its so hard to Realise that Europe was emerging from a terrible war that claimed 10 Million lives and who ever did this Transfer has done a terrible job as the Recording sounds like a Electrical Recording and has done no justice to this to this Great Tenner voice
