2:04 I don't know if you got an answer during the stream, but yeah, gun store workers are allowed to block a purchase for any reason, especially one like that. They don't as much as they probably should, but they can.
Was gonna comment this. Had a few friends who worked at gun shops refuse sales cause the person looked shady, or had that look like they weren't afraid of dying. Plus mental health checks are a biggie on your background check for firearm purchase
Regarding your question about the shotgun thing, they can absolutely deny a sale if they think you’re suicidal. Some ranges won’t rent firearms to solo shooters because people have rented guns to commit suicide.
In addition, background checks are needed to buy guns from anywhere. Gun stores aren't stupid. But people are. You can buy guns second hand in most states, and if someone just doesn't care, they'll just be like "cool see ya buddy"
Same here in Canada. We could refuse a sale to a firearm if we think you are drunk, sad, and being unreasonable despite they have all of the doucument needed (Canadian PAL).
Also regarding this suicide is illegal in the United States so if someone has reasonable suspicion that you are going to commit the crime. not only can they deny you, they can report you to authorities. Which most cases they are more focused on rehabilitation rather than the criminal offense itself. so if they were to sell you a fire arm under those circumstances they could possibly face criminal charges as well. But it’s also to note background checks take a decent amount of time you definitely cannot walk out with a fire arm the same day you walk in.
To add on to this, if you look distressed like depressed or anxious they can and will refuse you. I've been refused for looking pretty much too sad while trying to buy one box of 9mm. I'm not gonna blow my brains out with ball ammo it was for targets but I get it. I look, and am dead inside. They don't know how determined I am to be a motorcycle statistic before I'm a firearm statistic.
The answer to the shotgun question is yes on like 100000000 different laws. Generally someone can just disallow you service and kick you out simply because they don’t want to serve you as well as because it’s a gun store if they notice any red flags that CAN stop you from buying a gun
As someone who wants to become a FFL holder and firearms dealer, lots of people should be able and just SHOULD refuse to sell to those who seem that they intend to hurt themselves
If someone really intends to end their own life, then it isn't my decision to intervene or interfere with. I can inform them, reach out to them, offer them help, if the circumstances permit, but, spiritually, it is arrogance on my part to assume I know better than them. If their truth is death, their truth is death. I've made that kind of sale before and I know I'll end up making it again.
The lootbug exploding thing was a reference to Deep Rock Galactic, not Lethal Company. Yes, they do explode, not when you get close but when you reduce their health to 0.

2:06 yes, they are allowed to refuse service to any customer for any reason, and many do for exactly this reason. If a gun shop clerk suspects you'll do anything with the gun that you typically shouldn't, they absolutely have the option to say "hey look I'm not gonna sell you a weapon today, sorry."
There’s a policy in America where you, as a cashier or other retail worker, have the right to refuse service to anyone, so yeah you could call a welfare check on that person and refuse sale
1:50 I know in Illinois some gun stores have whats called a cooldown period on gun purchase Which can be 3-5 business days depending on the store. They have it that way in case you get in like an altercation and get angry or if you're feeling suicidal they delay it so you can think it through.
to answer the shotgun question, gun stores are like any other retail store. they can refuse service for any reason. there are also things called red flag laws where if they feel u are a danger to urself or others they dont have to sell to u at all. but most shop owners have enough compassion to not sell it to u
2:15 yes, licensed firearms dealers are required by law to assess whether they believe the intended customer is going to purposely commit violence on themselves or others. They do not need any solid evidence to withhold a sale, literally just a bad vibe.
Pretty sure gun sellers can just refuse too sell a weapon whenever they want or refuse payment or something. Hope a professional gun slinger provides this info
Yeah, in the US they can, and routinely will if someone’s acting strange. I’ve heard of people getting rejected from ranges too, my favorite story being a furry getting denied from the local range for showing up in full garb.
Canada: any firearm retailer can use their own discretion to any degree to half the purchasing process of a potentially unfit owner. From a dude talking about being banned from possessing weapons only in the USA. To a dad coming in with 2 kids looking absolutely horrified trying to get a handgun To someone who had robbed an employee years prior, anything you can think of that could prevent a gun being bought. Has been used as an excuse to deny the sale of a firearm
So with the shotgun thing first off that person wouldn’t get that shotgun in 10 days because of the background check and secondly some states have this law that’s called the red flag law which basically states These laws allow people to petition for the temporary confiscation of an individual's firearms if that person is deemed to be a risk to themself or to others and shop owned have the right to refuse and most likely won’t let you buy it if you seem like your going to buy a firearm for that or to harm others
1:32 , they can refuse your services, but I don’t believe there are specific laws against that. As long as you have the proper identification and you can buy it, it’s not up to the government as to what you do with it. Now I can’t speak for everywhere, but I don’t know where your gonna get a single shell.
If no one has mebtioned. If a gunstore owner is properly licensed, when applying for the gun, the owner can submit a phych exam before sending the application in. They won't send the app until the exam is approved.
Gun stores can just say no to any purchase, especially for reasons like that. Hell, it's federally illegal to own a firearm in the U.S. if you've ever been a patient in a psychiatric hospital, regardless of the reason or whether or not it was voluntary (I personally wish the hospital part wasn't the case as that's scaring me off from getting mental health treatment even though out of all the ways I might kill myself, a gun isn't one)
Some places won’t sell if you seem suicidal, others don’t seemingly care enough so they will but they sell you a whole pack of ammo, you can’t get one bullet, regardless you still gotta wait the minimum 3-5 days for all the needed work before you actually get it
Blarg, any employee in a gun shop can legally tell you to fuck off and get out of their shop. Any suspicious behavior and ur kicked out most the time. Even if you look suspicious they can kick you out and not sell to you. My local gun shop decided to not sell this dude a gun cause they had a weird feeling about him then a week later he was on the news and shot up a place. Wild times
To answer the question about the shotgun and the slug...yes. Privately owned businesses have the right to refuse sale to anyone. Even working for major sporting goods stores, often the employees at the firarms counter are the only members of the store with a right to refuse sale to anyone that they are uncomfortable with purchasing a firearm. There was a woman who was denied sale of a firearm at a local sporting goods store for the exact reason of suspicions she was purchasing it for self harm. That person was then put into the denial database of the business and an email with her photo and an explanation to not sell to that individual went out to all the branching locations of said business. Things like these happen and there are ways to circumvent them and sales to be prevented in those circumstances. As for the purchasing of a single slug? No dice. Gotta buy the whole box of them or none of them
not just gun stores but any place of business has the right to refuse you no matter what. also slugs come in packs of like 20. you. can’t just get one. pulse a slug would be stupid to use. use the finest shot you can so it hits the most area possible. thanks for listening to my ted talk.
Yes a gun store owner does indeed reserve the right to not sell to a customer they think is unfit to handle the weapon. Unfit being a loose term, but yes that would cover someone that is visibly depressed or angry.
As an American: Yes, the gun shop absolutely can go 'nah bro, come back in 2 weeks', then repeat if you still seem off. Or just blacklist you from purchase. They can refuse sales any time the seller has a bad feeling. You also can't, to my knowledge, buy 'a single slug' from a shop. MAYBE some of the 'exotic' fancy-pants shells might come in one-packs, but those are rarely slugs and often would raise a red flag trying to buy just one alongside a cheap shotgun. Although I will point out gun shops DO have to justify their sales refusals. If they just suddenly start refusing to sell to people in general, they get in trouble. But delaying or refusing a sale is perfectly within rights, especially with an actual gun shop, where there will quite often be a sign in the window or at the till stating they can refuse service at their discretion.
2:40 yes, that is in the game. It’s in one of the bank heist missions where they’re racing back to Trevor’s office thingy and it only happens if you lose the race back. It shocked me too when I first heard it 😂
3:15 gods yeah no it'd be Moustache Man, the Confederate States, DillKozer guy, Moustache Man's government, the USSR. So many things, but almost 80%, Moustache Man.
1:45, Yes they can, also you have to buy ammo by the box. either Red-flag laws which typically prevent the background check from going through if someone makes a report for it. but for States without Red-Flag Laws, it is ultimately up to the digression of the seller to prevent that sale, and gun sellers typically get penalized if the buyers cause harm to anyone including themselves if prevention was readily available.
Lol you gotta fill out a bit of paper work it gets sent to the atf by fax that day when it clears you can then come back to the gun store and pick up the gun you have then already purchased can’t go same day and get a gun maybe rare on a Monday after lunch and someone processed it and maybe in a rare instance that a ton of possiblys to line up in a hour but super rare instance and the atf does a back round chat and yes straight up if they think your gonna harm your self or others they can be like nope
Gun stores, like pretty much any other establishment in the US, can refuse to provide service for almost any reason (long as it isn't discriminatory). If a gun store employee/owner thinks you're about to dome yourself the second you get home with your new weapon, they more often than not will absolutely refuse the sale. However, there isn't a universal/federal law requiring them NOT to, so sometimes it still happens.
Blarg ur prob not gonna see this but yes there are laws and rules to keep those with severe depression, mental illness, or other sorts of fucked shit from getting a gun, and you have to usually do a mental health check and get the actual rights to the gun beforehand, along with background checks. America isn't just yipee I buy a gun now, they actually have laws. Still funny to look at Americans as gun boiz a cheeseburger burger town though
2:01 as a gun owner and an avid outdoorsman, I can answer this. A firearms dealer has every right to not sell you a firearm for any reason possible. And if you have ever been admitted to a mental institution, it doesn't matter if it was for 1 minute or 100 days. You can NOT purchase a firearm. Now as far as slugs go, the smallest box you can purchase is a 5 count.
Any gun store can refuse service. But most won't and even fewer will ask any questions. However if you tell them that you're planning to do that they'll refuse service. And likely privately call mental health services
To answer your question about guns, gun store employees can and absolutely should deny the sale if they have any reason to believe you want the gun to do harm to anyone, including yourself. I've worked at a few gun shops and had a fair number of sales I've said no to. Most were drug related denials, like marijuana, but I did have a few where I genuinely believed the customer was wanting to do harm. When you talk to enough people on a daily basis, you just start to pick up on certain vibes from others. I've never felt bad telling someone no, even if everything turned out to be fine. They can go to another store if they want to, that's on them.
@1:45 About the gun thing. It depends on the state I think. But it's up to the seller's judgement on selling the weapon to the customer. Similarly to how a bartender can cut you off
when you sell guns in the US you’re supposed to like casually talk and feel out the person and you have the right to deny any sale if you feel uncomfortable. but. you know how that’s been going, clearly😭
2:15 yes, red flag laws. A lot of that stigma comes from people who never let a crisis go to waste and only think about fixing symptoms, not the cause of issues.
Not sure if anyone touched on the single bullet part of the question, but you cannot buy just a single bullet, if you don’t know bullets come in packs as small as 50 to thousands of rounds.
To answer your question about gun stores, they can deny any customer service and are obligated to in some cases. If you fill out a form incorrectly, they will deny you service completely, if you say you are buying it for someone else, they absolutely will since it's a strawman purchase which is illegal, and also for these cases they can as well. It's usually up to the discretion of the owner and employees but there are some lines that just can't be crossed when purchasing a gun.
Yes they can. It’s called a “refusal of sale” and any and all gun store employees are required to use their own judgment in said cases. I worked a gun store sales position and did it a handful of times.
2:10 yeah, gun sellers have right to discretion, even if a bg check comes up clean. Ie: cant go in and make jokes about shooting someones house, theyll just not sell you the stuff lol
Here in the U.S. store owners can refuse service to anyone. So it would depend on the gun store owner to make that decision. Some people are horrible and will let it happen. Most Rootin Tootin gun store owners are alright guys.
Gun store owners can choose not to sell a weapon to you for whatever reason they feel. It doesn’t have to be a good reason, just a reason. They aren’t required to serve you, and if they feel like you might do something stupid, that’s more than enough of a reason not to sell a gun to you.
Gun shops can legally deny a sale for any reason if they feel uncomfortable selling you a firearm. If they see a depressed dude walk into the store, they're going to deny any sale.
as an american, it depends where you are in the country... each state has their own laws for that. texas, ur gettin that shi without a doubt just spit some story about a yappy dog that won't shut up or something and ur fine.
I know of instances where in Canada the owner just said "no, you can't have this firearm, I believe you intend to use this firearm for something that isn't its intended use." I heard it once when a man had locked the buyer into the store until the police arrived and arrested him. Or when a person tried to buy a hunting rifle and one bullet and instead the owner just said no and made sure the person didn't go through with it. The last one was actually a friends mother and the store owner was their father. Most country hick thing I have ever seen.
thanks for the content but id like to give answer in case you dont actually know that you can deny service to a customer if you want weather the person looks like they are about to go to war with the world or depressed and wanting to be gone its just depending on the situation you could lose your job or certain people will not be happy
They can deny for any reason because it's a private business but also I don't believe you can buy shells 1 at a time and asking if you can would be a red flag for sure.

1:58 yes they can. If a gun store worker has a suspicion that you are going to use the gun to kill someone, or hurt yourself they can tell you no.
Wait. I was right I about wide blarg and not long blarg. But blarg could widen smth if Yk what I mean.
You should definitely change the channel name to BlargWIDE
What would happen if you didnt pay the doctor after putting down your dog. Will they just bring them back to life
i feel the camping and smores bit 8:14 lol idk about the second part XD
Yes. They can deny sell based on obvious mental health issues.
This is the earliest I’ve ever been. I just want y’all to know…
Frog butt
Yay money printer
8:20 this is the same guy who said it was a couple fault for walking under his ac as it fell.
Gun store owners can choose not to sell a weapon to you for whatever reason they feel. It doesn’t have to be a good reason, just a reason. They aren’t required to serve you, and if they feel like you might do something stupid, that’s more than enough of a reason not to sell a gun to you.
loot bugs explode when you get close to them if you have the right perk equipped. the perk's name is its a bug thing
Gun shops can legally deny a sale for any reason if they feel uncomfortable selling you a firearm. If they see a depressed dude walk into the store, they're going to deny any sale.
To awnser blarg whenever a gun is bought all good gun stores will do a background check which includes mental health evaluation and criminal records
There’s no law, but if a salesperson thinks you’re going to cause harm to yourself they have every right to stop the sale.
I predict next video, blarg will be upside down and long. I hope im right.
*ROCK AND STONE!*
Red flag laws exist. Some areas won't respect those laws....no more need be said
1:45 As an American, we have the right to refuse service to anyone, so to answer your question, yes there is definitely something put in place.
as an american, it depends where you are in the country... each state has their own laws for that. texas, ur gettin that shi without a doubt just spit some story about a yappy dog that won't shut up or something and ur fine.
I'm pretty sure it's my American right to eat a single slug for dinner. Lmao
Blarg: "Jared, cut away"
Jared: "nah I know real humour"
thanks for the content but id like to give answer in case you dont actually know that you can deny service to a customer if you want weather the person looks like they are about to go to war with the world or depressed and wanting to be gone its just depending on the situation you could lose your job or certain people will not be happy
In one of your intros you should say “Blarg wide” instead of live.
Since my prediction was wrong, blarg is gonna gonna be top right to bottom left diagonal instead
Hey bludge I was pretty sad to not see Dwayne the wok not in the corner of every account you have.
I looked it up and yes, if an employee thinks your going to commit game end they can refuse to sell you a gun 👍
American gun stores are allowed to deny service to customers for any number of reasons.
Blarg please just play Deep Rock Galactic so you get the loot bug memes
1:45
Most shop owners have the right to refuse service, but I'd let him have it
They can deny for any reason because it's a private business but also I don't believe you can buy shells 1 at a time and asking if you can would be a red flag for sure.
2:40 funny
