Really nice video! While all your videos are interesting and informative, it feels like you let this one breath a bit, showed your story using really nice visuals. It was a pleasure to watch this one! Love that leaf paining also, letting your artistry show through. Keep it up!
Great video! You have some clever techniques! Maple is very popular in fiberglass recurves. I think all of my Bear bows use maple laminations. That bow should serve you well. I like your workbench too!
You wanted to scrape from the side the twist was bending toward, not away from. I think thats where you went astray. It bends toward the stronger side.
On a scale of 3 to 7 and 4 being the highest it’s a 5. How does this scale work. Is it just thinking of a random number and add 2 minus 6 divide by the number you first thought of and that’s the number. Great video by the way.
I’m not 100%, but I’m highly sure in the 95% sure that I found a downed Amur Maple tree which is a pretty awesome find for me since mostly everything his birch. So I’m looking at harvesting and using to make into a homemade bow.
Artistic the Cello got me. Shame you don't like it so much, but it's all learning I would give about 5,⅛ Looks like there's enough meat on it you could always do an experimental wide limb or pyramid limb short bow and maybe cut some twist out.
Well done Benjamin. I wouldn't call this a failure, but a means to learn what you'd never learn if every attempt was a success. Clearly you're going to experience these issues again [to some degree], and now you're better equipped to deal with them. Looking forward to what 2024 has in store. May you and your family have a great New Year. Isaiah 55 v6-God bless.
I am a huge fan of your rating scale.

Thanks!
Nice bow. Like the maple 🍁 design you did. Steaming inside instead of outside seemed to work better for you. Happy New Year to you and family.

Hope the woodshed is ok! 😂
Maybe you could name this the "ski bow", since the recurves and the width make it look like a pair of skis joined together.
