In Aikido nage is first, although uke appears to be attacking Chiba first, Chiba through Atemi is taking uke's breath instantly so sometime it appears that uke is not attacking hard but that is not the case. Attacking Chiba Sensei can be dangerous. To appreciate what Chiba is doing in this video you must train in Aikido to understand the power and the Shicaco in his technique that takes your "hara". To a certain extent Aikido is a controlling art. don't evaluate it as you would boxing or karate.
Ridiculous. Not one real punch thrown or realistic attack of any kind. How is it showing you anything if the examples of what to defend against would never happen, not even close ?

Uke is swinging his hand behind him like he is throwing horseshoes in a parabolic arc, doesn't accelerate much less deaccelerate which I can't say I've ever seen before. Chiba must have been okay it but the strength or the purpose of the attack isn't clear to the viewer, perhaps the clip's label oversold the strength of the punch.
Do you mean from a boxing perspective? I've trained boxing and cant imagine ever punching that way if was a serious attack. I've also trained aikido and can appreciate the body movement
