  • Thanks to Riz Guevarra and his many hours of work in transforming these videos to a format we can upload.
It has taken us some time to get them all together. We will post these videos in their entirety without any editing.
I believe there is good learning material there for the keen eye.
Again, thanks to Riz and his team that put in many weeks and months of effort to make this happen.
This particular 30-min clip was made in the early 1990's to introduce Aikido to the general public before the days of steven seagal movies!!
It was made to go on Public Access TV.

His body mechanics are at demi-god level.

5:51 I started my Aikido training under the Birankai banner and when my Sensei moved away I dabbled with Tomiki and Ki Aikido and some other Aikikai styles. More recently, and for about the last 5 years, I've been training with a Yoshinkan school (it's great, I recommend it) and this time stamp looks almost *exactly* like a kihon dosa exercise called Hiriki no yosai ichi. I'm always amazed to find such similarities when Yoshinkan is very different from some of the 'newer' teaching styles.

Always good to see Chiba Sensei, RIP. If you were a student of Chiba Sensei ? you may be interested in the new book on Amazon, the life of K Chiba `` The Life - Giving Sword `` by Liese Klein, an amazing book authorized by the Chiba Family.

It seems like every video featuring Aikido has at least one comment saying how Aikido is BS, or a dance, or useless in a real fight - but not videos featuring Chiba Sensei...

      Same with Nishio Sensei.

Aikido is strongly bounded with traditional ju-jutsu. If you don´t see a single glimpse of this bound, then there´s nothing more than floral dance, or ´kabuki´.

you are suggesting that trolls and haters on other aikido channels are basically right? Chiba sensei is the real aikido other clubs other sensei's are just "not real aikido". Bwahahaha!

Who was his uke at 2:04? I believe his first name was Paul and I think he possibly died in a car wreck.

Just a training model. Just like boxers use a sparring partner to work on aspects of training. Not the same as a competitor.
