    I switched from Michelin to Sumitomo when the Michelins aged out. My Class A diesel rode well with them and I never had any issues with the replacement tires. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for that personal experience with Sumitomo tires Robert. I have heard very good things about them from many other sources as well. But I always appreciate hearing a personal testimonial from those that have used them. Thanks for commenting!

    Duane I get it, big time! You have a 300K Class A pusher going down the road at 60 mph. Everything is going well. Out of nowhere you have a steer axle blowout. You might have saved a couple hundred bucks on the tires you purchased. The damage to your vehicle is going to be considerable. I will have Michelin tires on the steer axle PERIOD! They could have a blowout yes. Bottom line check code dates, inspect your tires, make sure that the alignment is correct and slow down. ENJOY the trip! SAFE TRAVELS

    Came here to see what new in tire recommendations. My 2023 Travato came with Nexen Rodians that have mixed reviews. They are probably just fine as they are standard issue on all new Ram promaster vans. The ride is nice and comfortable. I'll definitely consider the Japanese brands after a few years. Thanks.

    Count me as one of those folks who switched from Michelin to Toyo. Earlier this year when it was time to replace the Michelins on my Class A motorhome, you could not find any anywhere on the Eastern Half of the US. We found a set of 6 Toyo M154's in another state with good date codes and had those shipped to our local tire place in Ocala. We are very very happy with the Toyos thus far after putting several thousand miles on them in the last few months. Plus, they were a bunch less expensive than the Michelins would have been.

    I can't speak to motorhomes, but have lots of experience with a variety of trailers. This winter, it was time to replace the GoodYear Endurance tires on my Toy Hauler, after a blow out. I have been converting the tires on all of my trailers (cargo, flatbed, and now toy hauler) to TransEagle ST All-Steel tires over the last few years. I have had zero tire problems on any of them, ever since. The all-steel construction provides a stiffer sidewall compared to conventional steel-belted, run at higher pressures, have much less sidewall flex for less heat build-up/lower rolling resistance, and seem to be more puncture resistant. They are also very reasonably priced.

    For us guys that have 365's on the front we have no other option than Michelin. I do have options for the 315's but I personally don't like to mix brands. Perhaps I will but I doubt it.

    • @RVInspectionAndCare
      @RVInspectionAndCare  2 роки тому +1

      So true. Sometimes you have very few choices when the time comes to replace your RV tires. But the good news is that Michelins are great quality tires. You might pay more than other brands, but you still get your money's worth.

    Thank you for your information!! Was wondering, we were quoted as putting steer tires on front end and drive tires on back. Your opinion and Has anyone else done the same thing? Any comments to this subject, please

    • @RVInspectionAndCare
      @RVInspectionAndCare  9 місяців тому

      If you are putting new tires on a motorhome, there are no front end or drive tires at that point. They are installed in no particular order. However, after a while it's a good idea to rotate tires on a motorhome just like you do on passenger vehicles to keep tread wear as even as you can.

    What Ply should I get, since the roads / highways going west have lots of potholes?

    • @RVInspectionAndCare
      @RVInspectionAndCare  2 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure that the number of plys in the tire is the answer to your problem with potholes. Of course, the best answer to potholes is doing your best to travel on roads that have as few of them as possible. We have traveled a lot of roads on our way out west during the past years and so far we have only encountered a few highways that were what we would call bad. Mainly in Oklahoma, some parts of Texas and a lot of Louisiana. Anyway, we just slow down and do our best to avoid potholes as we go.

    Swapped Michelin for Toyo on a 32’ pusher and steering got squirrely. About to get a new set of Michelin tires for a 42’ with tag axle. Can’t take a risk with a 40,000 lb rig.

    • @RVInspectionAndCare
      @RVInspectionAndCare  4 місяці тому

      That sounds like a good idea. Michelin makes good tires but they also command a premium price for it too. Toyo tires have a lot of fans out there though. Thanks for watching!
