Thank you for this video, just got off the Sun princess two weeks ago and we had a sanctuary mini suite. We enjoyed the accommodations and the Benifits, but we did not get to enjoy them fully because we traveled with friends who did not upgrade. when traveling on a class like that, Be sure that everyone you travel with is on the same level because you don’t get your value worth.
I recently disembarked the Sun Princess and had a Sanctuary Mini suite. It was incredible. I could not image going back onboard without booking the sanctuary again.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 I have done Celebrity retreat on Apex before and have Yacht Club booked on World America. I have a suite booked on Valiant, but VV really does not have a sip within a ship concept. The suites ruin you because you can never go back, lol
Thank you for the vid on Sanctuary. Anything about guest getting preferential treatment when borading at the cruise terminal? Do Sanc guest able to board and leave the ship 1st?
I am about to go on the Sun Princess this weekend and we got a fantastic deal for the sanctuary mini suite. It was only 2,400 for double occupancy on a 7 day Caribbean cruise! I think it’ll be 100% worth it ;)
I just booked the November 16th sailing on the Sun Princess for next year in a sanctuary mini suite for $1,700 per person with only 2 of us in the cabin. I can't wait.
Sailed on the Sun Princess in the Sanctuary area in a Penthouse Suite. Have to admit, it is worth the cost. Having the Sanctuary pool area pretty much to myself from 8am to noon is amazing. The downside is that they say the Sanctuary pool area closes at 5pm, but I found people there all the time, which, having paid a crazy amount, felt petty at best, and really pissed me off.
Just booked a Sanctuary mini suite on the new sister ship the Star Princess. I also feel that I got a great deal on the price during a sales promotion. After working in a factory 48 hours a week for the last forty years, i figure if I want something on a ship, I am going to get it. With the Sanctuary, I am living it up. Question... Do you or others think that the Sanctuary dinning room will have to offer speciality dinning quality meals. With unlimited specialty dinning I imagine that i may only use Sanctuary dinning in the evening one time. I do really like the special treatment and service from the waiters there.
Congrats on booking the cruise. What itinerary? We only dined at the sanctuary dining room once and think the food was better than typical dining room, but not as good as a specialty restaurant. We are quite fond of Crown Grill, Rudis, Teppayanki, and Sabatinis. Have fun planning.
We are on a Western Caribbean. We had Reserve Collection dinning on the Regal last year and loved the service and food there. You got to wonder also is since unlimited specialty dinning is now the premier package, how hard is it going to be to get a reservation at a reasonable time . At least I will have Sanctuary dinning to fall back on .
It's a fairly new concept for the mass-market cruise lines. I lets you get the extra-special treatment and amenities without having to spring for a trip on the more premium lines such as Silversea or Regents Seven Seas
@@brucefrytz8611 I mean it doesn't seem to even be half as special then what the Titainic class system had and what was common back then... Given the fact each class had completely different experiences that was quite unneedy dupped like each class had it's own dinning room that was compltly different. Which under way the classes could only mingle in very few areas. And unless it was the deck it was mainly men only and likely only because they ship makers ran out of space to dup those rooms. Which being this segration was a major safety issue. As demonstrated when the titanic sank killing most of second class and nearly all of third class. So I highly doudt that ship with in a ship could ever do the class system did to that extreme with out extreme expence that I doudt any cruise line today can afford... Not only that but the ship in ships systems don't seem to do anything different then the class already does in those two cruise lines older ships... Which how airlines and hotals make a new class aabove first they just call it something marketable not rename the whole system just to change nothing about it...
We sailed on the Grand Princess and love the window suites, which are beautifully appointed and quite large. However, she has become so old that she creaks and groans and her walls have become thin. We do not cruise go on her anymore.
@@4daloveofcruising Yes, you definitely want to check periodically. When I initially went to book our May 2025 cruise aboard the Sun last August, I planned to just do an oceanview room with the Plus package to bundle our drinks, wi-fi and pre-paid gratuities. My travel agent told me about this room called a cove balcony, which wasn't much more than the oceanview, so I booked it with the Plus package. Then, about 3 weeks later I was on the Princess website and saw the promotion for this new Sanctuary Class on the Sun Princess. I looked and saw that I could upgrade to a Sanctuary Balcony for about $450 apiece, so I jumped on it. The upgrade to Premier alone would cost $210 each for the week, and we also get a HUGE balcony that holds 2 chairs, a table and 2 loungers, access to the Sanctuary Club which is well worth it to not deal with the crowds and the kids at the Lido Deck pools, the exclusive restaurant and so forth. Bottom line was $2700/pp for a room that normally sells for $4K.
I nabbed the last Sanctuary Balcony on the Sun next May in the Med. They had a sale going on, I got a great deal, not much more than a regular balcony, and not nearly what is mentioned on this video. Looking forward very much to this trip. I'm also looking at doing an MSC Yacht Club trip to see how it compares.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 I haven't really decided. I saw a review of the Yacht Club on the Life Well Cruised channel that intrigued me. We would likely do a Caribbean cruise, but not until 2026 as we have this cruise coming up in May, and a week in London next September.
There is still a lot to like about Sun Princess, but the issue is building a mega-ship with "intimate spaces" to attract guests who like small ships, and then not having spaces larger enough to accommodate everybody. It is the same issue that the Prima-class has. Do you typically sail with Princess?

We have the Ascent Retreat booked for Feb 26 / 10 day ultimate southern Caribbean for under 11K including gratuities.

We sailed on the Grand Princess and love the window suites, which are beautifully appointed and quite large. However, she has become so old that she creaks and groans and her walls have become thin. We do not cruise go on her anymore.

10:15 LOL. All you can eat cafeteria food and low end booze and then you work out?? No wonder the workout room is empty.
Would love to experience it....but that price tag just doesn't seem worth it to us.
