  • This loop walk in Glenshee takes in six Munros, three east and west of the A93. The anticlockwise route starts with Glas Maol, Cairn of Claise and Carn an Tuirc before cutting across the main road to Carn Aosda, Carn a' Gheoidh and finally The Cairnwell. A super day with clear tops.

Hi Patricia, Its always enjoyable returning to the Glenshee tops, probably better as a winter venue but either way a great day. Cheers

Nice one Charlie & Mike, windy but clear, I don’t mind that at all. Views were superb and a great leg stretcher getting 6 done. I’ll need to revisit the area on a good winters day as I got rotten weather when I did them🌧️🌧️

Hi Frank, Its a super area in the winter and with the bonus that the road is continually gritted should there be a cold snap. It wasn't warm but I think its probably our old farts blood, hopefully we'll eventually get a summer? Take care. Cheers

Nice one Charlie, good to see you're still getting out and about. You had the weather on your side, if a bit cold. When I did the 4, it rained from the 1st munro. I was in Knoydart on Saturday, and it was clagged in and wet. ATB Andy

Hi Andy, The weather in the east is slightly better at the moment but we can certainly do with summer arriving sometime soon. It's a pity about a claggy Knoydart as you its a magic, remote place that's worth getting a good look around. Take care. Cheers

Excellent video. It's a pain that it's so cold coming towards July but a good reminder that we live in Scotland. I love this area, even with that horrible shed at the top of the Cairnwell. Thanks as ever. Murdo

Hi Murdo, I have to admit we also have a soft spot for Glenshee as it gives a great opportunity of walking through the seasons, particularly when the road is kept clear over the winter months. Cheers

Doesn’t look like there is any snow at all. I can remember skiing on these mountains between 1982 and 1985 with my school. The season lasted well into May.

Hi Mel, Its been a poor year for skiing at all the centres as we just don't see the same levels of snow as years gone by. Global warming I guess? Cheers

@@charliemccartney7055 Even after a rare blizzard the snow does not seem to last for anytime. Looking daily at the Ochils all year, I could count on one hand the number of days Ben Cleuch turned white. Telling anyone under 30 that you once saw an avalanche on Dumyat and they would think you were daft!

Charlie references it, but doesn’t name it as the fourth Munro when looking South at around 1:40. It’s definitely my favourite Munro in Glenshee, but it would add a lot of work, including walking back to the car and skipping on boulders on a greasy day. Haha, you probably know all this though.
