Great video, thank you for sharing your knowledge. After cleaning the flame sensor and clearing water from the inducer motor as well, we're back up and running. Really appreciated.
Great Video and cleaning the flame sensor worked like a charm - I was amazed at how little oxidation could cause this short-cycling to occur. Thanks again for a great video
Thank you! After checking and cleaning flame sensor order some new ones as other videos said that sometimes they just fail. Waiting on them to arrive in cold house so researched other fixes. Came across this and sure enough water poured out of inducer motor just like this video. After re-installing works like a champ. THANK YOU!
Awesome! Glad you're up and running again. Thanks for the post, it makes putting these videos together worth it when I hear they help someone else out.
@realSamAndrew Sorry, I thought someone answered it. My guess is that the inducer motor actually started with the water in it, which caused the pressure switches to close, and then the motor shut down due to imbalance or overheating. Unfortunately, I can't tell now since I didn't check to see if the inducer motor started until after I emptied the water.
I just took everything apart.cleaned everything and put it back together. It’s now working. These goodman furnaces are a piece of junk😂. My AC works good but I seem to have heating issues every winter. thanks for the video.
I had same problem today, i check gas pressure/voltages and flame igniter, clean flame igniter, I check continuity on all switches also 24 volt on safety switches they pass, check 24 volt of pressure switch one of the switches that goes on secondary and drain have no 24 v while running. Went outside and check flue pipe for any blockages also check the drain but couldn’t get the trap out( old rheem drain trap ) it was glued. I should had check water on inducer tho.
I also have problem with short cycling. My furnace doesn't run continuously it run for about 5 min than turns off and then back on until set point is met. I checked the air filter it is clean. I also cleaned the flame sensor, no help. Please any tip?
This is happening to my unit and I believe it might be the inducer motor as well. Did you try just replacing the valves first or did you just replace the j duvet motor off the bat?
I don't see how it started at all. If the pressure created by the inducer is not enough, the furnace should not even light. Once the burners light, that means the pressure check has already passed. If the water was messing up the inducer, how did the pressure switch close in the first place?
The c wire for the gas valve is connected to the pressure switch. So if it doesn’t close unfortunately the gas valve still opens but will cycle off. Gotta love Goodman.
@@jaedoncook3963 I'm confused. Are you saying that the normal Goodman sequence of operations is to light the furnace first and THEN check the draft pressure to see if it's a good idea to keep burning?
Yes, that was my suspicion. We had a very big snow storm a few days before it stopped working and I it's the only thing I could think of. There were no blockages in any of the drain hoses so I'm not sure what else could have caused that much water to accumulate in the motor.
Oh okay because for a second there I was going to bust your chops and tell you you know water does go through the flue pipe but if you had a big snowstorm the inducer probably got more water than it could handle that makes more sense

@shaneperche-fixed-it you never responded to my question 1 year ago. Would you take a look and let me know your thoughts?

Thank you! 6 degree temps in Denver and mine went out. It was filled with water!
Great video! Thanks
Thank you!!
Thanks for the information..I need to know what is the time in a each sycling

Had the same problem, water wouldn't drain from the drain block, backed up and caused a short cycle, Blockage in the drain block caused a short cycle.
I have one like this right now, known water issues too. What was your fix?
I also have problem with short cycling. My furnace doesn't run continuously it run for about 5 min than turns off and then back on until set point is met. I checked the air filter it is clean. I also cleaned the flame sensor, no help. Please any tip?
Just did mine, never figured it would be the inducer motor!!!!

If I heard you correctly Did you say water must have fill through the flu pipe and got in the inducer motor
Thanks a bunch . Fixed my issue. I kept hearing a gurgling sound and pulled off that grommet and water came pouring out !!@ thanks ❤❤

This makes no sense.
Great video buddy
Great stuff brotha
Let there be light!
