i'm so happy you enjoyed your stay here! If you wish to experience the opposite of this, come back at midsummer and stay in the southern Finland - the nature is in full bloom and everything is just so lush and GREEN!
Thank you for watching! We definitely want to come back to Finland haha thanks for the tip! it'll be so cool to experience the lush and greenery. Hoping that happens sooner than later, right?! HAHA! Safe travels

Soo cooool!!! Did you look into any specific resources to learn how to take such great photos of the northern lights? It would be great if you could share. My camera isn't the most sophisticated, but I hope I can manage to get some decent shots 😄
Hi! Trizzy here... thanks for watching. Hope we can help you capture the lights haha! I've been a videographer/photographer for more than a decade and being able to take photos and videos of the aurora truly a special moment. Regardless if you're shooting with your phone's camera, or a digital/mirrorless camera, the key is to have a travel tripod with a ballhead that fits in your luggage, or backpack. If it's super dark dark, the shutter setting (the thing that's like 1/60 or 1/200) needs to go down to 20-30s (if you have an iphone, you can manually set this too). I normally have my iso between 1600-3200 and my aperture as low as my lens will allow (ideally 1.4 to 2.8). Manual focus will need to be used for this because autofocus in the dark won't particularly work since it's too dark. Once your setting is done, set your camera to have a short timer so when you press the shutter button down, there's a 3-5second timer for any movement from pressing the shutter to settle. and with the tripod, it'll help! hoping that brings you lots of great photos and videos on your trip to chase the aurora. Sorry this was so lengthy, but i hope it made sense haha. check out one of my favorite filmmakers/photographers - Erwin Marionneaux www.youtube.com/@erwinmarionneaux he's great at breaking everything down safe travels!
Kiitos for you guys. 😊 Im very grateful you have very great time in our country. 🤗 Our Lapland is very unique place in the world. In the winter it have low temperatures and lot of snow. Only few hours of daylight and if you are lucky you can see best cinema of the world, Northern Lights. In the summer Lapland is best place of the world because very clean air, hiking, biking, fishing and all of nature around you is amazing, Well, and of cousrse don't forgot our best food of the world. Many types of salmon and reindeer is best quality but we also have lot of nature mushrooms and berries with our foods. Best products of the world to vitamins and all other stuff because nightless night have a magig.
Thank you for watching and sharing your country with us. We love it so much and miss it every second we’re not there! We would love to visit Lapland in the summer. You’ve convinced us! Haha we appreciate your positivity! Hope to hear back in Lapland soon. Safe travels!
Hi! Thanks for watching! The coordinates were: 68°46'27.0"N 27°25'02.9"E ... that's entered in Google maps, and it should show the location with a lake, Kota, and the tower platform (in satelitte feature of the map). Hope this helps! Have a great time there. Safe travels!
Thanks so much for watching! You will definitely catch the beauty of the lights from the hotel without the excursion. The excursion just bring you out further to an area with lesser light pollution and the lake. We were able to catch the best northern lights we've seen right from our cabin! Sending lots of positive energy over to you for your trip so you'll catch the lights. Safe travels!
Hey. Great video. Looking to stay in Saariselka in late November. Is there much to do in that town? And was your excursions book at the hotel or separate company?
Thanks for watching! I think for the 6/7 days we stayed was perfect for what's there to do around town. There are several entrances to the National Park so you can hike different parts. One thing we didn't do was try cross country skiing, so if that's in your nature, we highly recommend doing that because there's designated trails for that and it looked like A LOT of fun. Most of our excursions were purchased through our hotel - it was just more convenient for us since when we went it was around the time the world was opening back up from the pandemic so we couldn't find a lot of options... might be different now! Hope this helps. Have fun and safe travels!
Hi. Thanks for watching. It depends on how many excursions you want to do, and how long you’re staying for, where you’re coming from, etc. I would suggest to save at least $1,500, of course if you want to do excursions, save a few hundreds more. Hope you can make it out there! Safe travels

It's great that you had a good time on the Saariselkä. And the biggest thing was that the northern lights showed up for you.Welcome back.

Mother Nature blessed us! Thanks for watching
We just got back from Northern Lights Village, and this was by far the best video to help us prepare
Yay! Thanks so much for your kind words ☺️☺️. Were you able to catch the northern lights?!
Yes, but just 1 of 4 nights, from 2am-3am. And only because of the glass Aurora Cabin.
Most importantly, GO HAWKS! Noticed the proper hoodie.
Haha! Yeeesss!!! Seattle’s now gotten some nice northern lights too… nothing like a Seahawk’s green gleaming in the sky 😄😄. Go hawks!
Thanks for sharing this very informative and detailed video, it’s like I’ve been on this amazing place for free,

Aurora borealis hunting😮,
Aurora is a mystical and romantic name that means "dawn" in Latin.
