- Sequential Prophet-10 REV. 4 analog synth demo featuring sounds, patches and presets. In this demo of the Prophet 10 Rev. 4 synthesizer from Sequential I showcase various preset sounds and patches including pads, plucks, bass, fx, leads and more. This Sequential Prophet 10 demo was filmed at Sequential.
The Sequential Prophet-10 Rev. 4 is an updated re-imagining of the legendary Prophet 5 and Prophet 10 Rev 1, 2 and 3 analog synthesizers. The Prophet 10 Rev 4 has 10 polyphonic voices, 61 keys w/ velocity, channel aftertouch and can be operated in monotimbral or bi-timbral modes (layer/split).
The Prophet 10 Rev 4 also features 2 VCOs (saw, pulse, triangle) w/ hard sync, 1x LFO (saw, pulse and triangle), a 4-pole lowpass filter (CEM 3320 and SSI 2140 modes), 2x ADSR envelopes, mixer, white noise, poly mod, portamento glide, unison, vintage mode, mono audio output, USB midi and more.
The Prophet 10 Rev4 is a legendary analog synth in sound, design and aesthetics. It can sound bright and brash, old and dusty, dark and moody, or everything in between. As a faithful re-imagining of the original Prophet 5, the Prophet 10 Rev 4 is a triumph of the late Dave Smith's incredible synth design. It sounds amazing, and I'm very glad I had the chance to try it -- it is a beautiful instrument in so many ways. If you like the Prophet sound, this is the one to get!

Even with all the VA’s and new analog instruments that have come out, the Prophet Rev 4 and the Oberheim OB-X8 reissues still stand out for their rich, lush sound. What a beautiful, rich sound…and with all that beautiful wood casing. There’s just something so rich and smooth about the Prophet oscillators and filters. So glad that Dave Smith got a chance to reissue this gem.
I got it for my birthday gift i play my keyboard everyday
@@oholm09 I got the 10 too. I’ll never sell it !!
Couldn't agree more!
I got the 5 but may spring for the expansion board next year.
The Raw sound of the Prophet 10, just sounds better to my ears, than any other synth out there on the current market, it's not the easiest to mix on a track but once you get it right, it just sets it's self apart from all the other boards, great demo as usual!!
Indeed the Prophet 5/10 have distinct analog character... can be very gritty or smooth depending on settings. But it always sounds like a Prophet and has a classic, vintage tone which shines through. Amazing synth!
It is incredibly rare for me to say this but...I love every single preset here!
One of those few rare synths where the sound is as huge as its price tag, I'll have to keep windowshopping for a few more years but I'll get a Prophet 5 one way or another someday
Yes someday I hope, too!
It sounds amazing! I'd love one! So dreamy 😍 ✨️ 💖
Absolutely, beautiful sounds and instrument.
"miau" preset is the best!
:)
@8:00 woahhh!
That Prophet 10 is the cats meow 😺
:)
Nice cat chorus at 11:18
para volver loco al vecino xd
Mew! :)
Watched the video and all I got from it was cats “meow”
Well, it certainly sounds beautiful and sometimes pure raw power. I'm wondering whether or not to enter into £4000 of debt!!
Nice patches... Did you make them yourself ?
Hey, I believe these are presets that come with the synth. I tried it when I visited Sequential.
@@synth4ever That's interesting sounded different. Clearly not spend enough time tweaking and going through it lol
@@synth4ever They are different to whats on mine
This video isn’t good for me. I’m coming away from it desiring a P10 of my own. Hehehehehehe!
One thing this model hasn’t got that I would like if I *did* get another synthesizer is the modulation matrix of the Prophet 12. Or am I mistaken?
Hehe... the mod matrix on P5/10 is nowhere near the P12 (or REV2). That would be amazing though if it were!
I’m lucky to own one of these beauties, haven’t gotten to play it recently though :(
Hope you can get some time this month!
Have you experienced any overheating issues?
I don't own it so can't comment on that... I don't think I've heard about any though. Check Gearspace web forum!
Went with a Polybrute for the FX and versatility
Different capabilities but also a great synth!
I like the whole idea....but I can't get past the throwback sound on every video.
You’re joking right?
Well, it is a classic vintage synth reissue so... not sure what sound you were expecting.
Really hoped that first preset felt deeper. Why does this not have a sub oscillator. Weird...... WACK to me. Cool for owning a prophet 10 though.
I don't want to spoil the fun but, there is nothing I heard here that I cannot do with my DeepMind 12..
I love my dm12 beyond words. Im waiting for the behringer pro-16 to hear how it sounds. If it sounds as good as i expect it to, ill probably buy one. I can't justify paying full price for a prophet 10, no matter how much i love the sounds. The dm12 is a little menu divey...the pro-16 wont be. Cant wait to actually hear one
Over the long term as VSTs get better and better these "legendary" boutique synth manufactures a going to go out of business if they don't wake up and offer a better value proposition to the public. $4,300 for a synth that can play no more than 10 notes in no more than 2 parts??? What an absolute joke of a synth. To improvise a run-of-the-mill 4 part composition with different sounds I need two of these? $8,600???? Please.....
Did you ever compare those VST bulshits vs real synths on a good studio monitors? Most vsti sounds like a plastic. With analog you get 0% CPU usage, amazing interface and better creative process flow and always 100% sure that you get 100% of quality in every preset.
You would be correct. I tried several Behringer synths and the sound was not good. My Kurzweil, Waldorf (while it is digital it is still very cool), and my Hammond XK3 sound great. This synth might be my missing piece….
You're a joke
Mono output. Boo.
Fx fixs that
Throw a Meris LVX on it. GTG.
Pretty much every other instrument is mono. Use your imagination like a real artist
