This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Sancho is better on the right and Neto on the left. If you watch Sancho in the Heidenheim game, he plays way better on the right. This is because he is not a winger like Saka or Leao who likes to cut inside to shoot. The same with Neto.
For widening the game,i think Mudryk s better than Sancho 🤔 He s faster n allegedly more explosive, whereas Sancho is more one two fast touches n then a pass, as he is more of control based player.
For Southampton, I think we go with the same lineup with a few changes. We can't afford to be making massive changes just because it is lower lever opposition. We should be looking to win as many games as possible. This is the premier league and anything can happen
Wow! What a review!....GBFC youre an innovative genious, keep it up big man❤ and strongly i really go with that selection i wish to see palmer, neto, sancho and felix all play together
Nice one George! I’d rather see Nkunku and Palmer and Jackson together, than with Felix. But let’s just revel in the fact that we have so many good players right now. Up the CHELS💙
1 thing was clear about that match, we came in smelling blood and went for the kill. We played like who we really are, a team with more talent than almost 90% of the league. As for the team structure itself, if we can get Reece healthy playing that RCB role a la prime Dave a few years back, we’ll dominate almost every game in possession. I do think that we would be a little shaky at defensive cover if Moi plays the inverted RB tandem with only Enzo as I don’t think it’s optimal to give Enzo the cover role and still hope he could contribute as a playmaker. Lavia fits that role to a tee. In this team Enzo is tailor made for the 8 LHS role. He will play his best in that role.
He’s done well to catch up to where Chelsea should be but way ahead where people thought we’d be with him as the coach. If someone said we’d be competing 3 years after the takeover, we’d be happy and technically we were good enough to scrape top 4 last year so I was always expecting a comfortable top 4 finish this year which will give us confidence to then compete for the league next season. So we’re in line with what we should expect post takeover but Maresca got us there ahead of schedule for him
The beautiful thing about Moresca is that he loves attractive football and skills, like those of Palmer and Félix, and gives them the freedom to be creative. Unlike Guardiola, who moves players like chess pieces, as he did with Grealish-one of the best players in the Premier League when he was at Villa-turning him into a bench player.
I wouldn’t be experimenting to that extent in a league match even against a team at the bottom of the league, we have to make sure we win this match especially with Arsenal having a tougher game ( on paper ) against United. We have to keep winning our league games and if we want to experiment we should do that in the conference league
The intelligence, creativity and execution that Sancho and Neto bring was critical. Both Cucurella and Caicedo played different roles than previously. Maresca used Caicedo to teach Gusto about another way to play. Enjoyed the analytics. Made it seem though that Villa was no threat. Even though they forced game saving, big saves from Sánchez and Colwill. Several times Fofana was also overwhelmed. Big difference we converted and scored three. They didn't convert as Watkins sputtered. We had the luxury to field two different teams in mid-week and Sunday. Villa couldn't, playing in CL. It took its toll - travel, game preparation, minutes played, rest/recovery/play another competitive game. In this hectic December period, is when injuries and knocks develop. Maresca and staff will have to load manage: Fofana (out till January), Gusto, Lavia, Neto, Nkunku, Sancho? Versus Southampton, Maresca has rested players he can call up: Gusto, Felix, Nkunku, Madueke, Veiga, Badiashile, Casadei, Mudryk.
I thought Enzo was the man of the match for the majority of the game. Really impressive linkup play on the left and brilliant going forward. This is the Enzo we all know and love.
Keep similar line up. Keep building Enzo confidence as he is world class. Look at managing Cole Palmers minutes with Nunu and Joao helping out in 10 role.
The key things that Maresca did in this match was play Palmer as a left-attacking midfielder and Enzo Fernandez as the right-attacking midfielder. Usually, Gusto inverts as a right-attacking midfielder which makes Palmer play as the left-attacking midfielder. Palmer playing on the left makes him useless as an attacking threat since he can’t cut in and use his left foot to shoot. Gusto also does very poor as a no 10 with 0 goals and 0 assists in the premier league.
I wouldn't ask Enzo Fernandez to play defensively yet. Give him a few more games further forward to continue building his confidence. As Fofana is out, Gusto or Badiashile at right back against Southampton?
I don't think this can work because Collwill for me is a helping CB, instead of a wall, like Van dijk. I mean he s a defender that can provide some long passes between the lines, NOT to fully stop the attacks or being aggressive. I wouldn't put him alone in the box.
We got midweek PL this Thursday, so i hope Maresca would tweak some changes to rest main players so we can use that line up again against Spurs on weekend. My prediction line up against Southampton would be Jorgensen, Gusto, Tosin/Badiashile, Colwill, Veiga, KDH/Enzo, Caicedo/Lavia, Mudryk, Nkunku, Felix, Guiu. I expect at least one of the leaders (Colwill, Enzo, Caicedo) will start again this midweek.
I think there's going to be alot of rotation for that match. Mudryk and Madueke Nkunku start entire defense line changed and Jorgensen to start. This is my line up with a 4-2-3-1 set up. Jorgensen Gusto Veiga Disasi Tosin then midfield It's good time to play Lavia and Enzo then Felix Madueke Mudryk a d Nkunku
So Chelsea clearly has an A and B side. What happens to the team morale and the lineups when we actually start taking European football seriously? The A side players will definitely want to play in UEFA, what happens to the B side players? They’re moved to the EPL? or they don’t play at all? It’ll be very interesting to see, because I don’t see us making 11 changes after each game like this season but let’s see what he does for the Southampton game because the “B” side are the ones that usually play midweek.🤔
Randomly BUT... Assuming that Enzo will be sold bla bla and Paez arrives... WHY can't we put Paez next to Caicedo? 🤔🤔 For the obvious reasons but definitely caicedo will help the kid.
Yes it's something Chelsea need to experiment especially that they're playing bottom of the table Saints. + Lavia won't play two games a week. Rest him for Spurs at the weekend. Trust me that way we would pepper Southampton
we could play Caicedo like that against Villa as they dont play a traditional right winger. Not sure it works if playing a team with a prime left winger
Caicedo, Lavia, and Enzo played in the midfield until after the subs then Caicedo moved to RB, you’re making it seem as if they have to Caicedo playing RB
Tyler Dibling vs Enzo Fernadez ? R U kidding? Enzo Fernadez is trying to get his Real Madrid move over the line. He knows Adrey Santos is coming to eat his lunch. Tyler Dibling could RUIN Enzo's reputation. We can't do that to the man he's a World Cup winner.
@@johannespitkamaki1369 George suggested playing Enzo on the left of a midfield 2. Tyler Dibling (who was once in our academy) plays right-side attacking mid. This would match him up against Enzo. If you had to think of a player-type Enzo has struggled with the most it would be exactly Tyler Dibling. He would literally use our Enzo as a doormat.
@ I agree, misha has potential but he’s just not good enough right now for the premier league maybe a loan, nkunku just doesn’t fit our system, he’s a player that needs a specific system and a specific formation to shine.

@@GBFC george you should also do reaction video of some content from cfc official youtube channel like the zola and palmer chatting video
13:45 you keep saying Gusto but Gusto isn’t in your lineup on the screen
Let’s keep Sancho and Neto as the wingers, the width they provide + the danger they bring is perfect for the way we play
The only two better wingers are MUDRYK and NETO, the other two are second best.
@@UptheBLUES-y3wMurdryk better? No way, man. Murdryk is the least of our wingers.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Sancho is better on the right and Neto on the left. If you watch Sancho in the Heidenheim game, he plays way better on the right. This is because he is not a winger like Saka or Leao who likes to cut inside to shoot. The same with Neto.

He s faster n allegedly more explosive, whereas Sancho is more one two fast touches n then a pass, as he is more of control based player.
The ONLY one who stays is Neto💯💯💯💯
Dude s fast, strong, knows exactly what to do.
Definitely a smart transfer.
We don't need a new attacker. All we need is just an elite world-class CB: Rudiger, Ruben Diaz, or Marquinhos.
Great comment
Correcto🎉
A backup 9 to provide a slightly different profile to Nicolas Jackson would be nice
Yes! And a top class goalkeeper!
The only reason I'd argue is that we lose jackson to afcon.
We also need a GK more than a CB
I can't forget that stunner Mudryk goal vs Heidenheim. A state of the art.
Mudryk s having lately these glimpses of talent.
I d keep him💯💯💯
@EmpireOfLEMBERG glimpses of outstanding, unique perfection.
it wasnt even that good

i feel like this is the approach we should use against the big teams. caicedo inverting just makes us so strong in that midfield
Caicedo is the new N'Golo Kanté we Chelsea are so lucky to have him

I am expecting a lot of the B team to step out at Southampton, keeping freshness for Spurts on the weekend. That's if Maresca sticks to his philosophy
We should be beating them anyway. Yes soton put in a shift vs pool and brighton but still... we must win.
We don’t have a b team, just one squad ☝️
I don't think so. Because this is premier league not conference league or league cup
We made this mistake in the league cup
This is a top analysis video George 💯 would love more of this.

I wouldn't ask Enzo Fernandez to play defensively yet. Give him a few more games further forward to continue building his confidence. As Fofana is out, Gusto or Badiashile at right back against Southampton?
He still makes tackles and interceptions tho
I am also in favour of playing both Felix and palmer centrally, will create more opportunity for scoring goals❤❤

i think it will work now that caiceido went up 2 gear and enzo is back. felix is quality and will come back to defend too so it'll work in my opinion
I want to see sancho and neto again but swap their position.sancho on the right and neto on the left. Wish maresca will test that formation
I think the squad with felix would work v Southampton, in those kind of games we can overwhelm those kind of teams with our attacking quality
More🙌
George if gusto inverts, and Enzo and caicedo plays, there won't be any chance for Joao Felix to play will there?
Yeah it'll either be one of Badiashile or Gusto who'd start in that role if Fofana is out. Could also be Tosin...
