My girlfriend rented a condo in Davao it was nice but they charged 4 pesos more per kw for the electric and the water was outrageous like 2500 pesos a month so anyone looking at the condos check the price of the utilities before you rent it
Hello guys. I have a 3 bedroom 2 bath house already rented in Davao. It's in a gated community with a community center, gym, pool and tennis court. Rent is 16000 pesos per month. It's right across from Bobby's house. Fun, fun, fun. I have my tickets booked for June 6th. Looking forward to exploring Samar Island.
Have fun Smoky . Davao is fun i stayed at the Seda hotel practically connected to Abreeza mall . Its very clean by comparison with other large cities. Davao by square footage is quite large actually. My 3 hour drive there from General Santos was some of the most beautiful scenery Philippines has to offer . Theres a small city just outside about an hour drive through beautiful country called Digos that I really liked . Mindanao cost of living is cheaper overall . I prefer Gen Santos with less traffic and an abundance of markets . Of course its the tuna capital and the drive down to Glan is breathtaking with highpoint areas to stop safely and take it all in . Gazillion Muslim mosques everywhere there obviously the religion of choice. Stay safe
@@robbyrose6904 Thanks. I'm looking for a new adventure in my life and want to make the most of it. Hospitals were a major factor in my decision for living in Davao. I'm in good health, but just in case. If you make it back to the Philippines I would like to do a meet and greet. Have a great weekend.
@@smokymountainmodeler3054 Yes I’m in Cebu Dec 1- Feb1 and again in June generally until I’m fully retired which is 3-4 years from now . So much to do enjoy yourself and if you have any questions i can help with please don’t hesitate to reach out as I’m very well traveled throughout the Philippines .
One of the best kept secrets in the Philippines. We visited there a couple years ago and loved Davao city. The taxi drivers are honest and the jeepneys are small, but clean. It's also much safer than Manila and Cebu. We'll visit there again when we come back to the Philippines next month.
another great video, and thank you guys for providing that information. I am curious about the nightlife in Davao. I don't expect to see anything like a walking street, where it is wall to wall bars and clubs, but dancing is my passion and my favorite hobby, and I would need to find a USA style of discotheque. is there anything like that there, or do they roll up the sidewalks at 9:00 at night?
Night life is virtually laidback and nuanced compared to Manila and Cebu and, even other major cities in Mindanao like Cagayan de Oro or General Santos. It's much more of cafés and music lounges as nightlife such as you find in Damosa, Torres Street and Matina Town Square. There are bars and disco clubs here but are found in hole-in-the-wall places, not much out there. Not much excitement either since there are a handful of restrictions, like liquors not allowed to be served after 12am, or smoking and vaping banned inside establishments (with a designated smoking/vaping area outside), and loud noises not allowed in public areas after 10pm. I mean there are tons of civilian police roaming around. So the kind nightlife you want wont be around for you if you live in Davao City.
Visited Davao (Mindanao) for the first time last week. People are nice. I didn't have the feeling where I have to be on guard all the time like in Manila. Davao is really nice!!
My favorite Home Base location in Philippines is CEBU because of its central location. I can wake up early go to the pier & jump on Supercat Ferry / Oceanjet & in 2 hours i can be in BOHOL or LEYTE & DUMAGUETE...MY TOP 3 Favorite islands in Philippines are CEBU BORACAY PALAWAN....
This was a great video. Very informative and concise. I agree with everything you said about Cebu. I have lived here for 1 year now and it is a very expensive city. Thank you for taking time to make this video. I am a new subscriber.
Davao also has a Chinatown which Cebu City doesn't have where I'm originally from. I'd like to visit Mindanao someday. I have relatives there. Thanks for the info po.
I heard the most beautiful women are in Davao…but also it’s so spread out that’s it’s a little difficult to get to some destinations. Love your channel
My friend, in San Remigio, says their family water bill is 5000+ php, per month. That seems way to high, as, I have heard vloggers say their water only costs like 300 or so php, per month.
This may not apply to everyone but the trick to keeping your budget low in the Philippines is having a home that's paid for. That will eliminate the heaviest cost of your monthly expenses. But again not everyone is married with a good woman you can trust and not everyone can afford to build. Just saying
@metalion1111 THT, I've seen expats who say $500 to over $1,000 per month for gated subdivision home rents. It depends on home size, location and quality of construction. I saw a huge beach house that was incredible BUT was $1,700 a month! Ouch!
The gyms there are very expensive... In Delaware... Edge Fitness has every machine possible with a major free weight room, Multiple fitness classrooms, Tanning, Massage, Child care, and even a Theater to watch movies while on the Treadmill. $20 US a month
whatever u guys said, I agree with u. Davao people r best. No hard feelings for other places but this is my personal experience I came across. Philippines tourism department should promote samal island. Lots of love to Davao ❤❤❤
Hi Roger and ismi Quick question I'm planning to visit the Philippines when I get a chance possibly move there.. I love the movies so my question is are the movies available in English? Because i dont know tagalog or cebuano
There are Hollywood movies being played in cinemas in Davao, basically following the national schedules in Manila. I recommend cinemas in SM Lanang or NCCC Mall Buhangin as the seats are comfortable and clean, plus better sounding.

Just to let everyone know, BGC is much more expensive to live in. It’s like living in a completely different country. Even within Metro Manila the prices vary greatly. If you do a Metro Manila video, I’ll help you guys with the BGC/Makati portion. You cannot generalize all of Metro Manila.
Or the Philippines as a whole . Especially travel destinations . Everyone knows about Boracay or Palawan but theres another level such as Pangulassan islands or Amanpulo my favorite as examples . Living expenses are budgeted accordingly like the rest of the World.
@@MakatiMazz Yes after the typhoon destroyed our rental I’m back to 90k p monthly luxury condo110 sqm in the heart of Cebu . Will let the place rebuild and move back out into the suburbs . You can lease out a 160 sqm home very nice for about 50k p .
it's interesting that you describe the utilities in Davao as being ridiculously expensive, as they are everywhere in the Philippines. running your air conditioner for 8 hours a day in an 85 square meter house, along with your television and charging and other things, could run as high as $150 per month. I currently live in panama, and doing the exact same thing here can easily run $400 per month in electricity.
You guys have to be careful, giving out “cost of living” advice for foreigners. Most foreigners/expats won’t be able to live immediately the same life as a local would, as they don’t have the experience needed to come even close to the low cost of living. I would therefore don’t try to lowball the costs. Where you guys think an apartment for $300 is expensive, the expat would probably spend in between 400 - 700 dollars a month. My point is, before you end up getting hate mail, because of what you had promised, I would rather estimate the cost of living much higher, only for the expats to be pleasantly surprised later if they do find a lower cost of living.
@@RogerIsmiVlogs Yup, I totally understand. But don’t forget, most foreign guys come with a different mindset. First of all, they believe their dollar goes such a long way that they suddenly believe they have become millionaires and, of course, spend accordingly. And second, because they feel suddenly quite rich, they wanna bring their western style of living to the Philippines. And as you know, a western lifestyle cost money no matter where you live.
