Today I gave my little avocado sprout its first upgrade from little glass cup of water to a small flowerpot with proper soil. I grew it from a grocery store avocado pit and I live in NH so it's entirely the wrong climate, by the little sprout has several leaves and is getting bigger by the day. That makes me very happy. It'll never bear fruit but if I can get it to be a content houseplant, that's good enough for me.
I have black thumbs (let's face it, I have black hands... it doesn't matter what kind of plant I get or where I place it in my light-starved house, it dies - even store flowers with the flower food only last a few days) so I'll probably never get to make or have one of these, but I love the aesthetics of them, and it was fun watching the creation. Thank you!
I used to build terrariums out of Glass Jugs for my Mom. Lots of work and lots of broken jugs, but they were really easy for her to take care of.
I prefer growing Spider plants.
But good vid with good info.
I forgot to tell you, that you could also tell Brian, that a Plastic Carboy, used for bottled water, is also an excellent Terrarium.
Easily cut on the sides with a Drimel type tool or if you are very careful, an Xacto knife (very sharp and very dangerous if you aren't very very careful).
Cutting a hole in the side allows easy access, easily sealed with plastic wrap and the neck hole can be stopped with a brewing bung or a cork of suitable size.
I’ve been waiting for this video.
I hope I made it worth the wait. Thanks for watching!
I love that base. Can you tell me where you got it?
I wish I could! I was gifted it a long time ago.
