I was increasingly fascinated by the collection, but when you got to the picture of you looking stunning in Paris and Jean Paul G, I was so pleased for you to be recognised as stylish
Oh thank you! It was truly a magical experience.
It sounds like your mom is around my age. The 1990’s when women wore business suits to work. Back then I seemed go more for whimsical and my favorite designer was JJ. My favorite brooch was a cat standing next to a microwave open the oven door and inside you’ll see a bird praying. A tube of toothpaste, a gold computer, another cat on a shelf with a mouse dangling from his paw. But the ones handed down from my great aunt (a lover of brooches) gave me all her vintage collection she wore in the 1940’s. Mean the most to me. One of hers was a mechanical pencil that hung from a round box pin with a retractable chain attached. In her twenties she worked as a waitress and a customer bought it for her.
Also would you mind spelling the name of the online company you spoke of, when showing your cute dog brooch?
No matter what decade brooches never go out of style. A brooch can speak volumes about its owners personality, where other jewelry can’t.

I also have a brooch collection! I have a few mosaic brooches. In fact, I found a mosaic rosary,from Italy at a thrift store that I had to have. I think my most prized possession brooch is my bubble gum machine! I just love that one, but I do adore all my brooches. Thanks for sharing!!!💜

@@TheGlambassador Unfortunately no. It's painted red with the "bubble gumballs" painted different colors and the "glass" dome that they sit in, is not flat , but a rounded piece of clear plastic. I've tried to find something similar with no luck.

I have a little collection of old brooches...
They were a present from my mom. She got the most from an old Lady she had cared for and the others are from her mum. Since then I buy online new old pieces to increase my little collection...
I'm a beginner on vintage styling but I have always liked the 30 40 50's and found some pieces in my wardrobe that fit very well in that time. I also like all years between 1800 to 1930 but its hard and difficult to wear🤣
How lovely! Brooches with fond memories attached are the best. I think they are a great way to start on the journey of wearing vintage.

That magna pin (magnetic backing) is genius. I will have get some of those-so I can finally wear my brooches on my “me made” outfits. I never have the heart to poke threw the fabric.

I started collecting brooches before I went full vintage so I hardly ever wore them. But now I wear them all the time! Someday I’ll be able do them justice and store them as nicely as you have done
I've been collecting forever (I'm 50). I wear them with full vintage or retro outfits... or with whatever. I'm a mix an match gal, a "whatever I feel like today" gal.
So nice to have that vintage brooches ..

Been collecting vintage jewelry since I was eight, I m 63. Like your presentation without the Hallmark/designer mention cuz sometimes it's all about that instead of creative merit... but me thinks you have a couple of $$ pieces

Hello and welcome! I currently have two ways of storing/displaying my brooches. The first is a board that my husband made for me. It's just a frame with some foam/batting and fabric placed over it. I can poke the brooch pins through the fabric so they hang nicely. The second is just a small drawer built into my wardrobe with a piece of felt fabric. Here the brooches simply lay on the fabric in the drawer. If you check out my "Tour my dressing room" video, you can see both of these.

I collect hat pins and was wanting to find something like it. I’ve looked but can’t find one that has brown hair and looks Victorian instead of 1950s. Would you happen to know the maker of yours? I was going to look it up see if I could find one like it or similar. Thanks
I’m so glad you are enjoying my channel. I believe I found my head vase on Etsy. I agree the darker haired ones are harder to find. I’m always in the lookout for them at flea markets and antique shops.

Oh gosh, it was so long ago. We bought it all when we were in Germany, but I think it was somewhere around €1,300 or €1,400 for everything. The only thing that we bought separately here in Hawaii were the lights.
I just love your collection!! How do you clean your brooches if they are dusty?
They don't get that dusty really. But if I'm going to be wearing one and it happens to need a little love, a damp cloth works well.

I doubt that. They are a dime a dozen. You can find these on eBay or Etsy for less than $30.
The cat with the fish has a large clear area. This would qualify as a jelly belly and yes they are valuable 😀
I have purchased two old broochs with a safety chain ' how do you use the saftey chain on a brooch
Usually you just pin the brooch where you want to wear it and then attach the safety pin somewhere nearby so the chain hangs nicely. Think of how a watch chain looks, it’s sort of like that.
Hi ! Could you be so kind as to give a reference to those magnet you can slip on the brooch in order not to damage fabric ! I love the idea and can't seem to find them, or maybe I just don't know what to type to find them. I only wear brooches on some fabrics and it would allow me to wear them on anything I want ! Thanks a lot.

you have beautiful jewelry 👍 However, your concept of this video is that I was fast forwarding the whole time. I have a few minor criticisms. 1. In a 16-minute video, you talk for a full 6 minutes before you see the first piece of jewelry. 2 Perhaps you prefer to hold each piece in your hand briefly so that you can see it better, because close-ups are tiring . Too bad, I would have liked to subscribe to you because of your jewelry, but unfortunately I was just annoyed. 😒
