A bit of context here: Less than 60 seconds prior, Pau (the drummer) left the stage in tears after being overcome with emotion during her solo "Breathe" - a song she swore she would never (ever) play live. She played this as a gift to the 8,000 fans (many of whom flew to Mexico from all over the world) on the heels of her solo performance of "Black Holes" (a tear-jerker about addiction Pau wrote when she was 13 after reading a magazine article).

The Warning has 4 versions for Enter Sandman:
    1. Straight out cover that made them go viral, released 2014. Kirk Hammett tweeted “the drummer kicks maximum ass’ when he saw them.
    2. Studio version released on Metallica’s Blacklist album. The OMV is a must to watch.
    3. Live version at Teatro Metropolitan with no strings
    4. Live version at Pepsi Center with the strings.
Another great cover is Atlas Rise at Whisky a GOGO, look for it at The Warning’s YT channel. During that performance Dany was 18, Pau 16, and Ale 13. It was the last song after a 2 hour show.

Welcome to the rabbit hole of all rabbit holes. They are 3 sisters who started as trained classical pianists at very young ages and have been writing all their songs since middle school. They have 4 albums already and their super power is performing live. Their ages are currently 19, 22 and 24. They are taking the rock world by storm and have been working their buts off non stop for about 12 years now.

Another great reaction. Welcome to The Warning Army. The reason you haven't heard of them? First, they are young and female. Until now, so no one took them seriously. Second they are from Mexico. Most people don't know that rock n roll is HUGE in Mexico. Third and most importantly. They didn't sellout. They were offered record deals years ago. Every label wanted to change either their looks or their music. Once during negotiations, they were asked, do you want to play in front of 12 or 12,000? Pau spoke up and said, "The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant keepoing our integrity and playing our music the way we want to play it." Then they all got up and walked out. How cool is that? Keep doing The Warning reactions. You won't be sorry.

Paulina Villarreal won the 2023 Drumeo Awards for Rock Drummer of the Year.

This was a collaboration with Alessia Cara for Metallica's 30 anniversary of the Black Album. The assignment was to reimagin a song turn it around flip it whatever just use the lyrics and not a straight cover. They had 8 days to write, record, mix master and send it, all during the hight of lock down with Alessia in Canada and them in Mexico. The music video is really good too.

Pau determined early on that she would not be sitting back there unseen! Great reaction! To be clear, the song is called "Enter Sandman". The only "The" needed is the "The" in The Warning! The band did a straight-up cover of the song in 2014 that first gained the attention of Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett. It is well worth a reaction!

They sound better live than in the studio. Live is their superpower. They are telpathically connected. When Dany has hiccup singing, Pau takes over, on the fly. Ale is the band’s metronone and keeps them on time. Pau talks about practicing with Ale and having to hit the drums in time with Ale’s fingering.

When Metallica ask you to take one of their songs and turn it inside out, upside down and make it into your own creation, but just don't change the lyrics, then this is how you do it. Of all the artists asked to cover a song for the Blacklist album, The Warning is the only one who completely re-imagined the song yet kept the original theme in place. There are a couple of other good covers on the album, but they changed the song only a bit, this one is almost an entirely new song.

Sound is their specialty. Daddy, Luis Villarreal, owned a studio. He and Lalo Plaza, their sound engineer, spend a lot of time tweaking everything at sound checks to get the sound right. This was post-produced from multitrack digital recordings, so it was mixed essentially as a live performance in a studio, but with 8000 people in the audience. They practice in their basement studio, with a mirror in front of them so they see themselves and can work out their moves and expressions. They work very hard on presence, as they work hard on being tightly on time.

I made a comment on your reaction to Disciple about a gifted guitar from a tour partner. This guitar also was gifted to Daniela by a tour partner. Between certain songs, a guitar tech will come on stage to help Dany switch from one guitar to another as needed for alternate tunings (i.e. one guitar might be in standard tuning, one in Drop-D, etc) -- August 2, 2022 in Irving Texas, while The Warning was touring with Halestorm, instead of The Warning's guitar tech coming on stage, Lzzy Hale came on stage with that instrument as a gift. Dany thought Hale was just letting her borrow it. After their set was over, Dany tried to give it back and Hale said "Oh no.... that's YOURS". Three days later, I saw Dany use it for the 3rd time ever onstage in Phoenix.

    reimagined *Enter Sandman* :
DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment!
Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... they made the deadline and they made an OMV for it to boot!
this reimagining and performance were done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original _"Black"_ album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the _"Black"_ album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 _"The Metallica Blacklist"_ album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice.
in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original...
the performances at their "Big 3" 10th Anniversary shows, in Oct 2023, are astounding with the 10-piece string section from Monterrey, DPA/TW's home town...
the string section came out to join Pau on her solo keyboard performance of *Black Holes* and stayed for *Enter Sandman* ... i like their lead-in to ES while the stage was being cleared of the piano and other equipment from Pau's solo performance...
this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of Enter Sandman but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹

We love these girls, not because they're gorgeous (though, of course, they are) but because they're talented, they work so very hard, they are humble, dedicated, take care of their fans and are just beautiful souls. Check out some of their vlogs, some of the Dany/Pau/Ale days (mostly done on Instagram during lock down, as a way of connecting with their fanbase), some of their interviews and you'll see just how generous and lovely they are. Impossible not to love

hi, great reaction. Now you have to react to Dust to Dust/Dull knives, from this same show.
In dust to dust, Pau is the lead voice while playing full drums. The two songs are from the second album, Queen of the Murder Scene, which is a concept album. It's a wonder.
    Greetings from Argentina.

Alessia Cara and The Warning sharing the same label was such a happy coincidence! It still takes some serious cojones to remake a song this iconic and playing it like: "Thanks Metallica for writing this but it is our song now".

With The Warning, if anything, they sound better live than in the studio. The studio tracks are the crisper, “ideal” versions of the songs, but there’s an energy that’s always there when they’re playing in front of an audience. They don’t just turn it up to 11, it’s more like 18.

Great reaction from you and I'm excited to know that you will keep reacting to more of this power trio's material, they will soon be your favorite band too, inevitably!!
That's for sure... It's The Warning!!
Because as you get to know TW better you discover that their music is steeped in various rock styles but invariably it’s pure rock.
And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very personal opinion that their structure, their cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, their endings... All of it is masterful.
The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection, with sophistication predominating.
There could always be other options, but the ones they choose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art.
Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvements and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture.
Each of their pieces can be very different, but always with all the flavor of TW.
It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits.
They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time.
This is the youngest veteran band in the world of rock!!
Without forgetting that they are only three, yes, but three authentic geniuses in their specialization.
Melodically they are the best, without a doubt, because they are the queens of the hook, the riff, the changes of tonality, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages.
And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!!
    The new masters of rock:
    The Warning ⚡
For now I subscribe to your channel because I hope to see many more reactions and opinions from you about my favorite band of all time.
Thank you and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽
    🤘😁✌️
