The new, 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the best road-going Porsche's ever built. But is that enough to see off one of the most competent Lamborghini's in recent memory - the wild, 601bhp Huracán EVO RWD? Steve Sutcliffe drives both on some of the UK's best roads, and then to the limit on track, to celebrate two of the best supercars on sale.

A 992 GT3, a Huracan EVO RWD and a Steve Sutcliffe guarantees a smile on your face!
The GT3 will always be in my heart.
Option of a manual can make all the difference in the world to some drivers.
ME TO !GT3 is still the better and focused car from this two !
Until you drive the evo
Steve summed it up perfectly at the end. It’s not all about the stopnwatch. It’s about emotion and feel and both cars are winners
and +$60K markup and 1 year wait hahahha
Both cars are perfect together in a garage 😍
That’s fine for a GT3 touring manual. Sorry, lap times matter!!
100% agree. Sad at the end of the video to think theses cars will just be around a limited time more. EV's will NEVER have the emotion of these.
@@KosmicHRTRacingTeam I agree. Lap times matter. And brands bringing a crew to make sure everything is perfect is BS. BECAUSE in the real world you just race. You don’t have a team to make sure everything is perfect.
Indeed. This test is not about who's winning or losing.
It is about appreciating two different cars and approaches with one common goal: the driving experience in a high revving normally aspirated engines.
Well done, Steve and the Auto Express crew!
...and the winner is...
Volkswagen :)
This test is about who's winning...Steve, because he gets to drive these cars ☺
Fully agree! Great presentation of two cars being on pair once it comes to emotion….driven both in the last couple of weeks and agree with 99% in this video👍
Two of the best sounding ICE power units ever! Not many in that league.
The Ferrari and lambo v12s currently. The 5.5 na flat plane in the vette zo6 will be in this league as well: but sad not much else. An honorable mention to the 5.0 v8 in the Lexus F cars
@@mvp1431 the v8 in the C8 Corvette z06 is not in this league of sound…
@@overspecced yes the new z06 will sound similar to ferrar 458 which is one of best sounding cars there is
Am I dreaming? This is a for real test right? About to watch it. Just wanted to say thanks, before I do anything else.
It's our pleasure Keith! Hope you enjoy.
@@Autoexpress yea thanks for enduring the torture of this testing
If I was to start a TV show about cars, Steve would be my first call without doubt. Perfect presenter and seriously talented driver. This channel needs more videos out more often :)
“Sweetest things aren’t free” especially this pair.💸💸💸 great review again Steve
The rwd evo is awesome, but if i have the money, i'll take a manual gt3 anytime. 😍
Well, I wasn't expecting to get a little teary eyed at the end.
That gt3 sounds amazing! I thought the V10 would blow the flat six away, but that 9000rpm hold its own. It sounds amazing!
Agree. Porsche GT3 astounding noise.
";-)
Agree, it hold its own. Via speaker they both sound superb. Irl the Lambo sound more raw n powerful thouh
These are like unicorns now .. normally aspirated, rear drive. Add in a manual (GT3 only ..) and you've got a car that'll be worth a mint in the future
The sound of the Porsche is just incredible
Sutcliffe always makes these reviews so enjoyable to watch. Good job Steve!
Thank you for this Steve, also for reinstating the fact that unbiased car journalism is still alive. What a review. Can you get them to send you an STO now please?
Couldn't decide which one I'de have either, then I remembered the GT3 comes with a manual
I prefer the 21st century transmission, personally.
@@overspecced thinking about it now that you said it, Id rather have a Tesla, it is much better in every way, doesn't even need gears
@@jdslfc And no engine sound either.
@@giovannipomarico2035 is that suppose to be good
@@joaoruxa For me, no it isn't, but for some ppl it is.
You can easily tell the difference between V10 and 6cylinder boxer,,, The V10 is just simply amazing.
inline 6 ? This is not a BMW !
@@AndrasMihalyi im sorry boxer 🙂
Both are amazing
@@janneshildebrandt1 Totally agree
Love your reviews steve.
Living our dream drives and perfectly describing it
I'm tingling, your exuberance for both was so warming and beautifully done. Thanks
the GT3 sound's better than the evo. I'll never get bored of hearing it screaming at 9000 rpm.
Overall I would take the GT3 but believe me that big V10 revving at 8500rpm in person is absolutely mental. Nothing quite like it I think only the current lambo and Ferrari V12’s can compare
The gt3 sounds more like an F1 car.
But the lambo sounds more raw.
I do prefer the gt3 sound.
@@epap1375 exactly ! have to be experienced in person otherwise i can see how people think something differently from videos but thats not the case in person. I have an evo RWD spyder (that adds to alot of my experience) and a manual gt3 with straight pipe, the evo is louder, stock, and feels and sounds more thunderous in person!!!! And my gt3 is LOUD
Also the way the evo changes intake pitch nearing redline is very reminiscent of the last 500 revs to 9k of the gt3
both are bliss
No video can ever bring across just how good and sonorous both these engines sound.
Brilliant review! Thanks so much for excellent production.
i had a big smile on my face and a lot of excitement in my heart watching these two awsome cars side by side. cheers mate!
Such a great review !! Thanks Steve !! You're a real car enthusiast
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 great video guys and Steve as always, amazing😃
I love Steve Sutcliffe's reviews. No one expresses the passion of driving better than Steve. Thanks Steve.
More content like this with Steve please 🙌🏾
Get this man a TV show already for Christ sake!! Great review as always Steve! 👍🏼
Fully agree! Great presentation of two cars being on pair once it comes to emotion….driven both in the last couple of weeks and agree with 99% in this video👍
Have a 2015 GT3, never driven a Lambo. Way better than my 2016 GT-R.
Which of the two would you prefer?
Only reason I'm still subscribed to this channel is because of Steve's reviews. Great work as usual!
F’n legends!!
Both cars and Steve
PROVEN Sutcliffe the first and only TRULY NON BIAS auto journalist - absolute breath of fresh air
It's unbiased, get back to school
@@crimsonpirate1710 in my experience, people who routinely plague the comment sections to rectify grammar tend to have a seriously misconstrued handle on priorities in life.
Or more likely, they don't have one.

👍
Great video guys. Going to watch it again tonight haha
Steve is in that top 1% of car reviewers...calm, measured and interesting to watch.
Incredible video. Well done
Wow, Steve, thanks for putting us in the seat of two amazing cars. fantastic, love it. top review.
Wonderful review, bravo!
Someone had a lot of fun ! Great video.
Like always, Steve The man!
Steve!
Videos like this make me sad... we're only years away from seeing these cars disappear.
Thanks for the review.
Let's enjoy them while we can. Thanks for watching!
More from Steve please, just fabulous.
Steve at his best. Legend 🙌
Great video Mr Sutcliffe!
Great review- thanks
Steve is an excellent reviewer, easily the best at Auto Express
Brilliant Steve, as always! So it’s the GT3 for weekdays and the Evo for weekends…..😉
High quality review!
Very nice and emotional conclusion! Thanks guys!
Love your shows Steve 👍🏻
Stunner of a video, epic conclusion and well driven. We have learnt that comparisons to beautiful engineering is so pointless especially when these cars exude so much of passion. Thank you for great motoring journalism 🙏
They sound so good together!
Steve, you’re a legend. Thank you.
Really enjoyed that 👍
I like the sound of the GT3 more than the Hurracan and that kinda surprises me
Porsche's astounding noise.
";-)
Steve must be suffering insane back pain. He is carrying two dying giants in car media. Nothing against that though. More of Steve for us to enjoy
Awesome video! Thank you Steve and the team…I just get so upset with the ending in this and similar videos when it said “…celebrate them before they disappear…”, because I will probably never get a chance to get behind the wheel of a car like that…
Lots of experience track days out there. I drove an Evo RWD yesterday - cost about £100 for 4 short laps. Well worth it, especially as I had a pro racng driver instructor. Being told to go faster when you are at astonishing speeds approaching a corner helps get the most out of the car!
Good to see Steve looking better. One of the best car presenters.
Steve is my hero .. llandow is right next to my office and I love hearing these go around .. can generally tell when Auto Express and other mags are testing 🥰.. I went for the Evo Steve 👍
2 beautiful amazing cars. These are literally my 2 favourite cars
It will be such a sad day when cars like this are a thing of the past ... amazing video, amazing cars, what a pleasure!
Porsche + mr. Sutcliffe = instant thumbs up!
Amazing cars ..amazing review ..amazing conclusion . You choose one of the best two cars on the market .
Great Job 👌🏻
I had the chance, or should I say the honor of driving a 4wd hurican for about an hour on some very nice and smooth winding roads. I've never felt steering so sharp and immediate, and handling which inspired more confidence than I thought possible... it's hard to put into words. And that V10 screaming right behind you made it the most visceral and exhilarating vehicle I've ever driven. And it's not even close. I truly had no idea a level of performance like this actually existed short of formula 1 cars.
However it is extremely low and tight inside if I had to nitpick. And if I were choosing a supercar / exotic for daily driving (and you can daily drive this vehicle where I live in South Florida as the roads are smooth as silk without a pothole in the entire city) there are a number of other cars I would choose.
And yes I know this car wasn't designed to be a daily driver but it definitely can be depending where you're living.
Steve managed to give me goose bumps at the conclusion of his comparison test. As always, Steve brings us magical eloquence to his road tests! Due to Porsche’s silly dealer sales antics, I’ve gone from GT3 to Huracan this time around… Both cars are brilliant. At the end of the day, Lambo brings you Italian flair, style, emotion, & fashion with uncompromising German engineering & reliability. What’s not to like? Love your new watch too, Steve. Well played, mate. Cheers/B
Great comparison, I was just wondering about this
awesome review.
Steve, you're like fine wine mate, keep up the good work.
outstanding review
Not only a good car review but also a great poetry,,
Steve.....great review....anybody know what watch he has on ?
Excellent Steve 🙌🏽👍🏽🍀
Great video, superb cars, all the drama and emotions, and between them you can only choose with your heart, and you won't make a mistake here.
What about seating positions, they seem very different or is it a camera angle?
We need Syntho fuel to keep this dream alive, i´m not gone to change my taste for good cars in this lifetime
Is the Lambo for me. Looks good, sounds good and drives good, what more can you ask for? The Porsche might be better on the track, but seriously how many people track their cars? A nice country drive on the weekend is enough for me.
"How many people track their cars"
Plenty of people who buy a GT3. That's why they buy it.
Both great cars but £45,000 less for the GT3. Would go for a GT3 Touring personally for a more 'daily driver' friendly car.
@@SinanTrance That depends on where you live. Places like Hong Kong and Singapore, no we don't have tracks here. You will have to take it to China or Malaysia. Most people don't bother.
@@Rascallucci That's a weird comment. Neither of those countries have a vast expanse of driving roads (especially Hong Kong) so owning a Huracan is silly too, especially as the more expensive vehicle. You'd be better off with a regular sedan, suv or hatch built for dense city living. If you have the wealth to buy one of these cars you probably have the wealth to track it.
@@SinanTrance That is not a weird comment at all. There are plenty of supercars in Hong Kong and Singapore. And it is not a matter of wealth, not many people would bother tracking the cars. That is just a fact.
@@Rascallucci These cars truly shine on twisty roads, or, for more safer applications, on a race track.
Incredible, beautiful, amazing machinery the lot of them 🖤🖤
One of the best car journalists ever !!
That V10 engine sound though 🤤
My two favorite exotic brands, I had lambos and Porsche’s pics all over my room as a kid dreaming of owning one one day! Maybe both!! The 911 will always be my ultimate pinnacle car for me though
Thank you Steve !
Oh give me the GT3 with the manual gearbox 😎👍😍
Brilliant watch with some amazing sounds! What watch ⌚️is he wearing?
I was wondering the same thing! Anyone know watches?????
Wonderful video.
Yessss! You sir, won the internet today 💪🏻
Very rightly said at the end, we should enjoy it will we can
Great comparison by my favorite and most accomplished driver/reviewer. Hope to see an RS vs STO comparison. That would be the ultimate last hurrah.
And, Steve, it must be said: KUDOS on your physical condition. You look young and vital and years younger than you did even back when I first started watching your reviews in the 650S era. Keep up the good work! :)
Imagine how the gt3 rs and gt2 rs will be!
Beauty video, love Steve S and he can handle a car unlike other journo's
The sharpest version of the GT3 is yet to come, and I can't wait for the GT3 RS to arrive (though that will still take some time). Absolutely stunning. There are videos of it testing at the Nürburgring
Fantastic Production Mr Sutcliffe ... Che Bella Macchinas ... Rightly as You say... they are Intoxicating Naturally Aspirated Machines ... Cheers
Thanks.. i really enjoyed that.
The lambo in white with that stripe 👌
The GT3 will leave the EVO in the dust on the Nurbering track
Well yeah , its more track focused
Epic review.
This was so beautiful I’m almost crying 😭
Huracan is for influencers, GT3 is for car enthusiasts.
Tremendously Vocative
Great review. Great cars. Nuff said.
We need Steve!!
Want to see Drag Race of Both these cars 🏁
