    I saw on Instagram a post of these Arteza tube watercolors this week. Can't remember who it was sorry. But they did 2 separate swatch sheets. One was placed in a sunny room, and another was put in a draw. After 'only' several hours, she compared them, and at least one colour had changed drastically. I think for the beginning artist they are good value for money, but for the professional artist, I would just use the make artwork for pints only.
    Thank you for your review! I'm still thinking about getting some products, so I'm watching every review I can before make a decision!

      I'm like you Belinda - I watch every review I can find before making decisions like this. ☺️ What a great idea to compare colors after a few hours! I need to try that with some of these darker hues and see what happens. Thank you for your comment!

    Hi Ellen... good review, I think you should do more of them. You cover all the points that are important and you are honest about it. The company should appreciate that and offer you more products to review. Someday when I get back to traditional work I would definitely be interested in the paper and pens. I can't honestly say I have ever done any plein air painting, but who knows what the future holds.

      Very kind of you John, thank you! Plein air painting is not something I traditionally do either; barely work outside at all with my inks because they dry way too quickly. But I'm open to anything that allows me to just grab supplies and go!

    That colorfast rating is really confusing. You would think that a higher star rating would mean a greater colorfast rating, but the way you describe it, the two star is higher than a three star. Is that right?

      I agree, David - it is a bit confusing but according to the spokesperson at Arteza, the rating is as follows:
      "+ "-Excellent
      "++" -Very Good
      "+++" -Good
      I hope this helps and thank you for your question!

    I love your channel, but this review wasn't great. I was thinking about buying Arteza. You are not a watercolor artist, are you? Otherwise you would swatch all the paints before using it because it is not possible to tell what color is it by simply looking at it. Paints are always darker from the tube.... Paper seems to be too pricey for wood pulp paper. Is it cotton or mix? Watercolors not suppose to reactivate after they dry on the paper, if they do that means paper is bad. Anyway....The only useful thing was lightfastness it is good to know the marking is reverse.

      I appreciate your feedback. While I admittedly don't have all the answers, I do always make every attempt to help others when it comes to my videos; I'm sorry to learn that I've come up short. Thank you for offering your knowledge here so that others can learn from it.

    Can you dry the paints into a palette?

    • @EllenBrennemanStudio

      Good question, Sarah! I have not attempted to do this so I’m not sure but I will put a few colors together in my palette and let them sit for a couple of days and respond to your question here with what I found out 😊

      Sarah, I wanted to let you know that these colors do not react well to being left in a palette. I placed a little less than a dime's worth in my palette yesterday and this morning when I went to put my brush to it, the color crumbled. I could still wet it and retrieve color with the remaining pieces but it was a frustrating attempt. Hope this helps answer your question :)
