I think it's more likely we'll get a new hunt currency instead of using nut sacks again. Ever since Heavensward we've had a new currency every two expansions, and with Dawntrail being the start of a new story arc, i think it makes sense to move to a new one.
I agree, but still probably a good idea to cap on nuts. If we're wrong, plenty of nuts. If we're right, then you can use them to buy old materia to give to Mutamix.

I was literally just about to say this before I saw your comment. Especially with us going all the way to the New World, it also makes sense in the same way we went from Centurio Seals to Nuts when we went to the First (still kinda scratching my head on why that's what we got in EW, lore-wise...).

Thing about Hunts; we probably are going to get a new currency with Sacks of Nuts going unused for Dawntrail and onwards. ARR had Allied Seals, HW/STB had Centurio Seals, SHB/EW had Sacks of Nuts. It's safe to say DT/8.0 will share a new currency.

That is true, but worst comes to worst, there's plenty of good stuff you can spend Nuts on anyways, so no harm in doing it just to be safe!
they really need to do a major revamp of the inventory, currency and glamour systems. Is really stressful for me to always have to clean everything and keep count of the limit of glamour and such. They either can give us a bigger, more organized inventory or could simply revamp the glamour system, so we could have as much as we want, and change on the go, without the glamour dresser.
I know the spaghetti code prevents this, but I hope they cope wow’s transmog system one day
Sitting at 799/800 in my dresser. I want more space and glam templates. However they want to change it for the better, I don't want to rebuy real money dyes if the base item removes its dye.

Something that is VERY important for crafters that a lot of people overlook. Make sure you gather enough crystals so that you're not spending millions on the MB for them or having to gather them alongside the new stuff!! Your retainers have separate inventory for crystals, so you can stuff them full as well.
The MB on ever server and data center will be a scam. Untill savage, prices will be wildly high. When savage comes out, even higher. 2 weeks after prices will drop. Who ever dictates the prices on the MB is crazy.
@AnghelVick People definitely have this unified rule that everything is more expensive after an expansion or patch drop. Some of it has to do with the raiders for sure, but another factor is the sheer number of players returning. Everything comes down to demand. So, gathering what you can before everything drops to reduce visits to the MB is a good idea and a valuable lesson I learned the hard way with crystals that I wanted to save someone else from.

GEAR: ok folks - yes you can do the coin thing, but for returning players that need lots of causality tomes for manderville upgrades and lots of divine twine/shine for gear -> 660 upgrades, just do hunt trains. There are discords that organize these. from EW hunts you get causality, comedy and nuts. you can get divine twine for 3000 nuts and shine for 2000 nuts. if you run a few a day it can be super fast to get all 19 manderville weapons finished AND get all/most jobs upgraded to 660.
I'n fairly certain that the Warring Triad and Eden completion recommendations from Yoshi P were referring to 6.5 MSQ and not Dawntrail MSQ, as the origin of those tidbits from him were from about 6 months ago, around the time they were teasing 6.5 details. The only source I could find for Yoshi P purportedly telling someone to do them for Dawntrail specifically was a PCgamesN article that also claimed that Zero was featured in post-Heavensward MSQ, so I'm not really sure that's a very reputable source ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't think Dawntrail will use sacks of nuts. Base game had Allied Seals, then HW swapped to Centurio Seals which SB also used, then SHB swapped to Sacks of Nuts which Endwalker also used. Going by that pattern its more than likely we'll be getting a new currency for it in DT that will also be used in the expansion after.

Get a good grind ready that allows you to get white and purple scripts very quickly, so you can grind out all the Master books day 1.
They generally cost 1500 scripts each and there are many of them so you won't be able to buy them all even if you're at cap. So get the items ready so you can turn in for the rest of the scripts very quickly. Don't do your custom delivery until release day too if you're doing early access.
Wouldn't it make more sense to use all or most bicolor gems before starting up DT Shared FATES, as you'll cap gems multiple times doing the FATES anyways?
Yes, I don't think you even access the shop until you've grinded a rank out.
Way I plan on doing it is reaching rank 1 and buying up the riding maps. I'll have plenty of gems left over for the unique stuff still, and will have a nice speed boost so I can put mount roulette on my bar to replace the bikes
Day-1 rewards are also quite underwhelming. They add more with the patches, but initially there's not enough that you'll need more beyond the... 360 x ~15 stones we'll get from just unlocking it all.
Possibly, but the first rank is usually very quick and I want to get as many of the crafting materials to sell as possible
@@Meoni1 Iirc rank 1 is like 10 fates which would be 120 gemstone if they keep it at 12 so you should be fine with 900 imo.

Since I've already leveled all the jobs and am a filthy casual, I will be going through a full NG+ of everything from ARR through EW, including the raid stories, alliance raids, trials, and Hildibrand. Currently in Stormblood and so far, I have one fairly controversial discovery. If you DON'T include the patches, base HW is not as good as you remember. Base Stormblood is much better than you remember. Their endings/patches very much colored everyone's memories of the base expansion, including my own!
Highly recommend that people do this, especially if you're like me and had a prior fantasia addiction and only just now locked down your character.
Oh thank god someone else that agrees base HW is not that great lol. I think a lot of HSW's highlights come in the patches and not 3.0, especially when it comes to dungeon mechanics (though... tbf, a lot of the cooler mechanics got dumbed down for duty support).
I've been saying this for years. HW is not bad but people compare it to ShB level quality but it really just wasn't. I think its highs were higher than SB, which is what people remember, as you said. But when taken as a whole experience, I actually enjoyed playing through SB more overall.
Agreed. While I wouldn't necessarily say Base HW is bad, it is BY FAR the base expansion with the most awkward pacing
I'm thinking Unukalhai & Taynor will be involved and that it'll be a continuation of the Void sidequest from ShB (that's the last time that Warring Triad was required, so that's my guess anyway).

I plan to max out on crystals for crafters, craft a few lvl 90 turn ins for crafters and gatherers, finish EW fates, get some eden mounts, and max out on currencies! :)
inventory savage is my main goal at the moment. Finishing firmament crafts so i can dump alot of the mats am hoarding. Grats on the TEA clear couldnthelp notice the new axe for your warrior, definitely one of the best weap glams going!

Yo, so far I finished ucob, uwu and tea. Was reached out to by some viewers who offered to help. Heavily carried lol, but learnt as much as I could to scrape through. I think people are just sad that it wasn’t logged and I don’t usually film high end stuff as it’s not my audience. Would love to stream reclears some day though :)
Last time that I checked, you can’t get “heavily” carried through tea. Knowing how he gets items like mounts/minions etc on day 1-2 they come out, probably knows a group that pilots. Interesting that there is no log, that’s a tell-tell sign of a buy

I have played every expansion when they released, I had NO CLUE Shared FATE was a thing. I knew about the gems of course, but not Share FATE.
Besides crafting a stack of Orange Juice or something cheap for the +5% EXP. Along with FC food too, any other EXP boosts that can be recommended?
FC buffs but if you level to max at GC you can send your squadron on missions to get the exp bonus which will be 15% over your FC's 10%,
Make sure to log out in a sanctuary (main city,or any place with aetherite) to get a rest bonus exp
Level your main class through the story oncen you max to 100 any job below 100 will get a bonus in exp.
if you have too many nuts from the Hunt, buy the gear and turn for GC seals or level desynth skills for crafters and crystal demi-materia (10K from vendor per crystal) and 3/4 star mats
Dont farm the Credendum Gear 660 IL. Just wait for DT Launch. It will become tradeable for Poetics. Always does, always will. Much easier than to grind for it.

yeah tbh i dont really see the point in even farming high level gear on alt classes atp anyway, it will be obsolete as soon as the expansion drops anyway
It's also way cheaper if you grab any remaining pieces of 650 gear and upgrade it with poetics once DT hits. It's just 100 tomes per one piece, I believe? Considering we also will need, like, 2400 poe for pcm and vpr weapons (both lvl 80 and 90), buying anything we can now (while also leaving a room for additional 2000 cap to exchange for poe), it's going to be a huge discount. Not that poetics are hard to farm, yeah, but still, just a nice little thing :)

Yeah, I don't see the point in buying the crafted gear for Viper and Pictomancer, it'll be way easier to wait until DT and use your poetics

For the Viper, I have a question. In your benchmark test the swords are on her back, but in the trailer the second sword is draw from his waist. Do you think we will have multiple positions for weapon carry similar to the sage's different configuration?
it's probably just that the trailer was custom animated and the swords on the waist meant they could mirror the endwalker paladin look, conceal the new job for a big reveal, and frame the shot how they wanted. The fact that sage can have different carry positions is really cool, but personally I think it's unlikely for jobs that don't hover their weapons in the air.

HIGHLY doubt they'll make the warring triad mandatory for MSQ. They would never make extreme content, regardless of it being old, a must do.
Warring Triad requires no extreme content. People think that because Unukalhai also gives you the quests for Ravana and Bismarck EX, but you don't actually have to do them.
Regardless, Meoni is very likely mistaken. The Warring Triad suggestion was for 6.5.
also, for anyone wanting to do Hidden Gorge for pvp, apparently in Primal it's very active. I traveled from Aether to Primal very late at night on monday and got into a match in less than 2 minutes, and the revival wings people were not there lmao
One suggestion:
Scrips and Bi_coloured gems, even tomestones:
If you are a crafter/ gatherer you will turn in collectables, which will give you scrips so don't cap yourself and loose out on the scrips you get for your turn ins. You might not be able to buy anything with them yet at 90.
You probably will run Fates as you go along in the new areas, which means you will loose out on the gems if you are capped.
And you will run dungeons and roulettes to level, so don't cap your tomestones either. As I said before you might not be able to buy anything new from them at 90 yet.
What some might be missing when you are intending to craft:
capp your shards, crystals and clusters! The one thing you don't want is to buy them in while you are batch crafting to level up or god forbid go out and farm them.
The last day to turn on all your leves btw is the 09.06.2024 You will replenish to 100 til early access if you don't turn in any leves after that date.
Also don't forget your squadron (exp scrolls), your trusty Chocobo companion (buy them some food and onions if need be) and stack up on ventures, your retainers will go on a lot of adventures!
Doesn't the Warring Triad questline eventually lead to the role quests in the Crystarium where you hunt the cardinal virtues? And to progress you have to do all of them? That's where I hit a wall because I'm only comfortable playing DPS. I hope Dawntrail doesn't force me to tank and heal.
Having done all those quests, I think there's a decent chance they'll eventually have a return to that story, but it certainly won't be 7.0, if it's ever even msq.
If you ever did want to do that quest line, maybe consider taking gunbreaker and sage into frontlines, tribal quests, and/or bozja. Those should give good enough exp up to 80 without you having to fill in the tank and healer roles of a party - even if you partied up in bozja the special actions there can mean you're actually set up as a dps who happens to have some mitigation tools.
Honestly, by the time they do pick up the story line, we might have jobs for every role starting at 80+ so no levelling would be required.
The only thing im doing till DT early access is my weekly custom deliveries and moogle tome event objectives
There's so much content in the game it gets overwhelming at times trying to figure out what to do and not to. It's awesome

Craft and sell furniture, people coming back will mean housing decor changing up! Even if you can only make ARR stuff check the MB, a good number of ARR items still sell really well.
preparing for damntrail . go outside touch grass enjoy summer then on the 28th get ready to play.. there is really is nothing to prepare unless you are crafting/gathering for gil.. same cycle different xpac lmao. but yall do what you think its best.
Just guessing of coarse, but I feel like we’ll get new Hunt currency. Centrino seals were for HW and SB, and Nuts have been the currency for ShB and EW. Would make sense if there will be new hunt currency.
Just clean all your inventory and get some free days to play all day the new expantion.

Bicolor gemstones will more than likely hold some crafting mats used to lvl 100 crafts
I first thought, which classes I REALLY want to continue playing and have sorted out there. not that they would not be fun, but I'm just not a healer and very lousy tank...
for the remaining classes I got the best gear that I can use and that makes sense for my playwise.
next I got for my main the brands/marks? for the retainers. Five thousand should be enough, I think. also teleporttickets are about 6ooo in the bank - because the ports in dawntrail should be exorbitantly expensive!
the next few days I then still clean up the storage places. we will probably get a flood of new materials again... I also created 6 new chars right away, so I have storage space - and yes, I am a messi! (this means in deitschland a person who picks up everything and just can't throw anything away xD )
The biggest priority, for those who havent, is clearing the msq. I finished the main EW story but then dropped off basically at the court of troia, so now i gotta catch up.
And also get gear so i can go into troia xD

When was the warring triad called out as recommended reading? I've had it done for ages and was expecting it'd become mandatory while we were still in the EW patches before we had any idea what DT was about, since I thought we'd probably get a myrecidia and void expansion next, but can't remember it actually being pointed out.
my OCD on meoni's inventory was going wild, I hate how I don't have space for everything i want organised neatly.
dont cap the gems to 1000, the vendor items unlock with the level, so if you cap and there's nothing nice to buy you'll lose some gems, so kinda calculate not to go over cap as you start doing fates on new zones

Dont gamble too much on Materia! Hunt trains shower people in materia and the devs will most likely do sharding again at launch so it will greatly lower the demand for them. They will still be good money but not as much as pre EW

My plans for the last 38 days so far is grinding 650 crafted gear and relic weapons for each role I have at 90 and then capping the tomes to buy a level 90 Pictomancer item for when I level that sometime in the launch week. not going to power level it until I need an MSQ break. (like 93/95 or 98 depending on where the story beat feels right.) I am not going to rush the MSQ since I want to savour it.
not doing the 6.55 quests because I want to do them as hrothgurl when it hits.
making sure too to get the Fantasia ready before the log out.

The only prep thing on my menu is to grind the meteion pet from the dead ends.
As other stated Nut sacks are not likely to be used in DT.
And if the fate gemstones are 2 expansions apart (we do not yet know). They will be of no use either. I may try them anyway due to never finished the ShB areas. (I want the baby Amaro minion). But I am under no illusion that they will be used on the next expansion.
Is a new expansion. On a new world. I will take it easy this time and not rush. That way I am not incredibly bored at end game. Nor do I want to deal with fflogs elitist. Too much gatekeeping going on in end game . to the point is silently turning into WoW. I know that requiring ACT is against TOS. But I do not want to spoil someone else game by asking for a ban hammer. I just want to play mine and not be gatekept out.
One thing I am looking forward is that we finally get in PVE the combos in one button instead of several buttons. Freeing space in the toolbar. Something that PVP had for a while. As well as the new jobs. Assuming they play different and Square bothered to give them an interesting job story.
One thing I am NOT looking forward is the continued homogenization of jobs. EW optimized away the fun of many jobs. Specially AST (that became discount WHM) and SAM (no need to mention why). Made SUM boring (is now spells with a summoning skin). Nor I am I looking forward at removing the RNG from AST cards. What's next, remove the RNG from DNC dances?
They also made WAR a healer and removed the cone. Which made it so OP that it became a meme. Hopefully they do not destroy DRK in the next expansion by giving it the same treatment. DRK is the only tank that remains a tank. And not a Healer/Tank combo.
As for the story I expect that 50% will great and 50% will be recycled garbage. Depending on what writer got the job. Music will remain great. Although willl be repetitive at times. And for the love of Zordiark. Don't use voiced songs, in any of the supported languages, as the background music. It becomes annoying really fast. (I am looking at you Ultima Thul). The song is not bad. But listening to it over and over is maddening.
