Nice job. Your picture of the Western Maryland Scenic Railway is in Frostburg MD. Round trip Cumberland MD to Frostburg MD and back. I hope my Z scale turntable turns out just as good. Building it from scratch. Thanks for sharing.

thanks for sharing some happy accidents. Had a great fun to watch this video. The pit looks great.
Besides that, I want to thank you for the hint using a smartphone to make videos. Sometimes I don't see the obvious. So I used my wife's iPad wich seems even better to me for this purpose. And finally i published my first UA-cam Video some days ago.

Very nice build! The concrete color and texture looks great! That photo of a pit you showed looks like it was from the Maryland Scenic Railroad's turntable at Frostburg, MD.
Thanks Paul, I'm sure you are correct about the pit in Maryland, I thought the concrete was just about right for what I wanted.
The pit wall looks great. When you use acrylic fiber paste on plastic you have to stroke the "shiny" surface of the styrene a few times with coarse sand paper and the paste adhere no problem. Or you just paint the plastic grey first. Either way works fine. Cheers.😁

Hi Dennis, now that turned out really well, I’m looking forward to seeing it on the layout. Really good techniques for concrete, I watch Boomer to, and I think you’ve matched him there in a slightly different way.
Loved the airbrushing incidents, I can see me doing much the same thing, I got myself one for Christmas and I’m itching to use it!

The airbrush certainly has it's advantages! One thing I would do differently is seal the concrete before I attempted the dark earth color. I was limited on how much i could work it because the concrete colors were still damp. All in all, I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Great recovery on the cement wall…… I like the effect of the darker color on the bottom edge of the wall. Who’s mat material and what shades did you use in the pit
Thanks John. I believe all the weeds are Martin Welberg. I'm not sure of the exact colors off the top of my head, medium and light greens are my go to.
Will you be controlling the turntable using LCC?
I'm not sure how I could use LCC for control... Hmmm. I've got a couple of different motors that I'm going to try, both are gear reduced. I'm planning to use a simple but good mobile decoder for control.
