I've hardly seen more perfect uniforms in a movie depicting the US Army. All of the insignia, badges, awards, etc. that are worn by the characters in this movie are spot on. They made the garrison areas look pretty accurate too. As for the way it depicted Army dysfunction, it was exaggerated, but not exaggerated all that much.

I always remember watching this trailer on the Happy Gilmore VHS and the other trailers on that VHS were Terminator 2 3-D Across Time & Bulletproof

Not a great film (Steve Martin is a comic genius. Sgt. Bilko is a genius comic character. But Steve Martin is not Sgt. Bilko. Phil Silvers is). But this is a very funny trailer.
