When I hse to work at a convenient store, if you're the only one on shift that is what you are told to always say if someone asks.
Once they leave to go and lock yourself in the monitor room and call another night shift manager.
This is a big rule on night shift. We've had robberies happen, due to people telling customers they are alone and the wrong person hears

When the third customer in the second game walked around after Jack said he had someone in the back, I was really nervous that he was going to walk into the back door, come back, and be all like "liar..."

Eight million months late, but the abandoned hospital game really did well on capturing the weird feeling of being somewhere where long-dead people once roamed. The attention to detail on the chipping wall paint/wallpaper and fallen ceiling insulation was awesome. I'd love to see more from that creator.

Rewatching this and knowing the woman screaming at the end of the 3rd game is actually from a real phone call of a woman being attacked in her house makes this so much more scary...

But she was okay afterwards (I mean, traumatized almost certainly, but she survived) contrary to popular versions of the story. She was momentarily choked but shook off her attacker and the attacker ran. She lived another fourteen years. I hope that information helps make it a little less scary, it makes me feel a little better at least.

45:37 the screams are actually from a 911 call from an old lady called Ruth Price. Lady called in to say a guy had been surrounding her house, and within 45 seconds of the call it's just screaming. I'm pretty sure it's never actually been confirmed whether the call is real or not, but they've actually trained 911 operators using the audio to teach them to always ask for the address first, since operator in the audio doesn't so there's no real way to get her help.
To clarify, she does ask for the address, but does so after asking what's the problem, and Ruth gets distracted looking for the assailant after she loses sight of him, iirc. So she trails off, looking for him, and never gets the full address out.
Point is that if she'd started with her address, they could've had it ready before asking the situation.
