Bhai according to IAF the 5th gen is not silver bullet and the operating costs are highly exorbitant. Idk how pakistan is dreaming about buying two types? We need to invest heavily on low cost solutions like MUMT, SWARM DRONES etc. Lets see what happens in future.

J 35 to Russian flankers airflcraft lag raha hai jiske avionics ,weapons aur design ko upgrade kiya gaya hai.
Badi baat ye hai ki ye log khud hi design kar manufacture kar rahe hai aur wo bhi mass numbers me.
Lekin hamne Tejas jaise ache aircraft ko design to kiya hai manufacture bhi ho rahe hai but bahut hi limited numbers me.
Aur jet engines bhi GE se ham le rahe hai. Wahi par chinese RD33/WS13 engines khud hi manufacture kar rahe hai.
Ws19 will be developed soon for j31 and j35

I have a gut feeling India will face serious bugging from China and Pakistan once these aircrafts are production ready and operated by both. IAF must stay prepared and ready..
AMCA also got approval.. it will be in production too.. just a matter of time.. I also think India did the mistake of leaving Su57 project... maybe USA has played that trick to sell their jets or NATO jets like Rafale.. but I think it was a mistake.. India could have Su57 in hand sooner...

India is a poverty filled nation.
Other priorities like food security and healthcare is the prime concern.
We are 1.4 billion + in population and so take care of such a population takes its toll on the economy.
no way they are close to production. they have built a non retracting wheeled prototype. which means they have to build a fresh prototype that retracts the wheels, test it and only then go to production. this is *not* the production prototype. i guess they have atleast 2-3 years before production. ie they are at the same stage as Turkey's 5th gen. or they could rush into production now, they are made in china anyway
