Well i think Indian Navy is having a different thought process. IN doesn't seem too concerned about Chinese aircraft carriers as Indian Navy maintains a defensive approach instead of an offensive approach. In such scenario, Chinese have to fight in Indian Ocean, and to strike land they must operate within 500 - 1000 kms from the Indian shores. For that Indian Navy is getting direct support from Indian Air bases. What we must be concerned about is mainly their subs.

The problem with Indian defence forces is that we are always reactive and not proactive. Add to this there is no shame to admit that we have one of the most slowest acquisition cycle makes it that much more difficult I mean take the IAF for example, since 2006 they were talking about the MMRCA and finally after 15 years they get 36 Rafales! While people might argue saying the cost and flying cost of a Fifth gen fighter is very high, we have to admit that China has caught up really well with Trust me, I’ll not be surprised if the PAF gets a fifth gen fighter faster than the IAF.

IN won't get rafale in three years as about 160+ jets are ordered by several nations. J-35 won't be available before 2027. These are second prototypes, will be tested vigorously ( 1st batch of j-20 flied over 750 hours (3 times than standard) a year to test the absolute limit which destroyed those airframes in 5 years. Multiple if not half of j-20 crashed due to these testing which helps them to perfect the current j-20 version ). Same will happen with j-35. India should try to buy rafale aircraft patent, start manufacturing it in India with all the systems like what China did with j-16. Moreover India can get various accessories from Israel, UK and USA to implement with the rafale. Now as it's the race against time, it's better to choose something which already developed rather develop something totally new.
J-35 will surely be ready in 2025. There are more than 5 prototype built already, and it is ready for serial production. BTW, none of the J-20s crashed.

IN won't get rafale in three years as about 160+ jets are ordered by several nations.
J-35 won't be available before 2027. These are second prototypes, will be tested vigorously ( 1st batch of j-20 flied over 750 hours (3 times than standard) a year to test the absolute limit which destroyed those airframes in 5 years. Multiple if not half of j-20 crashed due to these testing which helps them to perfect the current j-20 version ). Same will happen with j-35.
India should try to buy rafale aircraft patent, start manufacturing it in India with all the systems like what China did with j-16. Moreover India can get various accessories from Israel, UK and USA to implement with the rafale.
Now as it's the race against time, it's better to choose something which already developed rather develop something totally new.
J-35 will surely be ready in 2025. There are more than 5 prototype built already, and it is ready for serial production. BTW, none of the J-20s crashed.
