I really liked my XSR. Never understood why the dash and fuel cap were offset to the side though. Tech spec tank pads, a Corbin saddle and lower bars were my favorite mods.
I think it's meant to echo the early 1980's no fairing racing US superbikes. On those bikes they used to remove the speedo which was usually paired with a tachometer on the standard bike. This left the tachometer offset. Take a look at the early '80's Freddie Soencer and Wes Cooley video.
I hope I do win the MT-09. But whoever does is getting a fun, fun machine. I currently ride a GSX-S750, and while it's fun, I think the MT-09 would be more fun. Ain't nothing like twisting back on the throttle hard and feeling that front end come up, to say nothing of clutching the front end up, in a closed lot where you have permission to do such things of course.
Will they give the XSR900 the SP package? I would say there is a decent chance of it. They already have done limited editions of it in the form of the Abarth package. I can see more trim levels on the XSR in the future which would likely come with similar things as the Abarth- namely a seat cowl and a headlight fairing to compete more with the Kawasaki z900rs Cafe.

I've looked at those cheap levers and I immediately imagined the lever falling off while I'm trying to brake into a corner. Not worth the safety risk. Either use the stock ones or get good quality aftermarket parts. Not worth your life to save a few bucks.
Best thing about the XSR is it is way more low profile on the street with cops. It’s also a lot of fun to fool the Harley guys into waving with the round headlight😂😂😂😂😂😂
An MT-09 is an "intermediate" give away bike ? Yeah, it's not as bonkers as a KTM Super Duke or Ducati Street Fighter V4, but still ! I'll shut up now !
Theres actually several reviewers that think the mt09 is easier to lose it with then the super Duke. You can really feel the increase in acceleration at 6k. Superduke is a beast, but has a consistent power band.

I really liked my XSR. Never understood why the dash and fuel cap were offset to the side though. Tech spec tank pads, a Corbin saddle and lower bars were my favorite mods.
AFAIK, fuel cap was offset so you can fill it to the brim when fueling on its side stand.
I think it's meant to echo the early 1980's no fairing racing US superbikes. On those bikes they used to remove the speedo which was usually paired with a tachometer on the standard bike. This left the tachometer offset. Take a look at the early '80's Freddie Soencer and Wes Cooley video.
Mt 09 to uppright. Feels more like a mx Xsr 900 more. Sporty😎
Hey Jammy, can you make the same video for the 2024 version?
I hope I do win the MT-09. But whoever does is getting a fun, fun machine. I currently ride a GSX-S750, and while it's fun, I think the MT-09 would be more fun. Ain't nothing like twisting back on the throttle hard and feeling that front end come up, to say nothing of clutching the front end up, in a closed lot where you have permission to do such things of course.
I’ve managed to learn how to chill on the Xsr900, can’t wait to tour on it. If it passes the test, I’ll go full Monty on the upgrades 😜
It's not a touring bike pal it's way too twitchy trust me it's a hooligan bike pure and simple
I like the cameraman’s descriptive explanation
Yammie PLEASE compare that xsr to a Z900rs
Will they give the XSR900 the SP package? I would say there is a decent chance of it. They already have done limited editions of it in the form of the Abarth package. I can see more trim levels on the XSR in the future which would likely come with similar things as the Abarth- namely a seat cowl and a headlight fairing to compete more with the Kawasaki z900rs Cafe.
Nice comparison Jimmy!!!
not cancelling the turn signals was ridiculously annoying for not new riders reviewing bikes.
I love my mt10....but I'm not gonna lie....I couldn't take my eyes off that xsr900 in the showroom. I think I'm going to trade my r6 for a xsr..
I own an xsr900 and I wish they had an xsr with the mt10 engine lol. That would be my perfect bike.
Hello from Montreal, Canada.
I normally take a look at your channel and finally subscribed.
Just a question.
If I enter the give away bike. Will you ship to Canada or, it is not possible?
A salesman of the dealership told me that the XSR map is different from the MT, its slightly tuned down
Nice Review Guys!mybe z900rs cafe nextime?Ridesafe
XSR is purty... But I'll take that MT09 anyday.
Spite! Your turn signal bud! Spiiiiiiite! You didn’t stop at the stop sign! Spiiiiiiiiiiite! Turn signals again!!!!!! Lolololol 👹
This is my dream bike.well, same as the xsr155. I hope i can avail this kind of bike soon
this video makes me grateful for self-canceling turn signals on my goldwing lol
I prefer the XSR, if I'm allowed an aftermarket seat ^^
Has Yammie ever given his thoughts on the 15-16’ FJ09 or newer Tracer 900?
For those model years, both the mt09 and the xsr900 have been equipped with the crappiest LCD displays possibly available.
I've looked at those cheap levers and I immediately imagined the lever falling off while I'm trying to brake into a corner. Not worth the safety risk. Either use the stock ones or get good quality aftermarket parts. Not worth your life to save a few bucks.
I just slap whatever cheap shit I can get on mine, say a prayer and pin it !
Best thing about the XSR is it is way more low profile on the street with cops. It’s also a lot of fun to fool the Harley guys into waving with the round headlight😂😂😂😂😂😂
I always pray and hoping to have a bike
MT09 is the best ever
An MT-09 is an "intermediate" give away bike ? Yeah, it's not as bonkers as a KTM Super Duke or Ducati Street Fighter V4, but still ! I'll shut up now !
Theres actually several reviewers that think the mt09 is easier to lose it with then the super Duke.
You can really feel the increase in acceleration at 6k. Superduke is a beast, but has a consistent power band.
I am ECU flashing my Mt09 2019 soon seem to make big difference to the bike .
@@TheValbunnys Mine has power commander 5, m4 carbon exhaust, k and n air intake. Tuned, with oem quick shifter.
Way more fun. Shoots fire.
Anyone ever compare the horsepower gain from power commander 5 to ecu flash?
I’m in Cali, so they mite enforce smog checks for motorcycles. Ecu flashes are irreversible, so you’d have to buy a stock ecu and tune it down to smog it.
Fun fun😐
@@TheValbunnys about to flash mine with the K&N air filter, and full akrapovic exhaust. It’s an insane amount of power difference
@@jerryp1392 if you flash an ECU you can get it flashed back to stock. Cali sucks for bikes so sorry if you have to detune your ride!
Don't mind me I'm just gonna keep my left signal on and keep turning left lol
I've been eyeing the XSR900. My knee dragging on a liter bike days are feeling done to me but I'd like something that can still get on it if I was feeling onry. Would you say the XSR is sporty enough to satisfy a long time sport bike rider who's more into a mellow to peppy ride through some twisties these days?
I would guess yes. Looking at one for the same reason.
Always hated the two up seat on the mt and lack of upgrading.
Yamaha should introduce xs1 and xs1b color schemes for the xsr models.
Blinker on 3:55
I HATE THAT ! 😂
Xsr feels biger and firmer and more fun🤙🔥
M
Where is manscaped?🤤🥲
Still manscaping I guess
It got shaved off.
It's so weird seeing halogen headlights in this day and age. Very vintage, if you're into that sort of thing
That being said... see me on the streets ☄
Get a Mt09 SP.. you'll see how the fixed the suspension jerky problems.
not available in North America
@@arsonx1 then invest aprox. 1200$ in suspension, plus remap, brembo front brake and your mt09 is ready to chew bigger and more expensive bikes.
@@robertsenzasca2387 I have a xsr700 I changed the brake fluid made a huge difference. Maybe this summer I'll change over to steel braided brake lines. 😀
@@arsonx1 I had a 07 for 4 years and I put front spring tops 1,5cm shorter and sae liquid thicker. To make it harder, but I hardly recommend Andreani kit full suspension and spring
@@robertsenzasca2387 Cool I will definitely look into that. What are your thoughts about buying a salvaged r6 and swapping forks with mt07 or xsr700
Wow I couldn’t disagree more with spites impression of the mt09. You most certainly do not understand that bike my guy
Anything you touch and feel should be of quality, benign parts that make no difference in performance or feel can be low cost. Don't cheat yourself out of the experience by saving a couple dollars, it's never worth it.
