      @gavin3810 I love it. It just fits me perfectly. I rode nothing but monsters for about 12 years and it reminds me of those ergos. I had a Brutale Dragster RR last year, and it performs like a more civilized version of that. The first ride on it I felt faster than on my Hypermotard Sp (which is now for sale, lol). I know looks are subjective but I love it. I don't think I will sell this one for a long time if ever.

    I got my 2022 xsr900 in June and was literally the only one in Ohio at the time. Glad to see the community growing as this is a great motorcycle. Looking forward to some upgrades and new seat from Kelpi, but no worries. Believe it or not I have yet to use the quick shifter and heated grips, so i've still got a lot of honeymooning left to do. Only at 1,000 miles so need to take it in for service. Suspension was a bit stiff out of the gate but seems to be settling in nicely. Fast bike and 3rd gear is a beast.

    I've had the XSR900 since it first came out - absolutely no issues with accelerator. No twitching. Super predictable to control on highest reactivity level. I find the low reactivity level annoying as it's delayed on power per throttle twist. - good in the rain but that's it

Great ergos and love the torque. Ran in with a spirited Mode 3 now use mode 2. All aids on full in Manual mode......grandma mode i know but gives you a nice smooth wheelie if you decide the time is right. Taking my time to get to know and respect the bike, and try and keep my licence. In Oz and the po po are pretty hot. Good luck and ride safe.

    9.25 I think its a solid 9.6 when you factor in the cost of the bike. I still have a 2020 that I absolutely adore as a daily driver and am shocked to see a company like Yamaha take ALLL of the content creator/ user input and make the 2021-23 bikes with this much quality. At first the XSR/ BOLT Heritage project seemed like a side gig for yamoto but now they're perfecting the bikes and putting them in a class of there own. NOW THEY NEED TO MAKE A XSR 1000 (Yamaha please read)

It's good fun around the country lanes around my home town, and works for inter-city Autobahn tours as well. The earlier XSRs use throttle by wire as well, and you have to do a hell of a lot of tweaking (or in my case leaving it with a mechanic forever to get tuned correctly) to get it to work well-enough.
    There is a small part of me that wishes I had waited for a minute and picked up the new XSR, but I do love my spunky old one to death. Glad to hear that the base model is just a fun ride, it took forever to get mine right, and it took a lot of time and cash.

    Same here. I just bought a brand new 22 xsr900 in October and it is also my first bike. I absolutely love it. Already put 1800 miles on it. This thing is a torque machine. I have to be careful not to power wheelie in 1st gear. I’ve even got the tire up in 2nd with precise throttle control. So far I’ve put frame sliders, rear fender eliminator with new signals, and some reflective tape that matches the blue model on the rims. I still want to put an aftermarket exhaust, some engine guards and shorter adjustable levers but it’s still hard finding parts for this because it’s so new and apparently they’re still hard to find. I think I got lucky. I called a dealer and they just happened to get one in the day before that was still in the shipping crate so I put a $500 deposit down and picked it up the next day. If anyone knows a good place to get aftermarket accessories I would appreciate the tip. Overall I’m very satisfied with it. I really don’t have any complaints.

    Sold my RS 660 and bought this new XSR 900 (blue color) for the 2023 season 😊. I hope that I'll have a lot of fun on this one ✌🏻 I found the seat not that bad and hard, when I checked it in the store and it looks just cool 😍😉

      Most every stock seat on most every Japanese sporty bike is total crap. But that's the price we pay for the Japanese quality and reliability. I'd find an aftermarket upholsterer service and add 1-2" of foam to that bottom and shape the butt pan with a bit of concavity.

    I did a test ride on a 2019 MT09 and decided I didn't want it because I didn't like how it didn't feel planted and stable. the front wheel never felt right. along with the snatchy throttle. it just didn't feel safe to me. so I am happy to hear that all of that seems to be fixed. the SC Project pipe seems to be nice. I hate bikes that are to loud. but this pipe at least in the video didn't seem to obnoxious. I wish I could hear a comparison with the stock pipe. how much does the SC exhaust system cost ? and did the owner just put the pipe on and it ran perfect, or he had to do some tuning for the new pipe ? does the new MT09 have the same longer swing arm ? because if not then it probably isn't as planted and stable. I really like this XSR900 but never really liked the seat. I would rather have an extra half inch of padding in the main part of the seat. and the back of the seat a couple of inches lower. more like the MT09 seat. I would hope that there are after market seats for this bike. are there any ? I am temped to by this bike. ( I watched this video two times in a row ) Does the new MT09 SP have the longer swing arm ?

      I've got an '18 MT-09 and I took a demo ride on the newly updated model. Before I had covered 50 yards across the parking lot, I immediately felt the poise, feedback from the front wheel, stability, comfortably-taught suspension rate. It's transformed. It's SO much better.

    • @mikehoskin1674
      @mikehoskin1674 Рік тому

      They don't have long swingarms, thar has nothing to do with why it's a stable bike, it's the modification of the front end that's made it a stable bike. Also yes there are multiple seats or you can get a custom 1 made, I've seen many an amazing looking custom made seat on the 3rd gen.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket Рік тому +1

      @@mikehoskin1674 You might want to read a couple of journalist articles on the updated XSR900 where it's stated many times they have a longer swingarm on the XSR this year, and it's longer than the MT. And yes it does stabilize a bike, it's been stabilizing bikes since the early 2000's when they started stacking the transmission to make more room for swingarm pivots. It's all about angles.

    Yamster, Two question sregarding late model Yamaha ABS w/IMU Systems. Specifically, a 2023 XSR 900 here.
    1. Personally, I like landing with my right foot on the ground. I know that's not considered PRO, but I like the freedom of messing with the shifter at a light. Given the Yamaha system, doesn't the ABS system mix the front and rear brakes? Application of the front should do something with the rear, just for stability. Not entirely clear.
    2.. Given the advanced ABS, do I ever really need to use the rear foot brake? My big wreck of years ago, ('72 H2 2-Stroke) intuitively locked up the rear brakes first, I probably didn't fully apply the front, resulting in a 50' rear skid on the white line in a hard corner before the classical slide off the road/kiss the asphault, end over end. If I had this ABS and just concentrate on the front, letting the bike figure the rear, I would of made that corner. Just to be sure, I upgraded the pads from metallic to the HH sintered. Big improvement in Bite, but unclear if I stop faster.
    Esteemed Yammie.. what do you recommend regarding ABS and manual F/R brake modulation?

    I have a 2017 xsr900, I adore it but it isn’t without it faults, I’m sticking a Nitron rear shock on it soon and getting it on the dyno for a proper tune, possibly fork internals aswell. I really didn’t like the look of the new XSR initially but it really is growing on me. I’d have to get a seat made for it as the standard one is real ugly imo. I reckon I’ll trade mine in for the new model in a couple yrs.
