P.S. Father Klimek, you spoke about Maria Valtorta, I have all her books, reading them bring me so much peace and nourishment for my faith , but on UA-cam their are saying that the Church condemned them , or at least they don’t encourage their reading . But they are bringing so much fruits for my faith…..is it okay for me to continue to read them ? I am lost in my discernment about her and those revelations ?
Blessings, Francine! Thank you for your good words. Keep reading Maria Valtorta, those books are from God and your soul feels that in the immense spiritual nourishment and faith the works inspire. There have been a number of bishops that have given the work their Imprimatur, testifying that it is free of moral/doctrinal error and good to read. The fact that it was placed at one point on the Index of Forbidden books inspires critics to speak against it. But what they neglect to mention is that Pope Paul VI abolished the index and when he was archbishop made Valtorta's work required reading at the seminary, he found it so spiritually rich. Also, great mystical texts, from St. Faustina's Diary to Venerable Maria of Agreda's Mystical City of God were placed on the Index as well. The devil hates mystical writings that can draw people closer to God and so will sow such confusion. Do not fall for it. When your soul is being led closer God, cultivating a deep love of Jesus and Mother Mary, and when individual bishops and popes (both Pius XII and Paul VI) have supported the work then you know it is good to read.
