Swift putting on a driving clinic as usual. This man is 💯 the reason I’m getting into racing minis. Ever since I saw him in a goodwood video giving the big V8 cars a fit and going through corners on 3 wheels. Truly a legend and the king of Minis.

I've been following Motorsport for over 35 years and I have never seen anyone as comfortably skilled as you are with a front-engined, front-wheel-drive car. The way you set it up so 'on the nose' and yet you can hang onto the little rascal! It's a joy to watch every time. Well done.

Congrats on a great drive. Came for for some tips on how to drive a mini fast around Goodwood, but stayed for the great battle with the Lotus Cortina, Galaxy and Alfas. I love watching the battle between the Galaxy and mini. Entertaining as always.

In about 1994 or so I brought my 1989 mini in for a Swiftune 1380cc / Kent 286 / JKD 5sp SCCR gearbox… oh happy days. Should never have sold it.

It really is best this way. If you give the Minis slicks, the V8s have to have them as well, but then they would be able to get a lot more power to the ground and disappear into the middle distance. Nah, leave it as it is. Far more entertaining.

Great driving. Center gauge (Tach?) does not seem to move? Then again my eyesight is not great... Needless to say I am a novice.
Now I see how your near side was dented.
Front and rear of that car are in different postcodes. Willow 3 is being repaired back to full glory as we speak.

Ok what you need to do is just as the Cortina's are getting squirrelly at the apex a gentle push in the direction of travel ought to sort them 🙂
That poor little Cooper just didn't have the legs in the straights, but was showing them it's behind in the corners.
Excellent race by a very skilled driver, I'll bet with a little more 'free license' that engine could murder those fords!, I'm torn because i love both those classics, best of an era.
Mini wanna eatem up Cortina...btw my first new car was a 1970 Cortina $72 month...proving "I could afford a Hanna Ford!" 😎

This is when racing was at its best, nowadays it's becoming too uniformed and quite frankly a little boring, a combination of modern cars and even worse electric cars has made a deserter out of me, I love Goodwood my favourite is the hill climb, but mixed racing still excites me.
Needs more speed on the straights. Try magnesium pistons and magnesium conrods next. The lower the reciprocating weight the more power. If the "rules" allow it of course.......
Giving Swiftune advice is one way to out yourself as a goose.

Mini's Iron Age engine is less able than even the shite Ford Crossflow mit Goofy Lotus cyl head grafted onto on it.
