    We are originally native Floridians, but I havent been to DW since I was around 5 and we are taking our 4 kids next year. I think the 2 younger ones will technically be preschool/school age by then, but I have been trying to look at EVERYTHING to make everyone happy since we will have a toddler/preschooler all the way up to preteen and my husband swears he hates Disney 😂
    I love these tips! Thanks for sharing guys 😊

      Hope you all have a magical vacation! We don’t have such a broad age range to satisfy, so that sounds pretty challenging. We wish you the best.
      Our best advice for working with the toddler/preschooler is to adjust your pace and don’t over do it. If you try to do everything, it gets overwhelming. Toddlers/young children start having meltdowns when they’re overstimulated for days on end (and frankly so do adults). You don’t want your Disney vacation to end in a screaming match!

    Planning a trip to Disney with a 1 and 3 year old in the spring. My biggest concern was their ability to stay all day and nap in the park. The tip about napping in the car is genius 👌. I will definitely be using that one.

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  Рік тому

      Depends on how good they are at napping in the car already, we find that neither child can resist napping when the vehicle is in motion. Therefore, it’s the perfect time to drive to the nearest Chick-fil-A for a large tea or Starbucks/Dunkin for a Coffee and then drive back to the parks. That’s a usually enough time for them to sleep, be workin up by the parking lot attendant , and get excited about going back in.
      Skip naps at your own peril. I have seen and heard things which I cannot repeat! Don’t sacrifice your child’s regular schedule unless you want your family’s memories more tragic than Magic.

      You can rent strollers from Disney if you choose. Also, there’s a company called Kingdom Strollers that I hear about sometimes, but we don’t have any experience with that.
      One draw back for our channels audience is that we live in the area and have no experience with flying to Orlando and navigating everything that way.

    Taking my two year olds in January and I was thinking of two days at Magic Kingdom and one at Animal Kingdom. I am all about the magic at their pace because I know they will love the shows and experience as much as rides. I was going to do a rest day in between park days but seeing how much there is to do I am wondering if 3 days at MK is the best idea. You know toddlers, they could do the playground for an hour alone! Do you have thoughts on that instead of Animal Kingdom or did you find they needed as much rest between?

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  Рік тому +1

      You’ve got the right idea! Magic Kingdom has some great free play spaces, and surprisingly, so does EPCOT, you’ve just got to know where to find them (see our videos on EPCOT).
      Animal Kingdom has the Dino Dig area, which is probably the best free ply space in all of Disney World, and there are lots of animals to check out too, but the rides for littles are pretty limited.
      Hollywood Studios is the worst for little kids in my opinion. No free play space whatsoever. There are some shows that your child might enjoy, but really they need to be able to do stuff-not just sit through shows.
      Also, consider checking out our videos on Legoland and Peppa Pig Themepark. They have so many free play spaces!

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  Рік тому +1

      If you can, then yes! This particular video is a compilation of several visits because we always drive up from south Florida and do nap time in the middle of the day. We find that, with small children, you have more fun when you go at their pace. Disney World is an overwhelming place.

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  Рік тому

      Right now, Happily Ever After shows at 9:00. If you make sure that your child gets a good nap during the day, it’s a strong possibility that it could work out, but as you plan, you may also want to think about keeping the schedule of the day afterwards very light.

    We are going in November with a 4, 3, and 2 year old. What time would you recommend getting to Magic Kingdom? We want to try to stay until the fireworks.

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  10 місяців тому +1

      With small children, we would not recommend staying the entire day from park open until close without a nap break in between.
      Since the Express Monorail and Magic Kingdom Ferry schedule begins 30 minutes prior to Magic Kingdom opening and the Resort Monorail runs from 7am, you can arrive a little before those times to make the most of your morning time in the park.
      Between driving into the parking lot, loading up strollers and small children, walking to the ticketing and transportation center, boarding whichever form of transportation you choose, and entering the park, those preliminary tasks, it can take us between 30 minutes to an hour from the time we actually arrive on property to actually enter the park.
      If you really are just doing one day at Magic Kingdom and you do observe a nap schedule, then you’ll probably want to arrive early. On days where we arrive late, we usually do one ride, grab lunch do another thing, and then it’s time to head back to the van for nap time, but we can usually still use the afternoon/evening hours pretty effectively.
      We usually have a tour-hour drive to get there anyway, so that typically takes most of our morning.

    So I'm going in October with a 3, 4 and 1 yr old. What rides can the 1 year old go on? Can she go on most of these rides you're showing?

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  11 місяців тому

      Yes, the baby can go on most of the rides which are shown.
      You can filter the rides according to height restriction in the Disney Experience app, but I recommend also applying your own judgment. Some rides have no height restriction, but we decided to pass for our baby-Pirates of the Caribbean for example, has a drop, although he’s 18 months now and would probably enjoy it.

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  Рік тому

      We took turns watching him. At this point, we would probably let him crawl around and play in the free-play spaces, but at the time, we felt he was too young to do much.
      Actually, I’m not sure what’s permitted at this park. The only ride that I can think might be a good fit for the baby would possibly be the balloon tower ride, but not sure what the park’s policy is for that ride.

    How old was the baby at this time? How did he do? (asking because our 3 year old and 5 year old really want to go but our youngest is just shy of 4 months old…)

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  4 місяці тому

      Oh man, just a few months. He did fine. The primary things we’d recommend for babies:
      1) plan your activities around feeding and sleeping schedules. Those rhythms are really important. Disrupting those can be a negative experience for the baby and will, in turn, make a negative experience for the family as a whole.
      2) there is a baby station located in each park. They’re helpful for feeding, resting, and changing the baby. You can plan your day around visiting the baby center at appropriate times throughout the day.
      3) Babies can ride any of the rides with no height requirement, but our opinion is that we don’t feel comfortable with taking the baby on every ride which babies are permitted to ride, so make sure you’re familiar with the ride in advance and also apply your own discretion. We prefer only extremely gentle rides for little babies-Small World, Carousel of Progress, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan (MAYBE), Jungle Cruise…. and any of the shows
      You may consider avoiding Pirates of the Caribbean because of the drop. We’ve found that Haunted Mansion frightens our children.
      Hope that helps. Feel free to message us on Instagram as well if you need more help!

    What day did you go? Looking for the least busiest day.

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  Рік тому

      This video is a compilation of visits. I don’t know why day of the week that the crowds are the lowest-probably the middle of the week due to many passholders and weekend guests.
      Historically, if you want to see lower crowds, go in the should months-January, August/September.
      Typically crowds are lower in those months due to kids going back to school, so families are less likely to travel.
      Our wedding anniversary is at the beginning of December and we have typically seen lower crowds during that week as well since it is following a holiday and preceding another holiday.
      If you go in August and September, just know that those are a couple of the hottest months in Florida and it is hurricane season so it may, in fact, rain every day.

    Did you do all of this in one day or multiple days?

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  Рік тому

      We have never done it all in one day. The closest we’ve come was this video: ua-cam.com/video/PPqWgnhZWFA/v-deo.html but full-disclaimer, we were traveling that day with my aunt who requires a wheel chair and therefore we had faster access to the rides that day, but even then, we didn’t stay all day or do everything.
      The other parks you could reasonably do in one day with a toddler (assuming that you only ride what they can ride), but unless you want to be screaming at your children and pulling your hair out by the end of the week, we recommend perhaps taking a couple of days to do Magic Kingdom or just resigning to the fact that you won’t get everything done.

    What Disney parks do your children like the most?

    • @AikenAdventures
      @AikenAdventures  5 місяців тому

      That’s a good question. We plan to make a video about this, BUT we would recommend 1st Magic Kingdom for smaller children as it has the most to offer and then select the following based upon YOUR child’s preference:
      Characters: EPCOT
      Animals: Animal Kingdom
      Shows: Hollywood Studios
      There are rides for the children at each park, characters at each park, and shows at each park, but they tend to be concentrated in this way.
      Hope that helps!

      He can ride most of the rides-Small world, Jungle Cruise, the riverboat, Haunted Mansion, etc.
      I don’t think the Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan or a few of the others would be a good choice because of the movements involved.
