Man I miss her because she was almost like a spiritual grandmother that I never had. R.I.P. to her and her sister. She died a day before my 12th birthday. 😢🙏

Mrs. Cruz you’re mother was drop dead (no pun intended) gorgeous. She’s in heaven now! This song makes me tear up! Just like that song by The Commodores - Jesus Is Love!

I saw her in Kalamazoo in 1965. My very first concert at 4 years old. She had a little puppy on her lap. I have never forgotten as I am now 61 years old.

Back around 1974.. the buzz going around the school that day, was that a famous American music star named "Skeeter Davis" was in town and planned to come out to our school for a visit. hopefully, with enough encouragement, maybe she would perform a few numbers for us! Late in the afternoon about 4:00, several Komby's arrived in the parking lot. (a Komby was a Volkswagen bus that's been painted with Zebra stripes) very common in those days for taking Safaris through the game parks of East Africa. It was nearly dark when we got the word that she was willing to sing a few songs for us. So approximately 35 students and a few teachers gathered on the lawn. She'd only got to sing one and a half songs, before the all power went out !! She started laughing and apologized for "the shortest show on Earth" It was all fine thou, everyone had a great time just sitting around in the dark for an hour or so and talked with her. I wish I could remember why she came to Moshi International School in Tanzania, East Africa. The small city of Moshi, was a launching point for folks who came to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, I wonder if she climbed that mountain ?

This wonderful artist decided to put on a show at Fireman's Park in the tiny little town of Fredericksburg PA, way back around 1976. I'm not exactly sure of the year. We lived right across the highway from the park so I could hear the show from our house! I wish I could remember more from that time, but I can't. If there is anyone out there that remembers the show, please feel free to comment.
