  • I loved practicing Czerny etude since I was little. Now I’m in a teaching position, with more "playing to teach" scenes, having come to realize the charm of Czerny again.
Sometimes I hear that a few people don’t like Czerny. However, I feel like I practiced hard because of the teacher's performance and the pianist's CD. Hopefully you can watch Czerny in this video and have fun practicing. If you could love Czerny. I played with such feelings.
I'd be happy if it could serve as an indicator for your Czerny practice.
After completing Czerny No.100, 30, and 40, we'll be working on other pieces (Sonatine, Bach, etc.).
I'm planning to upload it constantly, so please subscribe to the channel ♪
☆ I place more emphasis on politeness and dynamics than on tempo while I’m teaching. I play at a little bit slow tempo.
☆ I think most people practice without repetition. I hope that the performance will be closer to the form you practice, so I also cut those repeat part.
☆ We intend to shoot at the most easy-to-understand angle for wrist and finger usage. I would be glad if you could refer to not only the sound but also the physical usage. ( My weaknesses and tasks are also clearly exposed though,,, )

It's interesting how Czerny was able to make pieces that had *some* artistic merit from such basic actions, repeated actions, (in this case hitting quickly eight keys with fingers 1-4, and stretching to hit a key with the fifth finger). However, with some exceptions, he's not as successful as he was in the Op. 740, (by far his best set of studies), and nowhere close to Chopin, Liszt, Alkan, etc.

Thanks for much for this insight, i am studying Op 299 and have the book for Op 740 when i am done. As a side note, i completed studying all 24 Chopin Etudes and am studying Czerny now. It's usually not in that order but i have a problem with my right hand thumb passing technique from an injury i suffered many decades ago so i couldn't master Chopin's etudes and stopped and trying to solve my thumb passing problem with Czerny. I don't know why i have this problem exactly i don't know if it is a bad habit developped when i relearned to use my thumb during convalescence after the injury or if it is a scar tissue in my joint that is ruining my thumb ability. It's a strange problem that i only have with the right hand thumb.

@@Manx123Troll, It's not that simple. I am good enough to have completed all 24 Chopin etudes, have you ? If not STFU.
My problem is more at an advanced level of thumb passing due to a basketball injury i sustained many decades ago.
