There wasn't anything controversial about the fight. The problem is that we allow guys spend 2 minutes trying to get the takedown and another 3 mins doing nothing once the opponent down. This is a fight, the goal is to hurt that person in an attempt to finish. Storely shouldn't have been allowed to Burn rounds trying to take mvp down. It's was a joke and in no way did he prove he was better than mvp in anyway. Now you set a precedent that someone can win buy doing nothing but holding a guy.

He gives a good testimony in the middle of the interview. How Joe Rogan has been a huge contributed to the growth of UFC and MMA in general. By always making it a point to explain what is taking place on the ground. Ultimately educating new viewers to the sometimes non-obvious techniques of jiujitsu.
ONEs rulset and judging continues to be the best in MMA. They dont score rounds in MMA. They judge the fight as a whole and who does more damage. Laying on someone and holding them down doesn't mean they're the better fighter. The rules need to change.
plus they dont have these stupid rules that only protect wrestlers likle no kicking or kneeing a grounded opponent

I don't blame you for not remembering that boring ass fight, but there was hardly any wrestling to stall the fight... they stalled the fight dancing around each other and throwing jabs from 5ft away from each other.
Fighting should be about winning the fight and not at winning at the rules so long as you're not breaking the rules. It's impressive how one person can win by getting beat up and not landing a single strike on their opponent. Wrestling is defensive move unless it can be turned into an offensive.
thats the biggest issue when signing NCAA wrestlers, they are still raw in their MMA career and they would use their 1 dimensional skill which makes sense and to hold them. Still looking for the next Pico/DC but they are a rare one.
Pico and dc are great athletes in general. I believe dc was given a scholarship to lsu for American football and dc was an olympian. And pico was nearly an olympian. Excelled in the international pankration and was a golden gloves winner

Bellator has no control on how fights are scored the athletic commission does
He literally did no damage holding down MVP, no ground and pound, no elbows, nothing.
And MVP literally did nothing to get up. MVP has one of the worst padded records of all MMA. The one time he got put up against talent, he got knocked out. Coker has fed him nothing hit unknown cans and over the hill journeymen. Put him against anyone in UFC or ONE FC top 15, not even top 5 and he gets smashes and sent back to the b league like Eddie Alvarez

I think he does take the fights seriously but unlike a lot of other fighters he doesn't just want to win he wants to entertain. And he's far from lazy he may have a style that appears lazy but he trains about 7 hours a day and has been competing in kickboxing since he was like 10 and has won what, all of his fights expect 2? Takeddowns don't win fights but it just make MVP wanna be better then then just giving him this win. He would get creamed by someone who's actually trying to inflict damage on the ground. Technically he out struck him significantly but he got easily taken down and held. He can't be having that happen to him if he ever wants to win the gold.

How is it controversial wrestlers almost always beat strikers. If u are going to fight a great striker your best gameplan to win the fight is to keep taking him to the ground n lay n pray with some ground n pound mixed in.

You don't understand how hard it is to catchup to wrestlers that have been wrestling since there pre-teen years though. Unless you're a generational athlete like GSP it's almost impossible to make up the difference in years when you start picking up wrestling in your 20s like MVP and many other strikers

There was NO controversy. Michael Page can't wrestle and Logan Storley won the fight. The fight sucked and it was almost just a wrestling match, but nonetheless Logan won. There's a reason the UFC is the #1 promotion in the world. Its because they don't sign fighters who fight like Logan anymore. I love the ground game, but you need to fight like Khabib.

That's not a faight , fighting involves strikes and or submissions , wrestling is physically controlling someone it's not fighting it can be used to advance in fighting to obtain better positioning ground-and-pound but other than that your wrestling has to be combined with your striking or you would receive a yellow card for stalling, Paul Daley is Shady he's been a cheater since day one he was talented kick boxer he just didn't have the cardio or the morals to fight fair he was always eye poking or kicking the nuts he's a character

I see where Page is coming from, but, much like Usman, Nurmagomedov, the core criteria isnt damage. It's control. If youre doing 'damage' but your opponent is still controlling the fight, its pace, and what you can do in the fight, youre losing that fight. Full stop. Sucks, but much like Adesanya's most recent loss at 205, ya gotta learn how to get guys off of ya. We keep saying this is mma; wrestling is one aspect of it; if you lose at that and your fight is dictated by how much youre lacking in that aspect, your opponent has earned the w. These are frustrating, boring fights, but this is mma, and this is also why wrestlers are so dominant in the sport, because strikers think stand up is all that fights should be scored on.
