Charioteer is an awesome td because of that gun, the speed and the turret. I almost like it more than a hellcat which is one of my all-time favorites. Turreted tds are the best tanks because of the firepower they have.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who loses 7 or more games in a row sometimes, and I almost never have food or cola, whatever,or large repair/med kits, maybe 25% of the time And yes, communication is crucial to winning, not essential but it really does help, it helps a lot more than when someone has the mod that shows the percentage chance of winning or losing and that player announcing in chat before the countdown runs out that it's a loss and GG and all that nonsense, I hate when people do that, had a guy do it last night and we kicked the a$$ off the enemy team
personally id sell those large consumables and leave like 1 or 2 automatic fire extinguishers. i feel that the 10k credits is worth far more than the niche situation when that 10% repair speed stops you from getting perma tracked or when a shot destroys multiple modules.
Charioteer was my fav higher tier tank back in my playing days -- properly equipped and with a good crew, it was a surprisingly flexible TD, able to perform as a med and even occasionally as a scout :)
Pro tip if you're in a E3. Drive forward and reverse repeatedly fast to change the angle on your lower plate. They might fire just as you tilt forward and bounce due to the increased angle of your lower plate. Worked and saved my butt several times especially when I'm a one shot.

I love the Charioteer, it was my first three mark. I highly recommend taking more HESH and using it as your standard rounds. They have 210mm pen and at range it's virtually identical to the APDS penetration, but gives the tank actually good dpm. It costs a lot but it is damn worth it.
The charioteer is competitive in almost any match-up, while staying pretty balanced, to the point that on the server I play on it has a sub 46% winrate. It's easily my favorite tank though, carrying my tier 10 teammates never gets old
WZ-120 stock grind felt absolutely horrible as well. Guns don't have the handling that mediums should have, reload isn't great, penetration is horrible... Until you either get the best 100 mm or the 122 mm gun, the tank just really feels like a "made in China" tank, an absolutely horrible knock-off of a T-54.
I remember catching the first game live, it really was an epic moment! Very well played. Your reaction was entertaining as well, although I know it doesn't really suit your overall family-friendly image. It just shows that we're all human - even one of the nicest content creators I have ever watched.
That sacrificial push across the field at the start might have been the most 5head thing I have ever seen. Love to see you give up your own performance to allow your team to win.
Yeah, there is pay to play aspect, but the MM and RNG are biggest problems right now. Should be no more than 2 tiers in battles and no more than 10% RNG.
While WoT classes the Charioteer as a TD, it would have been classed as a Cruiser/Medium Tank by the UK. That might be why you find it fun the drive around.
Yeah, it really does. It's supposed to be a mobile, flexible TD, but the fact you can't hit anything after moving (because of the reticule bloom) kinda nullifies that. Seriously, I have on many occasions poked round a corner to shoot a tank literally right in front of me, and missed. It takes like 10 seconds after stopping to be able to aim with any accuracy. QB is right - you can play this tank fine without any gold ammo, but premium consumables make it so much better.
"Getting angry doesn't help." Yeah I usually log out before I get to that point. Sometimes that is as soon as just a single match after logging in. "Well, looks like WoT doesn't want me playing today. I guess I won't."
I've had the opposite experience that everyone else seems to with this tank; I absolutely couldn't stand the gun handling. Even fully aimed, with food + vents + BiA crew + snapshot + everything else, it wanted to miss at every possible opportunity. But at least it has high shell velocity so you can miss _really fast!_

You can also play as med and light. standard pen is good. option to have 480 dmg (close to the skop G with better dpm). good shell speed. The downside is gun handling and small ammorack but that are the only ones
Still, the amount of time invested for a new player to go up is significantly shorter than in the past. When I arrived in 2013 there were no boosters, no campaigns, no marathons. I suffered the horrific era of the T18 annihilating tier 1 and 2 by sealclubbers, the hellcats being completely broken at tier 6 and the scary monster known as WT Auf E-100 along with artillery able to 1shot tier Xs. The situation has changed now, there's a huge number of broken tier 8 premium tanks too. However, given how many tanks a player can pick up now, you have to be careful which line do you want to grind, not everyone will play for dozens of hours every week, the vast majority of players are casual.
Paris is one of the only maps, except himmelsdorf, where it is possible a comeback. The rest of the maps, impossible due to choke points and hull down position which don't give possibilities to trick the enemy brain. That's why everywhere I see - Paris is worst map. It isn't. One of the best to utilize surprise attack and use your brain.
the char has been one of my statspad TD and you could use it as TD or Med before they nerft it badly. and you dont use optics on a TD that highly depends on accurasy.
I would really appreciate if you could upload in 4k to get the better YT bitrate. Sometimes it's quite hard to make out the details due to the limited bandwidth on 1080p YT. Even if you are not recording in 4k it's def worth it to upscale and upload around 30Mbit/s 4K. Looks so much better.
I am so much more interested in seeing normal tech tree tanks without crazy crews or consumables do well in a tough matchup instead of another fullgold Skoda T56 with a 6skill crew beating tier 6 puppies. Thanks for the vid, great content!
Interstingly, why don't you use the regular HE rounds as well? Those still have 105mm of penetration, that's still quite a lot. And you don't always need the 210mm pen of the premium HE, so you can save quite a lot of credits there.
I'm playing through the charioteer right now and am really struggling with it. These games show me what its capable of but just seem like way too high level for me to be able to achieve
Started playing again for the first time in 5 years and yeah the game has changed loads. Bad MM and bad RNG is was tilts me more than anything, I can adjust to a bad tank and make it work but not a bad team lol. Got a mark of excellence on my Pershing for playing it more like a scout than anything which kind of says a lot. Admittedly I think I need to find like a clan or community to play with cause I prefer platooning overall and getting solo wins seems harder than ever these days. I say that as a statistically above average player, who does not like platooning with toms as that leads to more loses than playing solo for me.
That stock grind was absolutely horrible. Weak-ass gun(s), dispersion through the roof and a slow turret with zero armor. Now with all the top modules the tank can actually be fun, which makes me even more furious because the grind was so frustrating I actually wanted to sell this thing. Like, fuck, why can't we just unlock a tank, have fun with it and just *eventually* unlock the next one in line?
Premium consumable is not that excessive as you give it credit. That small boost can be helpful in light tanks and auto loaders but generally you won't feel the difference between with and without premium if you try it back to back

A year later, I had her and she has since become my very favorite tank to play in the game. With view range and camo challenges light tanks, the mobility of a medium, and the firepower of a tank destroyer, she performs well in any situation. Plus being able to swap to those practically abusive HESH rounds means she can rip up vulnerable targets like few other vehicles in the game. Just a glorious vehicle. Thank you for showcasing her.
I wish the Centurion 7/1 105mm gun actually share with the Charioteer so that I don't have to torture myself playing the stock Centurion with is (half decent) 20 pdr ....
My friend has the tier 9 centurion and plays it with the dpm gun, he uses a lot of apcr but he told me he has more fun like this than with the 105 mm gun
so it's been a while since I played but I hated the Charioteer. because I just got through it's younger brother before it got it's own 20 pdr. a 17 at tier 7 is murder at the range they expect you to fight at. and that salt just really made me miss a really good tank
For me it was the S.Conqueror tech tree from T5->T7. I LOATHED those tanks and I just took a death wish attitude to them. I would just play for a minute or two and look for an opportunity to get 1v1 slug match with basically any tank I could do damage to at reasonable rate, drive next to them and spam at their front wheel hoping to get 1:1 damage ratio and go to garage asap.
I actually really like the Charioteer. I do well in it but I don't have a great WR in it. It's a lot of shrewd work to have a really good game. There is also that awful temptation to do as you did in the first battle, making risky moves because you have some decent mobility.
I just wish they kept the mobility for the higher tier tanks. Would be a nice buff for them, since both Conway and 4005 are the lowest WR TD's at their tier... Like 45kmh for Conway and 40kmh for 4005 for example. They're centurion based after all. But yeah the 4005 is such a hard tank to balance, it's simultaneously the worst WR at tier 10 and the tank with the most insane high damage games.
When you find yourself getting angry log off, watch a movie, go for a walk what ever helps you to reset. Don't be that guy who rages and starts telling people to uninstall etc. It's just a game, some people just play for fun and don't care about being a unicum or your statistics.
that kind of magic happens only to you coz me in those situations alway bounce, like the other day I bounced from the side of scorpion from a point blanc distance and lost the game
Honest I think this tank has a hidden dispersion value where the shell never goes in the center I 3 marked it and I have a hit ratio of 67% which is wayyyy lower than other tanks
Biggest pain in the ass with the charioteer is you end up in teir X games regularly, the gold hesh round is practically useless as it has less penetration than the apds, so when you end up engaging the ususal objects and autoloading TD's and your apds round won't cut it then you have no choice but to run! It needs a heat round not a low pen hesh, against tier VIII it's pretty good, shame about the matchmaker.
This tank is a great td but the 105mm gun forces you o use HESH to really have a great impact. The lack of ammo is also a huge problem, I've run out of ammo many times with it when I was having impressive games. It's stupid to nerf a tank by reducing the numer of shells you can carry. It was my first tank I 3marked and I'm proud of myself for doing it but it's getting hammered by the powercreep nowadays.
dont understand why you do not use premium consumable. I farm credits in order to buy premium cons. when price is reduced. In my opinion that's still free to play

The real f2p is grind without premium. Even free premium. This account is still grinded like 90% with premium even if money not spent. Casual f2players do not haveother accounts to fall back to when event and mission premium runs out. Quicky you still have at least 50% of f2p that you havent experience. EDIT: GG on the first half.
yeah QB, I have the same issue with Concept 1b. Everybody says it's an epic tank, but 4 me, it just does not want to work. I can't hit more than 70% of my shots... Tryed diffrent combo of equip, got all field mods, but my tank is just "broken" 🤕🤕🤕

At least when the Caernarvon had the 20 pounder, you could unlock it there and be set for the Centurions. Not anymore.

Charioteer has Cent 7/1 gun with higher ROF but poor gun handling and small ammo reserve.
The highs are high and the lows are low, there is no in between in WOT.
Why is it that you don't use premium consumables on your free to play? It's not that hard to get without spending any money
I hate the Charioteer. The stock gun is HORRIBLE to play with.
I can't imagine the face of T95 player seeing loosing High Caliber to tier 8 tank.
Honest I think this tank has a hidden dispersion value where the shell never goes in the center I 3 marked it and I have a hit ratio of 67% which is wayyyy lower than other tanks

Biggest pain in the ass with the charioteer is you end up in teir X games regularly, the gold hesh round is practically useless as it has less penetration than the apds, so when you end up engaging the ususal objects and autoloading TD's and your apds round won't cut it then you have no choice but to run!
It needs a heat round not a low pen hesh, against tier VIII it's pretty good, shame about the matchmaker.

Not loading regular HE is a big miss play, check the pen on that...
This tank is a great td but the 105mm gun forces you o use HESH to really have a great impact. The lack of ammo is also a huge problem, I've run out of ammo many times with it when I was having impressive games. It's stupid to nerf a tank by reducing the numer of shells you can carry. It was my first tank I 3marked and I'm proud of myself for doing it but it's getting hammered by the powercreep nowadays.
dont understand why you do not use premium consumable. I farm credits in order to buy premium cons. when price is reduced. In my opinion that's still free to play
Maybe QB has something set up different but how does he get vision all the way across the map? I don't think my scout tanks can see that far let alone a TD... Just wondering.. awesome play though rock on sir
A combination of crew skills + coated optics to get the 445 min. spotting distance. Anything over that reduces the enemies’ camo I believe

The real f2p is grind without premium. Even free premium. This account is still grinded like 90% with premium even if money not spent. Casual f2players do not haveother accounts to fall back to when event and mission premium runs out. Quicky you still have at least 50% of f2p that you havent experience.

Currently grinding to turret then tier X ( last gun ).

Very recently got the FV (I am free to play) and the charioteer was the most painful grind I have ever completed...it is awful with that stock gun...
So true, but the Coway kinda makes up for it since it gives you Tort's gun for free and makes that grind waaaaaaaaaaaaay easier.

yeah QB, I have the same issue with Concept 1b. Everybody says it's an epic tank, but 4 me, it just does not want to work. I can't hit more than 70% of my shots... Tryed diffrent combo of equip, got all field mods, but my tank is just "broken" 🤕🤕🤕

The RNG makes me go tilt most of the time, not any particular tank.
