This will always be the Saint Emil in my head
Bro i also called it that lol XD
Ay Saint Emil gang!
Glad I am not the only one.
Yes also did that
Sturer not saint
If the St Emil had 20-25 rounds with the 12.8, then I might consider playing it, but having so little ammunition is so annoying, which is why I almost never play my Super Hellcat.
to be fair; shooting all the rounds a sturer emil can hold will get you in excess of 7000 damage in a game, so as long as you make your shots count you'd have more damage then 99.9% of average tier 7 tanks
It got good accuracy if you using improved aiming with camo net and rammer
@@Adierit ASSUMING you hit all your shots, and we know what RNG is like
@@timeforgottenprince8271 well, think of it like this. if you manage a very easy 50% hit rate, you'd do 3500 damage every game you use up all your ammo in, which is a good game for much higher tiers let alone a tier 7.
Fun fact: in Blitz, this tank actually has the same type of spaced armour that it has on its lower plate up on its cheeks (you can even see the mounting posts in this video), and even through there they can switch rounds immediately, this thing at least can't be penetrated with he rounds unless you get it's side
The St. Emil is very similar to the premium at tier 6 aka. the dicker max (D.max). It also have 15 degree of gun depression and has shitty armor :)
Plus the d.max have 400 meter base view range :)
Nah, Dicker Max doesn't pack a punch on the gun, even with prem. The rest of their gameplay is really simmilar tho, i'll give you that
@@joaquindguez8729 at tier 6 the d.max in percentage it does more or less the same dmg as a st. emil against a tier 7 :)
Or my calculating skill on the top of my head is wrong :P haha
I actually really liked this tank, amazing gun, depression and the mobility is 50/50
I am in love with the gun depression, it does things a Kranvagn would have wet dreams about.
Good thing it has no armor otherwise there could be issues...
The depression does allow you to pull farther back behind bushes on hills though to allow for a greater level of stealth.
Is funny because i started and ended the S. Emil with 60% win rate meanwhile with the Borsig i started with 38% win rate and ended with 56%.
It's one of the few tanks I have a Fadin's medal in. That low ammo capacity helps a lot with that!
This thing was so fun! How could you skip it?! You just stay wayyy back and pummel anyone who tries to make a move. Excellent gun depression and with a whopping 128mm, One of the easiest grinds I've had.
I think I remember the stock St Emil being slightly more playable than the T28 stock. You have a greater top speed, reverse and better tank traverse in the stock Emil. Where the T28 stock feels like a TOG II.
Yes you get a greater gun arc with the T28 but we are splitting hairs compared to the mobility that Tier 6 and 7 offered.
I stopped playing because the T28s were so poor to play through. Kind of glad I am not playing this game still
Sturer Emil should be a Prokhorovkian vehicle, since that was pretty much the only scenario for which it was historically designed.
I remember skipping the VK 30.01 P, Or rather the modules since it was horrible as stock and after getting all modules it became my favourite T6 medium until WG added 10 tons reclassified it as a heavy and gave it no buffs to make it fit in as a heavy.
As a WT player I can't imagine skipping/not playing this vehicle because it's so fun in that game.
Also it's armour is weird and trolly in WT.
The St Emil is kinda balanced by the fact that it doesn't have premium ammo, but very high penetration on it's AP rounds. I really liked this tank, because 490 dmg is such a huge chunk of HP at tier 7, and you can even run into tier 5 tanks that you can almost kill in one shot, even with AP, and some tanks even on tier 6 you can actually kill with one shot with HE. Low tier tanks up to tier 5 I think used to have a lot less HP back in the day, too. Also, the intuition perk used to suck and nobody took it... So yeah, people still used HE against you, but not that frequently, or not on the first shot. Running out of ammo is a real risk, but there is really no equal to this tank except the SU-100Y at tier 6 with 440 dmg and 196 pen. I just noticed that the SU-100Y has a premium AP with less pen, "only" 171 (which is still pretty ok for a tier 6 TD), but with 510 dmg!!! What the hell Wargaming? Russian and premium bias much? It makes the HE on that tank totally useless, because it only has 580 dmg, barely more than the premium AP, with 65 pen.
I guess you could also compare it tier for tier to the regular SU-100 which gets 390 dmg at tier 6.
The SU-152 is not a good comparison, because while it has 700 dmg with AP, it has horrible penetration of only 135, so everyone shoots HE or HEAT (with 250 pen!) or uses the smaller gun for crazy DPM, but the big gun isn't a real comparison in the first place, because it is so inacurate.
Fun fact: Sturer Emil basically means "stuborn donkey".
5:03 I love how he talks about the artillery as if they are ai😂
well people who play arty might as well be b0ts. Cos only stupid people who don't understand the game play this op crap.
Aside from the ammo capacity, I actually really enjoyed this TD more so than the Rhm. Borsig.
I know how to pronounce it properly but am I the only one that just says Saint Emily idk why😭😭
Haha what the heck
I do to
Im from germany and i also call it Saint Emil :D
I played the Sturer Emil on WoT Blitz and when I played it, I performed really well actually. The gun depression and strength was all I needed. I did know about the poor armor and speed, but for me, it still was very good and kept when I got the Borsig.
WoT Blitz plays very differently though, plus being able to play it on PC vs mobile users is just dirty.
Congrats nonetheless for performing well in it, a turret-less paper tank is always a challenge.
I remember struggling with this. Don't even have Borsig. 46 battles with 52% WR.
I skipped this too, along with the Churchill 7. That 300 alpha gun is so painful, it couldn’t hit a maus at 100m.
I love the gun of this tank. The gun depression, the alpha, the DPM. Any game in +2MM is just so many oneshots.
i enjoyed this tank so much when i was grinding this line that i've kept it in my garage for years. on console, it got a buff in the last year - it now carries 23 rounds of ammo. getting into tier 7 matches with this is a blast. while it may not be considered a traditional "derp" gun - tell that to all of the tier 5-6 tanks i've trashed with this TD! i do wish it had (at least) a 265-275 premium round - so i could have a few strong shots when getting into tier 9 matches.
Wait this tank doesn't get any gold shells? Wow I learned something new today.
Its gun depression allows you to peak on unexpected places which is something you can use. Not on map like Ensk, but on bigger maps it can be strong advantage.
I don't remember, but I played in this tank longer when I farmed to WTE100 - it had premiums for this gun. I don't know when they removed it, but the biggest plus in this tank, for example: on top, in the bush and this gun has a perfect angle down. when it detects you, you hide behind a hill.
Hey QB, not sure if youl ever see this comment, but if so. Do you truly enjoy playing world of tanks in its current state? Ive been playing since 2013 and personally i feel as though its at an all time low, bad matchmaking, and bs mechanics / bugs at times. such as getting spotted from across the map just after starting a game. Do you think they should change certain things or keep it as it currently is?
This tank is the sole reason I didn't get to play the wt auf e100 before it got removed. I hated it so much that I stopped playing the line
7:30 that's a large aimsight you have there qb
This tank has my only kolobanovs medal. It was on ruinberg, with 400 hp left against 5 tanks, all were one shots though.
I didn't JUST skip the T25/2. I actually bought it and then sold it on the same day. Not because it is the worst tank tier for tier in the game, but because it was basically worse than the hellcat (not tier for tier, actually worse) even though it is supposed to be an upgrade.
In War Thunder this tank plays similarly, it’s only good for defense and ammo isn’t an issue because you one shot 99% of the time
The poor hp/t ratio can be explained by the fact that the chassis is from a Tiger I prototype and because they mounted a huge heavy 128 mm gun on top of it.
I believe my initial expierience with St Emil was painful, while once I started getting to the end of it and the crew got better I think it progressed to just being a below-average tank with some potential due to alpha. It basically has to have a good driver with two skills or three to become playable.
It never was amazing, but in some narrow cases (ridge + bushes) it could have worked well.
I struggled my way through the ST Emil. It is very difficult to win in but I still to this day play the ST Emil.
I absolutely hated grinding through this thing. It's gun depression was the only thing I liked about it. Much prefer the Tier VIII Rhm. Even the Pz. IV and Grille 15 are lackluster to the Rhm. At least the Grille 15 has really good accuracy.
15 rounds lol. You missed 3 shots, that's 20% of your total potential damage. Crazy!
I just picked this up last night and then this drops. Awesome
What’s the chances that I just happened to grind through this thing yesterday? 😂
I only liked the St. Emil when I got the top gun, it was pretty good as long as you dont get spotted. Also only tank I ever skipped was the T28, I used blue prints to unlock it. Then free xp and more blueprints for the T95. There was absolutely no regret in my decision
My heart is so full after seeing the arties initiate CQC, acting as bait, decoys and fooling the T25 AT.
What comraderie I never thought to have encountered in WoT! I actually find my ears being slightly moist, like cutting onions, what is this!?!
Hur jeda meg, som barn han var. Ej værre tænkes kan. Og Emil var det nam han bar. Ja Emil hetter han.
Old Swedish folk song about the most impossible boy in Småland, Sweden.
Now yell out loud. - Emil! - His father usually gets hurt by his pranks. Like a very hot plate placed on a stomach in pain.
It was fun to watch.
nice to see QB after while, i quitted wot years ago and haven't watched a single video about it. But QB is a Brand for himself. keep it up bud.
i skipped the entire american td line from the jackson to the t28 and now have a t95 with the 105
I actually liked the Sturer Emil, although I admit the last time I played it, low tiers have yet to get the HP buffs, so I could one-shot Tier 5 tanks save for heavies, and sometimes even Tier 6 TDs and lights.
That 128 mm gun on it really packs a punch. Too bad it only gets 15 ammo.
My goodness I remember that grind. Absolutely awful tonk when I was grinding it years ago.
I actually quite like that tank - go up a ridge line, use the gun depression, poke and fire.
I remember st.emil should be packing like 500 or 600 damage from before, that is why it only have 15 rounds. Because it obliterates T7/T6 tank match up.
Oh I love this tank, I had a blast playing it before the borsig
Good teamwork from the arties at the end of the game. Nice to see.
I played that on blitz and boy did I like it. Pen for days and it hits like a bulldozing truck
Did i hear QB wants you to put him as the commander of this true *beast*? Ok
Anyway to convince you to re-tackle t28 prototype?
M3 Lee. It was painful.
I dread every battle in my St. Emil, BUT... the first battle I fought in it with the 105 mm gun, I ended up with 3k damage. I haven't replicated that, but still! I was surprised.
If the St. Emil were to be replaced, what would be a good candidate?
It's the only tank that I have 2 MOE with ! On console at the very least... when you know how to play it... it's strong !
Id wish every tank had that selection of ammo.
Nice teamwork at the end.
my first Radley Walters medal was in this td.
I always skip a lot of tech tree tanks until I get the T9 or T10 top dog bec the crew retraining grind was horrible when I started playing around 2018-2019. Now I'm gradually playing some of those I've skipped bec things got a bit easier since then.
Frustrating to lay, but when it hits… it like a sledgehammer!
Being a goober, I try and turbo everything; nothing is ever fast enough.
Wow…. I know it’s been a number of years since I’ve played WoT, but I loved my St. Emil. I guess it’s because i platooned up with Clan mates and set up some pretty mean ambushes. But then again it was well before all of the ridiculous OP premiums were released.
8:36 said it and still would have lost credits if it wasn't for the premium account...
The worst thing about it is the huge amount of XP to get the top gun. I saved free XP to skip the default gun but it was quite a chunk.
The stubborn one is such a nice tank. this canon is so much fun ...
my first tank line was soviet heavies, i was often frustrated by the limited gun depression. this made me thing gun depression was the most important stat in the game. i looked up tanks with great gun depression and fount st emil. i was looking forward to playing it, i was excited when i unlocked it. imagine my disappointment when i found just how slow and unarmored and awkward it was. it DID have epic gun depression, which was nice if you could make it work. that gun would depress so far, you could shoot yourself in the foot if you weren't careful ;)
The stock experience is a pain in the ass
I loved trolling nature of St. Emil. Enjoyed KV-2 of TDs, as I called it.
But I've skipped Churchill VII and Black Prince, and that seems like the best spent blueprints ever.
The Churchill VII is pretty fun, but the BP is a real pain.
"something you just have to put up with, to have what you want."
Interesting 🤔
honestly always loved this tank
231 pen, 490 alpha at tier VII?
kind of a daddy tank
I really wish that there was some other tier 7 tanks with 128mm gun...
Skipping the lower tiers and saying you will go back and play them later. How many years have you been playing this game? TicTok 🤣........Rock on Sir 🤘😎
I rather play the old pre 2.0 equipment Sturer Emil at any time over T29, T34-100, Chi-ri tier 7 tragedies...
didnt you say you skipped the tier 8 french spg. pretty sure that was in the highest win rate video
The Dicker Max was the better version! 300 dmg at tier 6, same gun depression, better mobility
pronounce the first part of sturer like the st from stug so stu_rer ae_mil
I didn't like it so painfully slow and as soon as I got the Borsig I sold it.
I really enjoyed playing the st.emil
I grind the top modules for 4 days with premium account and booster, but i grinded borsig in just one day with premium account and boostera
Today you can make the St. Emil work a little better, true, a lot of stuff went in the game that can improve your experience in that TD. But all those years ago, it was dogshit. The lack of mobility, paper armor, very bad camo, especially after firing the big boom and the inexistent gun arc combined with awful dispersions made this tank gruesome to play through. The low ammo count wasn't a big issue, you either missed or not penned your shots or died way before you got to use it all.
The only way I'd play it today is by having the free exp to unlock all field mods, but I'd still argue that would be a waste. For new players, sincerely, if you can afford it, still skip this TD, it needs full upgrades to even become playable.
Oh, how i miss Jagpanther! It was a brillant TD with medium gameplay!
It's not on the techtree, but you still can buy it.
@@MetalMorris thanks!
What changes happened to sixth sense havent watched wot or played wotb in a long time?
Ngl, I really hate this tank. But after playing for a bit for the Borsig, turns out this was my only tank with performance that can reach top 5 on the 'current leaderboard'. I guess I perform really well with this type of tank, but I still really hate it. I managed to researched Borsig only after 80ish game from stock St. Emil, this might be my fastest tank I grind.
This was actually a tank i loved when i played it. I immediatly put a turbo on it and the big gun. It is a terrible tank to attack, perhaps when it come to base defense, that thing is insane !
This is not a tank its a massive gun able to Move. And for that it does its Job pretty well. On PC this was my first line to play through as i just liked the idea of ferdi Tiger and Co, and that was the first tank that i liked to play as its a Good tank when you have no idea about armor and stuff. I knew about the camo mechanics so this was the first t7 tank i were doing some good stuff while watching my Team to learn about positions etc... short: i liked this tank. I think i even played it years ago on console and also enjoyed it
remembering mid tier is 5 and 6 tier 7 is high tier
You forgot one of the worst things about this tank, the stock grind. Just about the only thing the Emil has going for it is it’s monstrous alpha damage, and the stock gun is distinctly lacking in that. And sitting around trying to make use of the decent dpm it has is just asking to get annihilated by arty, focus fire, or high caliber HE.
"Only Tank I SKIPPED"... also having 60 battles on it...
I loved this tank, so many good games in it. Had far worse tanks that I have skipped, Udes 16 for example, such a bad gun, but the St Emil was really fun to play.
i oddly enjoyed this tank, its main gun absolutely SLAPS lower tiers, i loved playing it.
can I ask you a question not about this tank or game
I got my only Fadin's Medal in this tank due to its 15 rounds magazine :p
You skipped some arty as well, like GW TigerP or GW Tiger, but got the point. ;-)
speaking of mothers in law I haven't spoken to mine for 5 years couldn't get a word in edge ways lol
The only german TD i sold is the Ferdi. It's sloooooow, should have some decent armour (i didn't make it work), but no fun for me. The JPII is much more fun, so is this St. Emil. ;)
Turbo utterly transforms the Ferdinand and it can block the occasional shot as well. That said, yes, my best WR for German TDs is in the JPII. Such a lovely machine. They should have kept it in the tech tree and tossed the Borsig - the whole line, in fact, as all of those Rheinmetall TDs were paper or wooden mock-ups only.
I skipped the bar man I played like 10 battles and was like nope
I actually loved the tank of course I just went through the line but I loved it, 490 alpha in 7s is pretty insane
Low tiers have best gun depression
St Emil or Churchill GC?
I just got the tier 9 american heavy YOH tank the M-VI-Y and am playing it stock. It's one of the worst grinds I've ever played. Crappy little 90mm popgun, and super slow. It's ideal position is hulldown on a ridgeline but even then you have to fire gold and it's got a massive cupola on top that everyone shoots. I'll have to grind out 42k xp to the next gun, playing it in this state. The upgraded turret looks just as bad, having TWO cupola weakspots on top! I'm very close to free xp skipping this entire piece of trash.
How could you skip this one, such an enjoyable tank, enjoyable 3 mark experience since i dont have to spam gold and lose credits
- because you can't spam gold..
