The dynamics are different with Stride as a woman. Instead of Stride being a rival for Emma's affections, Madam Stride is like an overprotective mother, no doubt seeing herself as a surrogate mother when Emma's mother died. I also like the implication on display by having Sir Danvers being Caucasian and Emma being a woman of color. The idea being that Emma was adopted or that she is a biracial woman. It's awesome actually. The girl playing Emma is absolutely divine and has a wonderful voice. Her chemistry with the chap that played Jekyll is evident.
The talent on show here is extremely impressive even when you don't consider the age of the performers. Emma in particular was excellent as Aida and just as good here. There is one choice I don't quite understand about this section though - why give the Bishop's lines about heresy to Stride and have someone else call her by his title of 'Your Grace' when the actual Bishop is just behind her?
Yeah that was kinda odd. Also the line from the Board of Governors scene about 'how I've always encouraged your enterprise' shouldn't that have been Sir Danvers line and not Stride's?
I have no words for how good this was. Well done and i think everyone in this could have a fulfilling and great career in theatre/singing/acting (especially Jekyll, Lucy and Emma but the others were also absouloutely astounding.)
Is it possible to add subtitles to these videos? I've always had trouble understanding people when they're speaking/singing, and I'm not exactly sure which version of the show you're performing so I'm having trouble finding lyrics. Plus, I don't want to look away from the show to read what they're saying since it's so captivating! Please, I just want to be able to understand and appreciate the show completely. Thank you!
Oh well I’m that case I’m not impressed. At all. They should be much better than this if they are teens. I’m glad you pointed out the difference. Can you follow me around as my word police in life? But only if you can sing like that. Thank you!
I love how "Engagement Party" is being sung by the busybodies instead of jealous men, it makes it sound so much more Victorian 😂
Wtf you mean these are high schoolers? That Jekyll boy CAN SING.
Broadway caliber!
And sings celestially ❤️
Emma’s voice gave me chills from the first note to the last
Am I the only one who loves how Jekyll called her 'my angel' and Emma called him 'my devil' ??? 💕💕
I think that cause one of the women called Jekyll a devil
i loveeee the casting of a lady as stride... it works much better than i would've imagined! also emma is so lovely.
FueledByDaria and Emma looks ravishing in pink too, as a complete side note.

Honestly, this high school production truly beats the Broadway versions hands down. I love the actress who plays Emma Carew :)
the girl playing Emma has a beautiful voice.
Her voice reminds me of Audra McDonald!
The craziest part is I think she has a cold while still slaying so hard.
Isn’t her name meant to be Lisa??? Jekyll and Hyde and Lisa and Lucy.
Mali Lisa was changed to Emma once the musical reached Broadway
She is called Brittany Wallace.
you're kidding!! this is high school!!!!!!!!! unreal.
Wow the talent in this video is unbelievable! The actress playing Emma, bravo!!!! Her voice gives me chills!
I was wondering why they look so young and then I read them about being high schoolers! This is amazing! I wish all of them a bright future!
this Emma has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard in my whole life.
This is high school? Wow.
Pooey it’s a college!
@@Thepixiebella It's a K-12 school, not college.
Their chemistry is amazing

THIS CAST IS AMAZING
Im fan boying over the costums and sets and the actors rn
Emma was played by Brittany Wallace.
Madam Stride sings very nicely!
I legit love dis , I just started watching it like a few mins ago and already I'm almost done watching em
I really love the cast in this one
Just amazing so much talent, the broadway stars of the coming time. Their performance brought tears to my eyes.
Regardless of the obvious problem of too little male cast, the female cast is a great replacement!
OMG!!!!! Jeckyll sings AMAZING!!! and Emma toooo!...all of them!!! shoot!!! :O!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO PROO
Brittany W. is marvelous!
Oh my god, the girl playing Lisa is so good!
I just watched your production of The Light in the Pizza yesterday, it’s funny how these two ended up together. ;D

Can anyone explain to me how these children are all fully trained opera singers?? I’m blown away
They're teens not children ;-;

Okay sarcastic bitch I didn't ask for your opinion.
I only said 'They are children not teens' because they AREN'T children and don't deserve to be called children.
No one asked your opinion lol wow you need to lighten up. Pathetic
Does the girl playing Emma remind anyone else of Brandy as Cinderella in 1997
I just noticed...is the actress, who played Lady Beaconsfield, the same as the one who played Clara in The Light of the Piazza?
Who is the director for this production???
Who is playing Emma? I love her voice!
Thanks for your question! Brittany Wallace played the part of Emma in TKA's award-winning "Jekyll & Hyde".
She has a sultry voice, that has so much emotion.
but shes a nigga
@@findtail You are a disgusting piece of filth.
@@findtail yeah and it really doesn't fit the time period

OOOOOOOO BURNED
The girl in the green dress is quite good. Does anyone know her name????
What's the name of the girl in the green dress? She's very good.
who played the partner of emma...he kinda remind me of brandon routh
Gregorio Umana. He is from Columbia…what a beautiful man ❤️ with great talents
He later reprised his role as Jekyll and Hyde in TKA’s 2020 production
Are Emma and Jekyll play the main couple in AIDA?
