Thanks for sharing your ride. I am so excited to check out the trails. Maybe I can pick your brain about bikes when we get to the area? Coffee on me!

What do you prepare to say if a police stops you saying electric scooter is illegal on the beach path? I read the law just now in 2022, ebikes are legal but privately owned e-scooter is not

Hey thanks John for the comment, I’m not up-to-date on the law so I’m the last guy to really comment on that. I know that I have an E bike that does not have a throttle so technically it’s an electric assist and I believe it is legal on the bike path. The way I understand it is that if it has a throttle that actually is used to drive the vehicle then it’s nit allowed. Now that makes no sense to me because the Scooter definitely has a throttle so I don’t know what is what but I will tell you I ride around the Orange County area a lot and I have not been stopped.

@@costamesadave the new law categorized e-bike as electric assist pedal vehicles, so the key word is pedaling in circular motion LOL... then the e-scooter is categorized as electric small light vehicles, the law makers making those 2 in a very divergent pathways of the law. Statistics drove these development - i think IMO due to small wheels of scooters which causes loss of control much easier while the pedal type of cycling has GIGANTIC wheels compare to scooters THUS out of hundreds of thousand miles, will show large wheels is more stable leading to less crashes and loss of control. There is always good and bad drivers of either but due to fundamentally bell curve stats, law makers in the end separate them using the word pedal vs non-pedal EV

@@costamesadave i'm glad you're not stopped. i own Emove Cruiser, 65miles range electric scooter with seat option, it even has all the signaling (left, right) lights, plus brake lights. I for one, want to go to Huntington beach everyday with it and I likely will. I think if you go at a speed

There's still a lot of places you can ride an eScooter, but if it's unpaved or posted in OC, they are most likely not allowed.
That said there's lots of connected tracts and parks with paved trails... and in most cases unless your riding like a maniac or encounter a Karen in the Wild, eScooters don't get hassled much in reality. 🙈🙉🙊

@@WolfHound911 I have 6K on my old scooter, 3K on the new one and I've never been even talked to by a police officer
Miami, Tampa, Dallas, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Portland, Boise, Salt Lake City and the list goes on and on.
I take that scooter everywhere and I ride it everywhere and never has anyone ever asked me to not ride. Oh wait, I take that back I was at the Fish Market in Seattle, WA and I was asked to walk the scooter
