    Dante, so good. Thanks for sharing. Long time viewer first time commenter.
    It’s been almost 20 years since my last class as a potter, but almost 20 years teaching clay without a wheel.
    Your videos are great! You have helped me a lot to shore up this long forgotten skill and help me be able to share wheel throwing with others! Thank you.

    Yep, I am one of those people, some days, other days I'm a mughugger, or I hold the mug with the handle on the opposite side of where my hand is, or at the back when I'm holding it with both hands (super-squeezy mughug) or I hold the mug like the Japanese hold their yunomi or other tea drinking vessels... You got it, I'm not very consistent...

    Thank you! That is my challenge for today. What weight of clay did you use please? And is it stone or earthenware? I'm just trying to get used to what I should be achieving with different amounts of clay, now less of it is flying off the wheel head!

      This is pretty much porcelain and I do not weigh my clay

      @EarthNationCeramics  3 роки тому

      I'm moving between about four different types of clay. Usually redstone, bmx, porcelain and a stoneware clay

    I feel like it might be helpful to explain why you need that last pull on the bottle after chocking the top. I am sure you know, but other dirty potteries might not. When chocking the clay, you are basic compressing the shape and the wall getting thicker as you do this. A small increase in wall thicken is not a big deal, but the extra clay is there to add height or shape, so why not. In future videos, if Donte cover more extreme pushing out, it is likely he would cover the reverse effect. Ei, don't make very thin walls the try to double the diameter of the pot.
