True story, when I pulled that out of a dime box several years ago, I had no idea the promo cards existed. I was getting frustrated because everything I saw with him had a different card number for him. I was so confused before finally finding it on TCDB. Haha
love the video. My son and I love going through the 10 and 25 cent boxes as well. It is exciting when you find great cards like you are showing on the videos for those prices. Please make a part 2.
@@timstahl989 I love that you are collecting with your son! The dime and quarter boxes (and nickel and penny boxes) are where the real fun happens. Like a treasure hunt! Part will definitely be coming a little later. Thanks for watching!
Wow the greatest hits! I feel like this was the holiday episode of Cheers where they do a bunch of call backs to the whole season tossing in the best clips 😂😂😂. I call being Woody! You can be Coach.., or Frasier
@@macwaxxstacks Coach is such an underrated character. People forget about him because Woody Harrellson (who graduated from a Cincinnati HS) did such a phenomenal job replacing him. Cheers is legit in my Top 5 most favorite shows.
The Coke Jim Rice card is stellar! I dig the look of it, promo or not. The Texas Gold Eric Davis had me 🤤 the TCMA card back is so bad and bootleg looking that I would have picked it up for $3 😆 Also, the Fleer football cards add some super cool variety. The Elroy Face is a damn showstopper! One of the most unique things I've seen. Thanks for sharing all of these!
@@wax_nostalgic You hit the nail on the head on all of those! Those Texas Gold cards are awesome, that back is amazingly plain (haha) and the Roy Face business card is incredible. Makes me want to track down more of them. Thanks for watching and joining in the conversation.
Love this idea, we should do something similar. I’d probably have to go back in videos to see what was from what. The Hatcher big glove is a score. I grabbed that for a quarter as well Lott RC, no way!!! Porter got the Bo Supplemental for a $1 and that was a steal. Thanks for sharing my friend.
@@zachandporter I noticed some of my favorite cards sitting around, and then it dawned on me to make the video since people do ask from time-to-time what my best/favorite finds were. The Hatcher Big Glove in a Penny box was thrilling! And getting that Bo Supplemental for a $1 is a huge get.
DBD Greatest Hits. So many great finds, something for everyone. Cringed when you handled cards lacking penny sleeves. The Al Kaline looked like a 1971 Dell stamp. Do you remember Phil Garner's nickname - "scrap iron". The Fleer football cards and the hockey checklists are great! The Elroy Face business card is unique, a tremendous find. The telephone number gives away the age of the business card: CH indicates the telephone company central office followed by the line number which was provided to the operator who connected your call. Pittsburgh had mostly completed conversion to direct dial by 1959. Looking forward to part 2
I like to live on the edge and handle some cards without penny sleeves. Haha. You are exactly right on the Dell stamp, I blanked on the name in the video. I am not only aware of Phil Garner’s nickname, but I’ve met him a few times and interviewed him since he’s Knoxville (Bearden HS). He was shorter than I expected. And thank you for the phone number info on the business card. I’ve been trying to narrow down a year, but just haven’t been able to. Truly a unique and cool find. One that tells some history of the sport as well.
Nice pickups. Good eye on the Coke Jim Rice. I had no idea there was 3 card promo set.
