I really appreciate your repeated, detailed videos on the Modwave. I own this incredible little synth for 1.5 years now and think it's massively underrated. It just doesn't get the recognition it deserves. If KORG had put it in a solid metal case with aluminum knobs, a fine Fatar keybed, and a bigger display, it would long have been a modern legend. And of course much more expensive... Instead, it will always retain the status of a cheap entry-level synth. Which, in essence, it is not, not at all. It's a monster!
This is wonderful, thanks so much. I love my modwave and have been recently trying to create more analog sounds, so your tutorial was a great help in my understanding of the parameters to tweak/modulate to achieve this.
Love how this sounds, really brings a warm tone to modwave. Great tutorial
this is great! I've been looking for resources on making the most of modwave and here you go, also, with free patches to download! Can't thank you enough!
No problem! More patches coming soon
Sweet stuff!
Thanks!
@@IanDixonTDL I think you will really love the changes coming to the OS of the mk1 after beta testing. I am not a beta tester, but my new mk2 is sweet!
I plan to produce some more patches taking advantage of some of the new features
Thanks Ian, really helpful and clear, I'll need to watch this one a few times! I love your tutorials and sounds you get - so inspiring, keep up the good work, and happy new year 😎
Thanks, if you have any other suggestions for video topics let me know!
Good sounds and tutorial ! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
One sound you haven't attempted yet is the Polymoog Vox Humana. I used the instructions on a different UA-cam video (ua-cam.com/video/W1mi1L1AuSI/v-deo.html) which are demonstrated on a Kurzweil synth but I couldn't even get close on my Modwave. It needs a square osc, a saw osc, pwm and separate pitch modulations but the basic oscillators don't seem warm enough in sound. I got much better results on the Surge VST plugin but I'd be interested to know if anyone has attempted this tricky patch on the Modwave.
Just had a quick go and got, and I think I got close. When you put the phaser on, its sounds pretty close. I will work on it and then if i get close i will do a video and upload the patch
@@IanDixonTDL Ooh... looking forward to that one. You will make some older players very happy!
