Lancaster "Just Jane" Flies Again?

- Just Jane Lancaster NX611 is currently 6 years into a 10 year restoration at East Kikby, Lincolnshire to return her to flight and along with BBMF PA474 and CWHM VERA KB726 will be a much anticipated third flying Lancaster Bomber. This initial taster animation video shows the three Lancasters flying together.A full video will follow to show them flying low over the Ladybower Reservoir and Dam commemorating the 80th anniversary of Operation Chastise.

I was lucky to get a flight in a Lancaster at the RAF Brize Norton airshow back in 1984 as i was in the RAF and was with TCW AMF and i asked if i could come on a flight with them and they said ok which was a surprise and made my day as i was getting bored driving kids around in the landrover.
I was lucky enough at 13 years old to witness 5 Lancaster bombers fly over lake Windermere during the making of the Dambusters film
I suspect that you only saw 3 Lancasters and the other two may have been the Varsity and Wellington Gil Taylor employed as camera ships. For more details I'd recommend Jonathan Falconer's book 'Filming The Dambusters'.

To hear "The 12 Merlins" symphony will be such an event. Four more years to the premiere.
Hopefully nothing gets in the way like non availability of parts. Or more likely the CAA. If they say Just Jane can't fly when she's ready they will justify their nickname Campaign Against Aviation.
I know it's only CGI but it's a good impression of what the real thing would be like.
When we receive the news that Just Jane finally lifts off again it will be a day of celebration. To think that out of 7, 377 produced only 2 are left flying with third to come.
Maybe 4, if #KermitWeeks ever gets his ass into gear!
Can’t wait for that day to see just Jane fly over the Lincolnshire skies with the city of Lincoln 😊 l see on UA-cam just a little while back that Canada have two Lancasters flying now am I right l follow Neville wheeldon with all of his videos on just Jane it looks like only 4 more years 🤞👍

Just spine tingling.......well done...when the Canadian Lanc was here both Lancs ,Spits Hurricanes flew right over my house several times VERY LOW tree top level on the way to Eastbourne Airshow and back.The whole place shook , and the sound was deafening I shall never forget it, perhaps one day all three will be able to fly together low over my house.......can you see thousands of Lancs flying in formation behind them,Ghost Riders in the sky? they are there, if you close your eyes.........lest we forget.
The front of a Lanc always reminds me of a British Bulldog, coincidence? don't think so....
STOP PRESS ! i DONT BELIEVE THIS ! SPOOKY.....Just now after writing the above about 10.30 at 8/8/23 what sounded like a LANC flew low over my house, I rushed outside ,I didnt see it a few mins later I heard it in the distance but couldn't see it....Universal synchronicity or coincidence ? its not the Airshow as far as I know. JUST READ The Eastbourne Airshow is from 17th Aug to 20th, so what I heard wasn't hallucination just a practice...WOW

Nice 1 Ted, B1 Bombers fly over my house regularly and today it was an Osprey. Have fun modeling a dam 👍Sometimes, if I'm real lucky, I see the B2 too :)

I think we'll be lucky to see this in reality. If NX611 is airworthy the RAF might decide to ground PA474.
No, not for the foreseeable future as it had a major overhaul and current modern instrument refit.
It's also taken out of service as soon as even minor issues are found and considering most Lanc's didn't complete 3 missions amazing these 3 survive 😊

Nice, a dream or a fantasy? How did you get the sound? Triple loop? Ever since I was a nipper I have always dreamed of hearing three after the part in Dambusters where three fly overhead looking for the second dam just after the dialogue "I reckon you ought to see it by now".
A dream for me but who knows! The sound is actually of Thumper and Vera at an air display. I doubled it up on the editor timeline slightly delayed so really four Lancasters! Three Spitfires coming up soon!

I wonder what happened to the other aircraft that stood on squires gate next to just jane im sure i remember a defiant a Starfighter a sabre maybe a chipmunk I know that the vulkan was chopped up
It was a Seafire FR.47 (VP441). That was restored about 20 years ago and is currently based in USA.
Alongside Lancaster NX611 (G-ASXX) we had a Canadair F.86E Sabre Mk.4 (G-ATBF)(ex MM19607 - XB733) and V.S. FR47 Seafire (VP441) in the 'Reflectaire Aviation & Military Vehicle Collection' based @ Blackpool's 'Squires Gate' Airport from 1970 to 1973. There was never a Chipmunk nor a Starfighter in that collection and the Vulcan wasn't anything to do with Reflectaire Museum @ all.
No radar scanner bulge on Just Jane and wrong tail turret,
There's no pilot either, but my modelling skills don't run to characters!

Getting the sound reasonable is no mean feat here. Credit where credit's due, processing and overlaying old aero engines digitally typically doesn't work too well.
